the cash lanes. because many drivers did not have a fasttrack. the m-t-c also says. because of the strike. commute traffic was heavier on the other bay area bridges as well. full ferries and long lines greeted ferry riders in oakland. san francisco bay ferry carried an average of 18- thousand riders a day during the strike. that is triple their pre- strike average. sf bay ferry is anticipating more riders. if there is a second strike. the ferry service will run 13 ferries. this time borrowing two from golden gate ferry. instead of 1 like last time. without bart. lots of people chose to take an ac transit bus. transbay service more than doubled during the strike. from 11-thousand riders on average to 26-thousand during the strike. ac tells me. it won't be adding buses, but it will have its exsiting buses do extra runs.

increase. as far as the employee pension? they wanted a 5 percent contribution over four years. that is where it remains. as for health care? just before july 4th, they had proposed an increase at 16 percent faced over four years now it has been reduced by 10 percent over four years. if that proposal, that the unions say that some of their employees are at a loss. they continue to deny that that all employees with a net-gain of a least 1 percent per year. we asked the unions to give us the same number so that we could compare to where they were now and before the strike. date have not provided us that information. the union has not provided disinformation. they have not provided us -- that

investigators were eventually able to identify porter-bailey as the suspect who allegedly kicked the woman and arrested him, police spokesman porter-bailey pleaded not guilty on monday to charges of second-degree robbery, assault causing great bodily injury and battery, he remains in custody on $200,000 bail and will return to court on aug. 9, a san francisco supervisor is joining the city's top law enforcement officials this evening for a community meeting on the attack and castro district and adjacent neighborhoods. supervisor scott wiener, who represents the castro, will police chief greg suhr, gascon and others at the 6:30 p.m. meeting, which eureka valley recreation st. the meeting will focus combating them, according to wiener's office. >> pam: new tonight -- a closer look at the fix for snapped seismic safety bolts on the new bay bridge. kron4's charles clifford has more. >> reporter: if you remember, those broken bolts could have put their roadway at risk. however, they came up with a solution and how to fix the problem. they designed a system of cables that would tie this section together. to the column

>> catherine: to his 2008 kidnapping and armed robbery case. it doesn't mean he's getting out of prison -- but it 'does' mean his sentence has been reduced. how did o-j simpson get his sentence reduced? it boils down to good behavior. he says he's been a model inmate. and in fact - there have been no infractions. this week he sat in front of a video camera and made an impassioned plea to the nevada parole board. it's a little hard to hear -- but simpson talked about how much he misses his children. >> i miss my children. and i missed their college graduation and my sister's funeral. >> catherine: this is an earlier hearing. in 2008 simpson was convicted of kidnapping and armed robbery when he says he was taking back sports

now. a bedbug scare in two goodwill warehouses has the charity taking action. kron4's maureen kelly was there when a pest sniffing dog was brought in to the companies burlingame location. >> reporter: this pest control inspector and his dog searched the approximently 60-thousand square foot warehouse for several hours.and found no trace of bedbugs. the pooch was too fatigued finish the job so another dog is scheduled to come in thurday. the donation drop off and outlet store will remain closed until they get the all clear.people coming by to give away items or shop were creeped out when they heard the news. friday workers checking in new donation material at this location and the san franciso warehouse found what they believed to be bugs. the san francisco warehouse also remains closed.exerminators are scheduled to tent and treat the affected area there thursday. a spokesman for goodwill is estimating that

(male announcer) this is the bay area news station, kron 4 news starts now. >> it has been a difficult struggle for the family of 21 -month- old daphne webb. she was taken from her father's car outside an east oakland supermarket. three weeks ago today. here's the latest. the family has organized several search efforts. they have even set up a website to help get tips and leads, but so far, daphne is still missing. her father -- john webb -- was arrested on child endangerment charges, but later released. her mother -- kiana davis- webb -- is not considered a suspect in the case. tonight, friends, family and supporters are getting ready for a 6:30 vigil for daphne. kron-4's alecia reid is live in oakland. and alecia -- there has to be a lot of anxiety as the family tries to find daphne. >> reporter: absolutely. she went missing three weeks ago when her father left her inside the car. when she came out -- when he came out -- was gone. the mother suffers from dementia. the

the plea deal recommends that castro receive a thousand years in prison. >> the days are slipping away on talks between bart and its biggest unions. progress on a new contract - so far has been minimal. here's the latest. the contract expires sunday august 4th. that means union workers can go back to the picket lines next monday. if so, it will be the second strike by bart workers in 31 days. but before they can start picketing, the union has to give the public 72 hours notice. that means the unions have to make an announcement by friday -- which is just two days away. the lengthy negotiations and the lack of progress. are a major source of frustration with bart riders. the two sides are at least meeting again. kron-4's dan kerman is live at the cal-trans headquarters in oakland. and dan -- what have you learned? >> reporter: the latest is that they are still at the

bargaining table which is seen as a positive note. at this time. some of them had already left by this time, yesterday. we can show you some video both negotiations leading. with the management team, and other bart people leaving. again that the key issues that we're talking about our pension, health care, salary. and they seemed very far apart nonetheless, they're both optimistic that they can work out something. also management indicated that there was a surplus. as a result they should be more generous. today the clarified what that surplus is all about. >> the operating budget has a surplus. we have a nice

than 14 years in prison. he contacted a 14 year old girl over social media, then gave the girl a cellphone to maintain the relationship and sent her pornography. it was then discovered he also contacted two other girls in san jose and modesto. >> pam: san francisco police are searching for a suspect accused of shooting a pellet gun in the city's mission neighborhood. this is a picture of the latest victim. the latest incident was reported sunday around ten a-m. the victim tells police he was walking into "my corner café" at south van ness ave and 26th street when he was shot by a pellet gun. similar incidents have been reported in the same area. witnesses gave officers a vague description of the suspect -- a male between 16 and 25-years-old, long hair and tattoos. they're watching you. but should someone be watching them? we're talking about t-s-a workers. >> catherine: people who

are the last line of defense between you and any would-be evil-doers at the airport.are engaging in misconduct that could put fliers at risk. shannon travis reports. >> remember this three years ago: a t-s-a officer at new jersey's newark airport leaves his security post. and a man breezes through, prompting a security scare, for hours? a government report released tuesday shows startling incidents like these happen far too often: it says misconduct from t-s- a workers is up 26-percent over three years. to some 96-hundred cases. and there may be more, since some offenses may never be reported. things like: sleeping on the job. stealing cash out of luggage. t-s-a workers leaving their posts. even letting friends or family go through security without being screened. members of congress, holding a hearing wednesday, were outraged. >> "some of the incidents have been totally embarrassing." >> "stealing is stealing,
