thousands of firefighters are battling a wildfire burning in california. the latest on the injuries and damaged it has caused. good morning everyone, thank you for joining us this thursday august 8th. i'm james fletcher. the c-h-p is trying to figure out what caused an accident that killed on person and injured another near woodside. the accident happened last night around 7 on skyline boulevard about three miles south of la honda road. butone person was not breathing when paramedics arrived and was pronounced. a second person was airlifted to stanford hospital with major injuries.

the suspects escaped in a gold s-u-v. police say that pg&e workers always have i.d. on them and my of and drive clearly marked vehicles. a registered sex offender is behind bars this morning after police say he kidnapped a woman from a k- mart parking lot in antioch. edpolice say this man, kevin harvey kidnapped the victim at gunpoint monday afternoon. he then forced her to drive to different locations. where he sexually assaulted her. the victim eventually managed to escape to a nearby home and call police. the next day, police say harvey brandished a handgun at the somersville towne center.

yesterday members of a board of inquiry formed by govenor jerry brown heard arguments from both sides regarding the ongoing labor dispute. bart's senior attorney says, management and the unions are 100 - million dollars apart in their contract proposals, which involve salary, pension and healthcare contributions. the two sides can't even agree on whether or not a 60-day contract extention would do any good. the board has until sunday to make its' recommendation to the governor. to either impose the 60- day cooling off period, or to make both sides return to the bargaining table.

this crazy crash caught on camera. authorities say the driver of a tourist bus in china was reversing on a highway after he missed an exit. that's when a semi-truck slammed into the bus. the driver and passengers are seen being flung from their seats and out the window as the bus rolled over in the crash. 22 people suffered various injuries.
