top stories we are following for you on this wednesday august 7th, two people have been shot and killed inside a home in oakland. one of the victims-- a one year old. a live report from the scene and what the family is saying *only to kron 4. plus-- buses will be in service this morning in the east bay. as a-c transit and union leaders reach an agreement on their new contracts. averting a transit strike.

rep. but for the bay area slow traffic is on interstate 580 and on highway 4. starting to pick up a little slowing for the east bay commute. i will have a complete traffic updates coming up in a bit. >>mark:following breaking news out of oakland this morning. where two people are dead after a shooting at a home on ghormley avenue, near 98th avenue. among the dead, a 1 -year- old boy. kron four's mike pelton is live at the scene where police have a large perimeter set up as they search for the suspect, mike? >>mike: mark several distraught family members are here and understandably so. a lot showed up this morning to find out they lost their son and grandson. it is still blocked off. investigators continue to process the scene. this is the home with his front porch light on. police told me shots rang out around 245 this morning from somewhere on the backside of the house. those bullets passed through and

hit two people sleeping in the back bedroom. sadly, both passed away. a 20 year- old man and a one-year-old baby boy named drew jackson. police say both were in the same bedroom and not-no one else was injured. no suspects or no known motive. they continue to go door-to- door to see who did this. looks like it will be out here for several more hours. >>mark: thank you. with a darya with more coverage >>darya: we have team coverage this morning. kron four's terisa estacio just spoke with a family member. she joins us live from children's hospital oakland. >>terisa: the one-year-old was brought here to oakland's children's hospital. unfortunately he lost his life and he died here. right now we are joined exclusively with drew jackson's aunt. margaret, i

can't imagine what you are going through. tell me a little bit about drew. >>: he was a happy and jolly baby. i know everyone says that about their nieces and nephews or kids but he was a of really jolly baby. the other day he just said he piety and now my sister has a very her only son. this is crazy. my sister has to breed her only son. --bury. he did not hurt anybody or do anything to anybody. he is innocent. >>darya: just losing that a very emotional interview. pleading to stop the

anything else and it's like they are to solving anything and they aren't doing anything. they're on their third police chief and he still not doing anything. they need to really pick it up because more kids are getting killed than anything else and no apparent need to vary their child. i am a mother myself and i cannot see me bring my only son. now my sister has to bury her only son. it's crazy. you get a phone call at 3:00 in the morning thatcher's son has been shot. you're when you're old. there is no words describing how someone can feel to lose their child. should anybody have to bury their child before their child buries them. you can have other kit but you can never replace that one. he was innocent and he did not deserve to get killed.

throughout the day. another developing story union workers and a-c transit have reached a tentative agreement averting a strike that would have happened at midnight this morning. both sides came to a deal with less than two hours left on the clock. the agreement gives employees a 9-point-5 percent raise over three years. but workers will have to contribute more to their medical benefits. union leaders says throughout negotiations, they always kept their riders in mind. the agreement is expected to go to a ratification vote >>darya:bart managers and attorney for its two largest unions will to meet before a board of investigator today over a contentious labor dispute a special three-person board will hear from the rail system's management and the unions about their contract dispute.

the hearing in comes after governor jerry brown ordered an investigation into the long and difficult bart talks, averting a strike that threatened to disrupt monday morning's commute. both sides also say that they plan to continue contract negotiations tomorrow and into the we are learning more details on what happened to that south west airlines that have difficulty landing. we are also keeping an eye on bay area weather and traffic. here's a live look at our bay bridge approach. we will get a check of drive times coming up at 615.

we are learning that president obama has canceled plans to meet with russian president vladimir to 10 next month. the move also reflects growing u.s. frustration with russian on an array of other issues including human rights. he will not meet with proven. --vladimir putin.

>>mark: welcome back to the kron4 morning news. this is all that is left of the home of a real castro. demolition has begun on the cleveland house where three women were held captive and raped over a decade. the house is being torn down as part of a deal that spared ariel castro a possible death sentence. he was sentenced last week to life in prison plus 1,000 years. one of the women imprisoned there, michelle knight, showed up early wednesday before the demolition began. she made a brief statement and released some balloons. prosecutors say ariel castro cried when he signed over the house deed and mentioned his "many happy

memories" there with the women. the women escaped may 6 when one of them broke part of a door and yelled for help. demolition is scheduled this morning at the ohio home where three women were held captive for nearly a decade. the house will be torn down as part of a deal that spared ariel castro from a possible death sentence. he received life in prison plus one thousand years. the demolition will leave several questions unanswered, including how the crimes went un-noticed for so long. the women were held for almost 10 years and repeatedly raped. they escaped in may when one of them broke part of a door and yelled for help.

the dow lost 93 points. the nasdaq down 27. and the s and p 500 losing 10. opening bell is at 6:30 this morning. freddie mac earned $5 billion from april through march, the seventh straight profitable quarter for the mortgage giant. the second-quarter gain compares with net income of $3 billion in the same period last year. freddie says the gain was due largely to increased profits from investments made to hedge against rising interest rates. that helped offset losses on mortgages during the quarter. the news comes as legislation in both the house and senate looks to phase out fannie mae and freddie mac over five years. >>james: a fiat that can drive on water but the automaker did make waves and

oakland children's hospital. he was pronounced dead upon his arrival. the little baby boy's name was drew jackson. he would have turned to in march. just a few minutes ago i spoke with drew jackson's not in connection with her nephew. she says this is just unbelievable. this tragedy to strike a family. >>: he was killed in his sleep. he was only one. underste are shooting up houses that have kids in it. i don't understand. there was just a little girl who opened up the front door and got killed. this does not make any sense. he was only one in three and now my sister has to bury her only son because people want to be senseless out here and don't care. it is the to find people that did it and call it a day because he was only one. he was a happy baby. >>terisa: that was margaret
