investigation, a double homicide. earlier this afternoon around 2:00 p.m. when shots were fired. shortly after that, a call came to police with our kron 4:that is an emergency call when the officer needs help is referred to as a she said that she heard multiple shots. the police got on the scene with rifles and drawn and you can see the san francisco police department. the tactical risk bresponse units. they have this completely quarantined off. as we have mentioned, a very scn say is that eight street is going to be closed, indefinitely as they continue to investigate this scene. just a few moments ago san francisco police chief spoke with us and here

to bring you developing news. now,only on four tonight. new information in the case of kidnapped oakland todder, daphne webb. kron4 has uncovered new details about the childs parents. the mother was arrested in february of this year. after being found passed out drunk in her car, with daphne in the back. >> reporter: neighbors say that they have not seen the child's mother in weeks. according to court documents, there was a restraining order against the mother of mandating that she cannot, with and a 100 yds of the 21 month old. the documents reveal that it is all because in the month of february, the mother, as her state was truly behind

the wheel and passed out behind the wheel. she admitted to taking vikings in and alcohol before driving. she was sentenced to drug counseling and parenting classes. the father was are arrested on wednesday for child endangerment. leaving the child alone in the car and they say that she was kidnapped while he was in the store. ever since, there has been a massive search. charges, and took parenting classes. day after the arrest of the father. he had been previously endangerment. but thos charges have been dropped. daphne was stolen from his car, while he ran into a store. the child was left with a grandmother, who suffers from dimentia. oakland at the policeshe has more on the search >> reporter: your thoughts is that issue was reported missing? >> it is sad. >> reporter: why do you say that? >> the child's father was

one of man has been hospitalized and there was a knife found in addition to a gun. there is one suspect in custody. and apparently they were shooting at police before he ran out of ammunition and surrendered. the suspect is at san francisco general. this is a very active scene. with traffic being impacted. and of course, the police are going through to make sure that there is not a potential suspect. and to evacuate employees and customers. it is a large building and area stores. . and we are all waiting that press conference and in the meantime we are going to check-in with catherine. >> catherine: yes. a

developing story. we're on verdict watch in the second degree murder trial of george zimmerman. the case today. they've wrapped up for the day -- and will go back into deliberations saturday. the options they're facing -- 2nd degree murder.manslaughter.or not guilty. the key question -- was it self-defense when zimmerman shot and killed trayvon martin last year? february of last year. a confrontation between neighborhood watch volunteer george zimmerman and 17-year-old trayvon martin ends - when the unarmed teenager is shot and killed. zimmerman says it was self- defense.saying the teenager attacked him. prosecutors say it's second degree murder.and the teenager was racially profiled. both sides had a final chance to persuade the jury. >> saying that this is not 2nd degree murder if there's even a little reasonable doubt. >> catherine: in

endangering daphne's life. in court document's obtained by kron four news. in february kiana webb was drooling in her parked car, daphne was alone inthe back seat. kiana admitted to police that she had taken alcohol and vicodin before driving, she pleaded no contest and was sentenced to drug counseling and parent classes. in oakland terisa estacio, kron 4 news. >> kron four learned that the toddler's father -- john webb -- will be a free man tonight. webb was arrested yesterday on suspicion of child endangerment. during his court appearance this morning, prosecutors say they don't have enough evidence to follow through with charges. he will be released from the santa rita jail tonight, and is expected to return home to his family. the alameda county district attorney can re-file charges if new evidence comes to light. daphne's mother has been questioned and is not considered to be a suspect. the suspect in this case is

a grand jury has issued more indictments against the ohio man accused of holding three women captive for years in his cleveland home. ariel castro now faces 977 counts. that takes into the women were held against their will. authorities say castro abducted michelle knight, amanda berry and gina half than a decade -- beginning in 2002.. he's charged with kidnapping, rape and also aggravated murder -- for terminating the pregnancy of one of the women. castro will be indicted july 17th. >> a lot of angry people were outside the state capital in austin texas again today. they're upset about a new abortion bill that would mean new restrictions. the state senate is in the final stages of debate on that bill. it's the last stop before republicans are expected to pass it and send it to the governor for his signature. supporters and opponents have been staging regular protests. >> this is not really just a war on women, this is a war on poor women. this is a war and it's a disenfranchisement in my far out. women who live in urban centers are going to they're going to be able to get the healthcare that they need and they're going to be able to access it with ease. >> and we need to stop this practice. it's inhumane to do that. and we also know that we have clinics that need to have oversight

>> a russian immigrant has been charged with murder in the beating death of an elderly man in antioch. u-s marshals assisted in the arrest of the suspect in washington state earlier this week. the suspect had been wanted in connection with the murder that happened on the 44-hundred block of horseshoe circle on june 11th. police say the suspect was doing yard work for the victim. and living with him at the time of the murder. they say, the suspect used a vase to beat the victim to death. investigators have not yet determined a motive for the killing. >> pam: vallejo police have released photos and a description of the clothing on a body found buried in vallejo. these are the photos of the clothing.the t-shirt is an unknown color at this time. the body was found around seven p-m on july fifth. west of derr street near lemon street the cause of death is unknown and police say the case is being investigated as a possible homicide. the age, race and gender of the victim are unknown.
