>>mark: led traffic out here. the smoothly when traffic at and san mateo bridge. the golden gate bridge the fog is the story here but traffic is very light so far this morning. c-h-p investigators are looking into a fatal crash on westbound interstate 580 in richmond. the crash happened last night around 10:15 at the bayview avenue on ramp, when a car went off the roadway and rolled onto nearby railroad tracks. one person was killed in the crash. it's not clear if that person was the driver, or if there any other passengers we'll continue to follow the latest with the investigation and bring you any new details as they come in.

an investigation into the deadly asiana airlines crash over three weeks ago has revealed a disturbing trend. kron4's maureen kelly reports that pilots with that airline have an unusually high record of aborted landings at s-f-o. >>maureen: found that the airline aborted landing were six to eight times higher than they should be. the boeing 777 crashed into the sea wall short of the runway killing three people and injuring 100 more. asiana rate of the aborted landing up with significantly high. on july 19th almost two weeks after the accident the faa reported that another pilot called for a go round

about a half mile away and from the runway here in the sfo. the plan eventually landed safely 20 minutes later. i spoke to an aviation expert who says all boarded land is don't always mean the pilot is having trouble. sometimes they happen because of a conflict on the runway. maureen kelly kron4 newsprint >>mark:in response, the f-a- a released this statement. in clear weather, pilots can land visually or by using instrument approaches that help guide aircraft down to the runways. one of the instrument approaches to sfo runways 2-8 l and r is currently unavailable due to important runway safety area improvements that are under way. until that approach is again available in late august, the faa is assigning alternate instrument approaches to all foreign carriers. the faa took this action after noticing.

an increase in go-arounds at sfo by some foreign carriers that were flying visual approaches into the airport. the "alternate instrument" they are referring to is g- p-s. boeing is expanding inspections of locator beacons on some of it's planes. last week united airlines and japan's all nippon airways said there were wiring problems on some boeing 7-8-7 emergency transmitters. now boeing is asking 717, 737, 747, 767, and 777 to inspect their battery- set san francisco police are searching for suspects in several stabbings. sauce the first stabbing happened at mission and cesar chavez streets around shortly

before 12-45 yesterday morning. the suspect slashed the victim in the abdomen and then ran from the scene. the victim suffered non- life threatening injuries. a second stabbing occurred in the mission district around one-forty a-m. on the three-thousand block of 16th street. the victim was approached by the suspect who police say punched the victim. causing the victim to run.that's when the victim realized that he had been stabbed in the back. the victim is being treated for non-life threatening injuries. the last stabbing happened on the first block of stillman street near third street. five suspects. walking up stillman encountered two victims. stabbed a victim and took his necklace. the other victim was slashed on the wrist during the robbery. some of the injuries sustained in this stabbing were life-threatening.

peace talks between israel and palestine are set to start today in washington. the move comes after a major effort was made by secretary of state john kerry to bring the two sides together. despite a return to the table, neither side appears upbeat. each has blamed the other for the lack of success in 20 years of negotiations interrupted by bouts of violence. this time around peace talks were restarted after israel released 104 palestinian prisoners. the state department said kerry called the israeli prime minister palestinian and president to invite them to send teams to washington. chaos breaks out in southern of surfing. what forced police to arrive in riot gear, when the kron four morning news continues. police in southern

california are keeping a close eye on one popular beach as crowds refused to pit surfing tournament wrapped up. officers in riot gear had to clear the streets of huntington beach as fights damaged. this is cell phone video of some of the destruction. police say the u-s open of surfing was in it's final day when officers were unable to get a rowdy crowd under control. witness at the beach describe the scene. police cleared the streets about two hours after the initial fights broke out. >>:, they were throwing tear gas at everyone. everyone was just running. you need a seat. we work on the ground hiding behind plants and the cops were hitting people and they had rubber bullets and shot some guy in the face right in front of us. we were sprinting down main street. >>mark:so far there have been no reports of any injuries or arrests.

that aborted landings don't always mean the pilot is having trouble, it could mean there is an issue with another plane on the runway. in response, the f-a-a released this statement. in clear weather, pilots can land visually or by using instrument approaches that help guide aircraft down to the runways. one of the instrument approaches to sfo runways 2-8 l and r is currently unavailable due to important runway safety area improvements that are under way. until that approach is again available in late august, the faa is assigning alternate instrument approaches to all foreign carriers. the faa took this action after noticing. an increase in go-arounds at sfo by some foreign carriers that were flying visual approaches into the
