>>anny:top stories we are following for you on this tuesday, july 30th. bart negotiators head back to the table after yet another *unsuccessful day of talks. what's next for workers and riders as we are now just five days away from another possible strike. the bay area has been part of a nationwide crackdown on child sex trafficking. we break down just how many children were rescued in the operation. and how many offenders are sitting behind bars this morning. and a flash flood watch remains in effect this morning as tropical depression flossie may still cause power outages and road closures. details on the storm coming up. good morning everyone thanks for joining us. we are going to check on our weather with

erica. good morning. >>erica: i want to talk about flossy for just a moment. you can notice not much out there. but this has been for chile downgraded to a tropical depression. yesterday evening the storm track moved just north of the big island is a looks like most of the right expected today is actually going to hit everyone in mali. flash flood advisories are still an affect. maximum winds of about 35 mi. per hour. we have seen over 6 in. of rain to the big island. about 2 in. for a couple of the other islands in the area. now we are still dealing with several flight delays if you have any vacation plans. we will continue to monitor this throughout the morning but i do want to focus on bay area weather. we are waking up to mostly cloudy skies. another great to the start--great start to the day. very stubborn fog. looks like

it's going to be slowed cleared out early today but into tomorrow as well but expect foggy ankle conditions through about thursday and then we start to turn the corner but in the way for more sunshine and slightly warmer temperatures. here's a look at current conditions. fairfield 55 degrees, 55 for downtown san francisco. into the 7:00 hour fog tracker for shows widespread, cover. it is going to start to pull back as we had to about 2:00 p.m. today. you will notice plenty of sunshine for just about everyone with the exception of the immediate coast line. as a breakdown afternoon highs expected in your neighborhood. fairfield 75 degrees, 66 for oakland and hayward fellow '60s for downtown san francisco. your kron 47 day around the bay forecast highlights cooler weather for the next couple of days. temperatures will be cooler the where we should be for this time of year. we'll be back into mid to upper 80s towards the weekend and started the next week. traffic moving pretty well.

nothing slow down. starting at the approach to the bay bridge toll plaza. traffic very light and area. the main lights are off. san mateo bridge looking very good in both directions. your drive time is 12 to 13 minutes. last but not least us take it out to the golden gate bridge. you'll notice lots of space between cars. we do have some areas of dense fog so keep that in mind as you work your way into the city permit >>anny:watching what is now tropical depression "flossie" off the coast of hawaii. the storm had been categorized as a tropical storm as it headed for hawaii's big island and maui. this is video of waves caused by the storm. the national weather service says a flash flood watch remains in effect until tonight. flossie may still cause power outages and road closures-- with wind gusts up to 40 miles-per-hour through mountain passes. honolulu's mayor is urging residents to stay safe during the storm.

>>: only ysabel people should be out driving. you are in danger in yourself and others if you are out there. it be in a shelter at this point. >>anny: the airport will remain open although some airlines have already cancelled flights. that's including airports here in the bay area. san francisco international airport is reporting * no cancelled or delays flight due to flossie at this hour. but yesterday a few flights were cancelled due to the storm. it was a similar story across the bay at the oakland airport yesterday. sixth fought passengers to rebook their flights. this morning, oakland international airport is showing no reports of any cancelled or delayed flights to hawaii this morning. firefighters in san francisco are on the scene of a two alarm house fire in the city's visitacion valley this morning. the fire broke out in the overnight hours in the 100 block of tucker avenue.

good morning. following a developing story out of florida where officials say there are at least three critical deaths after a series of explosions rocked a gas plant. it happened near orlando in central florida last night. this is video of the flames from the explosion. authorities first feared that as many as 15 workers at the "blue rhino propane plant" could have been killed when several blasts blew off the building's roof. witness in the area describe

"aiding the enemy" is the most serious of 21 counts manning is contesting. if convicted, he could get

ex-athletic director tim curley are accused of failing to tell police about an allegation against sandusky, and then tried to hide what they knew. court documents and transcripts of hearings related to the case of murdered washington intern chandra levy will be made public, some immediately and others by the week's end. lawyers have held a number of meetings in the case in recent months but the public and press have not been able to hear all those meetings. lawyers have been discussing information that could discredit a key witness who helped convict ingmar guandique of levy's death. defense attorneys have said they intend to request a new trial based on the information. levy's 2001 disappearance became international news after she was romantically linked with then- modesto rep. gary condit. eight people, including three children, were injured after an explosion

shook this south philadelphia neighborhood late saturday morning. one home was destroyed and two others were heavily damaged. neighbors pitched in to help rescue those inside the homes. witnesses explains what happened. >>:"i saw the whole house was down. i saw the house next to it was falling over. i saw firemen. this dude was burnt up. they were hosing him down with the fire hose." "he was running out of the house with burn marks from head to toe. he was bleeding from his side and he was just asking for help." after more than an hour of searching, rescuers determined no one else was trapped under the rubble. fire officials confirming it was a natural gas explosion. and their search for a cause now centers on work being down by a contractor on a water heater.

they say it appears the contractor may have been attempting to relight the water heater when the explosion took place. it's a small parasite with a big name ""sike-low- spore-uh"" and it's causing a rash of intestinal infections. just last week health officials reported 48 new cases in texas. that number has now grown to 353 cases in 14 other states. ed payne tells us about this parasite and how it gets around.

the government says more cancer deaths could be prevented if certain current and former heavy smokers get annual c-t scans. it's the first time the government has gotten behind lung cancer screening for heavy smokers. a panel with the u-s preventive services task force recommends the scans for people ages 55 through 79 who smoked a pack of cigarette a day for 30 years-- or the equivalent. researchers are working to create a virtual speech therapist for patients who have lost their language skills due to a stroke or other head trauma. the avatar is designed to help people practice their speaking skills after insurance has stopped covering visits to human

midnight and it really started off and is home right here. they detected smoke. called the fire department. when the fire department arrived they realized it was actually are originating from this home and to their surprise when they finally got into this home it was a full house. his video from when firefighters got here tried to fight the fire. because no one was in the home they had to force entry through the garage and that's when they discovered that this was a gross house. there was about 60 plants in its infancy growing and this house. spread out throughout the house may be in five different rooms in the house. one of the back rooms are really caught on fire and that is really what alarmed the neighbors to see some of the smoke. it was a tough fire for firefighters to fight only because they are maureen-judge running more and more into this more frequently if integral houses and because they are grown houses if you have

electricity bypassing the pg e meter and then you also have a border windows and aborted skylights which make it very hot conditions for firefighters to fight and but they were able to get this fire out. luckily no one was home and nobody was harmed. not firefighters or neighboring people. nobody was present in this home. preliminary investigations show that probably elector class started this fire. we are waiting for police officers to return to the scene to collect any more evidence to find out who is the owner of this house. whether they into their house was being used as a row house or if there were even part of that operation. we are still waiting to see and hear from police department. >>anny: thank you for the report yoli. >>anny: in other bay area

news, the fbi said 12th child prostitutes have been rescued and 21 alleged pence were arrested the bay area as part of a nationwide crackdown on child sex trafficking. the bay area had the nation's highest number of child prostitutes rescue during last week's sweep known as " operation cross-country. " the bay area accounted for 11 percent of child prostitutes rescued in nearly 12 percent of the total number of alleged pence arrested nationwide. nationally 105 children who were forced into prostitution were rescued and 150 people described as " pence " were arrested during the raids across 76 u.s. cities. the trade and milwaukee had the second-highest number of child prostitutes arrested with 10 each. --detroit and milwaukee. police in cupertino are

investigating an accident that killed one person and closed highway 85 for a few hours. the crash happened at-late last night when two vehicles collided on the highway. one person was pronounced dead at the scene. the cause of the crash remains under investigation. highway 85 in cupertino has reopened about 30 residents in east oakland came together last night to hear from city officials about safety. the meeting comes after that just almost a week after the murder of longtime residents 66 year-old judy salomon. investigators said they have some promising leads, however they still need the help of the community to get to salomon's killer. a classic councilwoman libby shaftaf talks about the recent crime problem facing oakland residents prepared--oakland city councilwoman.

shaaf added that the city of oakland and the oakland police department are committed to making the community safer. tonight oakland city council was considered a proposal to accept up to $2 million in federal funding for an expanded surveillance center to monitor the port of oakland area. the city council president supports the program called the domestic awareness center because it would help police and fire officials work better together to respond to emergencies. but an american civil liberties union attorney said the letter urging the council to withhold approval for now because of " significant privacy concerns. " if the funding is approved, oakland would be the first city in the country that would have a domain awareness centered that's a combined city port project.
