tonight. it is also critical mass and san for cisco which means some city streets will be temporarily shut down. >>anny: a hercules woman is recovering this morning after a pilot attempted home invasion robbery. it happened on bonaire avenue. police said the woman woke up just before 11 tuesday night to a strange man shining a light in her face, climbing to be the police. this is the man was one of two suspects to apparently breaking through unlocked bedroom window. one suspect was the one in the face, tied her up with a cord impressed a gun up to our head, threatening to kill her. the man then drag the woman into her bedroom closet and hit her in the head. the victim was treated for facial injuries and then later released from hospital. one neighbor says immediately after the incident he warned his wife

to be extra careful when home alone. so far no arrests have been made. police are searching for a man involved in a home invasion robbery in fremont. it happened last night. police a man with a gun rang the doorbell and pepper sprayed a woman who answered the door. the man then forced himself inside the home. for people, including two children, were inside the house were able to escape. the swat team and police closed down streets in the area for several hours to search for the suspect. he is described as a hispanic male in his thirties with a long ponytail, goatee, and tattoos above both eyebrows.

oakland police are holding a news conference this morning to discuss the recent violence in their city. this home-this comes after a woman was shot and killed while driving in her neighborhood on wednesday. police have not discussed and voted for the shooting, nor have they released information about a suspect. friends, family and animals came out to remember case that just a 66 year-old woman who was shot killed in her car in oakland earlier this week. judy solomon was remembered as a caring woman who foster sick animals back to help in getting them adopted. the dog most affected by judy's that is listed. was it was in the car with judy and saw everything when she was hit by multiple bullet in the middle of the street. do these friends said the best way to honor her memory is to donate to the local animal shelter or the spca.

richmond city leaders have hired a law firm because they plan to sued chevron for the massive fire at the refinery last august. this is video of the refinery fire which sent thousands of people to the hospital. the city council voted to hire eight a burlingame firm to file the lawsuit. that same firm handled a suit against pg&e. -by the victims of the 2010 san bruno pipeline explosion. the city has agreed to pay up to $500,000 for the law firm's services. the firm will receive up to 13.5% of any money awarded by chevron. we will be right back with more headlines.

>>anny: do have palm trees? you could be in line for some cash. atlanta had been working on the new eastern span is looking to buy 96 palm trees to line the oakland approach to the new bridge. it's all part of a $106 million construction project between the toll plaza and a skylight. kron4's charles clifford has details. >>charles: right now the land around the eastern approach to the bay bridge is filled with caltrans construction yards and equipment, but what work on the new east unspent is finished, this peninsula of land will undergo a dramatic transformation. this is an animation of what the same spot will eventually look like. the project is called gateway park. the park will feature a stunning 360 degree views of the new bridge, as well as the ports of oakland. it will also be open space, a fishing pier,
