arrested after a high-speed chase. kron4 will tran is live from oakland with more. >> i have just learned that the man and woman, we are not sure if they were firing shots at someone but the oakland police department came behind the stolen car. no one was injured. this driver tried to make a hard right turn and loss control. he slumped to this fire hydrant. both of the suspects had to be taken to the hospital. about five minutes ago they are being booked at this time. there are no names released at this time. >> east bay mud and crews are still working to cap a gas line that ruptured after construction crews struck the line. kron4 mike pelton

is live from alamo with more. >> the road is now fully open. crews to tell me that overnight they had to place a layer with asphalt. this comes after they ruptured a gas line as they try to fix a broken line around 10:30 a.m.. this cost and the evacuation. this impacted people live and work here. there is a dispute whether or not this should have happened in the first place. >> we did come out here and

>> oakland police are investigating the shooting death of a 66 year old woman as she drove through her neighborhood. judy salamon crashed her car after being shot yesterday afternoon in the fairfax neighborhood of oakland. so far, no arrests have been made and police don't have a motive. neighbors say she's lived in the area for more than 20 years and that they can't imagine why anyone would shoot her in the middle of the day and perhaps that she was in the wrong place at the wrong time. >> the bay area is now just *ten days away from a possible bart strike. unions and bart are still far apart at the negotiation table. this is video from our helicopter partnership with abc 7 news. of what the lines looked like during the most recent four day strike eariler this month. contingency plans for

we have just learned that five americans were injured when a train and veered off the tracks and crashed into a concrete wall and spain. meanwhile, new security camera video captures the moment the train derailed. the footage posted on a youtube shows the train running the bend, making a turn to the left, underneath a road overpass. this video appears to stop at the moment that the engine crashes into it. >> here is a video of a

talking about plenty of sunshine for everyone else. the temperatures right now are in the '50s. 59 degrees in san jose and 54 degrees out the door in san francisco. the cloud cover is working its way inland i. breaking down the afternoon highs. the temperatures are exactly where they should be. san jose will have a high of 85 degrees. that east bay will see 90's pop up on the board. pittsburg will be mainly sunny with a high of 95 degrees. 81 degrees for union city. low 70's are expected for berkeley. >> the national forecasts shows temperatures much cooler across the nation. newark's city will have a

high of 75 degrees. upper 70's for chicago. houston will have a high of 94 degrees. you should keep these temperatures in mind if you are doing any kind of traveling. >> back to the bay area weather. the time is 6:17 a.m.. >> we are tracking an accident that may be a potential hot spot. interstate 80 in the westbound direction. i received a report that three lanes are blocked. other reports are telling me that they may have already cleared this. there is traffic backing up at the scene of the crash. so far, it does not reach beyond the ride on 80 westbound. this is good news. again, chp has issued a similar stake in the lanes were blocked. >> there is less traffic at

youth meeting taking place. >> residents in newtown, connecticut had approved spending $750,000 in a new sandy hook elementary school. all of 200 people approved the spending for the new school by unanimous vote. the money will be used for preparation, designed, and site work for the school. the new school will be built once the existing one is demolished. it was back on december 14th, when a 20 year-old gunman adam lanza open fire at the

are in jail at this time. here is video that we have from the scene. this happened about 2:15 a.m.. apparently on the two were firing shots. nonetheless oakland police herded and got right behind the vehicle. we learn that this car was stolen and a short pursuit took place. the driver tried to make a hard right turn and slammed into this a fire hydrant. unfortunately, no water problems in this location. no one was injured. so far, their names have not yet been released. they were taken to hospital, checked out, and then they're taken to the police department. >> a san francisco
