the families of the two victims killed in the asiana airlines crash have arrived in san francisco.

details on the deadly crash as the investigation continues. good morning everyone i'm james fletcher. thanks for joining us on this tuesday july 9th. we continue to follow the latest with the deadly crash landing at s-f-o that happened over the weekend. federal investigators were at the scene throught the day yesterday at s-f-o. here is what we know. asiana airlines is flying the families of the crash victims from korea and china to san francisco. two

members left for the u-s on sunday, another four left yesterday, and four more the, expected to leave for the u-s tomorrow. onboard asiana flight 2- 14. when it crashed into the runway saturday. 2 teen girls from china were killed. investigators looking into the possibility that one of the girls was killed after being run over by a rescue vehicle. more than 180 people were sent to several bay area hospitals. as the investigation images into the news room. this video shows the immediate aftermath of saturday's deadly crash. footage of smoke billowing from the wreckage of asiana airlines flight 214. emergency crews battled the fire as well as attending manage the chaos following the moments after the plane went down.

our team coverage continues with kron-4's dan kerman. he has details on what investigators are saying about the crash. many survivors of flight- 214 are still coming to terms with their narrow among those who walked away from the crash was a group of teachers and students from a martial arts studio in scotts valley. they were returning from an event in south korea. the doors and windows of the elite martial arts academy are now filled with messages of love from patrons and other supporters, giving thanks for the team's survival. school owner elliot stone and possibly some of the others who were on flight 214 are planning to share their experience with the public today. the last person off asiana flight 214 described the crash to korean reporters. flight attendant lee yoon- hye says she felt the plane trying to take- off again before hitting the runway. the flight attendant also described two evacuation slides inflating inside the plane pinning other flight attendants before they were punctured and deflated. 84 flights were canceled at

san francisco international airport yesterday. and delays into and out of the airport were averaging between 60 to 90 minutes, as one of the four runways remains closed. n-t-s-b investigators say the crash wreckage and debris is still visible on the runway 28 and will not be removed until a team completes its investigation into the deadly crash. there is no estimated time for its reopening. passengers affected by the flight delays and cancellations were advised to contact airline companies for information. stay with kron four as we continue to bring you the latest information with the deadly plane crash at s-f-o. we'll bring that to you live on our 24-seven bay area news channel, comcast 193. we'll also be updating our website, kron-four-dot-com, as well as our facebook and twitter pages. the new eastern span of the bay bridge will *not open as scheduled. on labor day weekend. this comes after problems with seismic bolts on the bridge. the delayed opening of the bay bridge has caused some concern for bay area residents. the toll bridge program oversite committee says, in addition to extending the completion date to december

just prior to opening. a full 4-day closure of the bay bridge will take place. in order to transition span to the new one it did >>darya:firefighters in nevada have >>james: lost ground on two large wildfires burning through forests in the las vegas and reno areas. one of the fires has forced more than five hundred people from their homes. this is a photo taken from that fire. so far, the blaze has charred nearly 24 square miles near las vegas. no injuries are reported and no structures have burned. in northern nevada. the to more than 19 square miles. both fires are about 15 percent contained. meanwhile,here in california, firefighters battled flames for a third straight day in the rugged terrain southeast of julian. the flames have burned about 47- hundred acres so far. it's damaged or destroyed at least eight buildings and forced the evacuations of back- country homes

along with several campgrounds. cal fire has been battling the fire since early saturday. despite their air and ground attacks, the fire continues to grow. over 12-hundred firefighters and 18 aircrafts have been assigned to fight the flames. the cause of the fire is still under investigation. >>erica: said it will be slightly warmer than what we saw yesterday. we will see an increase and cloud cover by later on tonight. take a look at your visibility chart. the rest of the bay area is pretty clear but again we do have some movement of the cloud cover.

quebec. and canadian police say 50 others are still missing. 15- hundred residents who evacuated from there homes, returned to their canadian town today after a massive explosion. at least five of a train's tankers exploded after coming loose early saturday. the cause of the derailment is under investigation. but the company responsible for the train says an engine shutdown may have released air brakes holding the train in place. >>anny:an oversight board today will begin hearing testimony on the government's secret surveillance program. it's the first public event since the disclosure of spying operations. civil liberties activists, a retired federal judge and a former bush administration lawyer are among the 16 experts testifying before the board. the board's five members

futures trading shows all three indexes in the positive this morning. optimism over how second- quarter corporate earnings will look has helped stocks start the week with gains. here's a look at yesterday's closing numbers. the dow closed up 88 points, ending the day ta 15,224. the nasdaq also closed up 5 points, to end at 3,484. and the s and p 500 climbed nearly nine points, closing at 1,640. we'll be watching the market all morning long here on the kron four morning news opening bell. >>anny: the time now is 428. we will be back in just a moment.

the latest on your tuesday forecast and say good morning to erica. >>darya: good morning james. well you will certainly noticed more fog here at the golden gate bridge compared to yesterday. visibility is limited for those of you driving out of santa rosa. we do have coastal and a fog this morning but we are talking sunshine into the afternoon. tomorrow, very similar story to sudden changes and minor fluctuations each and every day lasting into the weekend. nothing to relieve concern yourself with. by lunchtime, fog mainly just setting up at the coast line. starting with the east bay interior valleys, these are the hot spots today with

brentwood at 99 degrees, 934 danville. mostly sunny skies for the east bay's shoreline. 81 degrees and castro valley mid '70s expected for oakland. downtown's san jose will keep temperatures in the mid '80s. low 90s for those of you in evergreen per it may eighties expected and cupertino. downtown's san francisco check-in and in the upper 60s so a little bit warmer day yesterday. pacifica and 63 degrees and low 80's and palo alto. turning your attention for north bay. if you're heading up to one country, looks like santa rosa today with a high of 81 degrees. as we check out your 7 day around the bay forecast, you will notice a very minor changes but it looks like into the weekend we will see low 90s for that inland spot and '70s around the bay and mid- 60's for the coast. in terms of traffic around the bay

more than 180 people were sent to bay area hospitals. 17 passengers are still at san francisco general hospital. six are listed in critical condition. 10 passengers remain at stanford hospital. >>anny:the stanford blood center is calling for more blood donations following the deadly asiana crash. the center has an urgent need for type o-positive and o-negative blood and platelets. the center is a main supplier to stanford hospital and the lucile packard children's hospital where 55 crash survivors were taken. according to the blood center, the crash occurred when supplies were already low following the fourth of july holiday. all blood types will be accepted.

>>james: top stories we're following on this tuesday, july 9th. we just spoke with n-t-s-b, what they are saying this morning about the investigation, plus we'll show you the latest dramatic video coming out from the day of the crash. plus, the families of the two teenage girls killed in saturday's plane crash have arrived in the bay area. an update on their trip, coming up. more on our top story in just a minute, but first we want to get a quick look at >>jacqueline:federal investigators are expected to return to the scene today of the wreckage of asiana flight 214 at s-f-o. >>james:here is the latest: american and south korea investigators today are questioning two of the four pilots of the asiana airlines plane that clipped a seawall and crash landed on saturday. two of the 307 people on board died. the other two pilots were questioned yesterday. investigators want to know

why the boeing 7-77's speed was too slow to land safely, and why no one realized it in time. and they'll also be talking with air controllers. the recorded conversation between the pilots and air controllers at the san francisco airport also will be investigated. that english and korean. >>anny:the relatives of victims of saturday's fiery asiana airlines plane crash in san francisco arrived in s-f-o last night. families were eager to reunite with their children after most of them survived the crash of asiana flight 2-14. the families of the two chinese teens who were killed in the plane crash were among those traveling. a passenger tells us the parents were privately escorted off their flight after arriving at the airport. the students were all from the same province in china. the two girls, along with 28 classmates and four teachers, were headed to a summer church camp held by the west valley christian school near los angeles. the camp is aimed at helping foreign students improve their english skills. the n-t-s-b will continue today with their interview

with the pilots in control of the asiana plane that crash saturday. investigators will be looking into the pilots' activities, including how much rest they had gotten, in the 72 hours prior to the crash. the interviews would also focus on the pilots' use of autopilot and other automated equipment on the plane, as well as whether there was any miscommunication between the

pilots or with the airport's control tower. but the n-t-s-b continue to focus on the lack of speed seconds prior to landing.and says a warning was sent out to the pilots. the n-t-s-b says it is too early say whether a rescue vehicle ran over one of the two girls killed in the crash. we are expected to hear again from the ntsb sometime today. kron four's will tran is live in burlingame with that part of the story, will? >>will: right now, investigators simply don't know what happened. two of the pilots were interviewed. we got a chance to ask her about mechanical problems, did that play wrote critic here is what she had to say about that. memo >> we have examined the

it's boeing 7-7-7's headed for s-f-o had to return to tokyo after a warning flashed in the cockpit saying the jet's hydraulic level was low. the airline says the plane returned to tokyo's haneda airport about four hours after it had left. mechanics found a leak in the plane' hydraulic system. the 236 passengers were put on another plane and safely arrived in san francisco. >>anny: we are expecting a warmer conditions inland this afternoon. we will talk more about that and have your forecast we come back. ñáçwçñ

trying to take off again before hitting the runway. then, she says she felt a massive impact as the boeing 777 crashed and slid across the runway. she said quote "the ceiling was coming down and it felt like something was dragging the plane. behind me i couldn't see because there was a wall." end quote. she also described two evacuation slides inflating inward, pinning other flight attendants before they could be punctured and deflated. following the latest out of a deadly train derailment in canada. 13 people are now dead and more than 50 are still missing from this weekends crash. investigators looking into the fiery train derailment in quebec are focusing on an earlier blaze on the same train and how a series of actions following it may have caused the locomotive's brakes to fail several hours later. >>anny: whatever to the weather center with an update from our country good morning. >>darya: good morning. we are starting with a lot of fog this morning. but we should expect that to clear

kron 4 news starting at 6:30 a.m. with the opening bell. >> americans increase their borrowing in may at the fastest pace in a year. borrowing in the category that includes credit cards reached its highest point since a fall of 2010. increased borrowing can be a sign that consumers are feeling more confident. the federal reserve says that consumers increased their borrowing by $19.6 billion in may compared with april. credit-card debt reached $847.1 billion, the highest since september 2010 the still was below the 2008 peak. maureen on autos and student loans increased $13 billion. >> republicans are urging congress to take action on rising student loan interest rates. last week the
