fletcher. thanks for joining us on this friday august 9th. search efforts will resume this morning for missing oakland woman sandra coke. investigators are now focusing their search efforts on a body of water at the solano county fair grounds. the search will resume at 8- am this morning for missing oakland woman sandra coke. she went missing sunday afternoon. police have focused their search efforts on a body of water in vallejo where they conducted a massive search last night. police say they are questioning a person of

interest. 56-year-old randy alana was seen with coke on the night she disappeared. alana is a high-risk sex offender. police say he has not yet been accused but he remains in custody on a parole violation. investigators believe that lake chabot near the solano county fairgrounds in vallejo may be a key location in the search for coke. coke's family and friends have offered a 100-thousand dollar reward for any information leading to her whereabouts. we also spoke with a close friend of sandra coke's. she says she last saw her july 4th. coke's friend says she did mitigation work, helping inmates on death row. she says she's trying not to think something bad happened to coke. and is assuming for now, that she's ok. a national manhunt is on for kidnapping and murder suspect james dimaggio. dimaggio is suspected of abducting as many as two children in california. after killing their mother in a fire.

a police spokeswoman said investigators had uncovered new information that the situation may be even more dangerous. investigators are also cautioning the public to not approach the suspect's car if spotted -- because it too could be rigged with explosives. authorities are including parts of canada and mexico in the hunt for dimaggio. in addition to california, three more u-s states have issued amber alerts. we have new video in this morning out of concord. where the driver of what's believed to be a stolen pickup truck crashed into the back fence of a home. this happened just before 1 o clock on bailey road. the truck was reportedly stolen from downtown concord around todos santos park. police chased the driver off the freeway and onto bailey. the driver lost control and slammed into a fence. police arrested the male driver and took him to the hospital with minor injuries. a female passenger was also taken into custody. the possibility of a bart strike still very real this morning. as the two sides continue to fight over

details like salary and health benefits. right now, a board of inquiry appointed by governor brown is working on a report to turn in. the governor may order a 60 day cooling off period so trains will keep running while bart and its unions continue to negotiate. at the same time, the unions are suggesting they may just issue a 48-hour strike notice depending on how talks go today. in san jose,

an arrest has been made in the killing of 19- year-old san jose state student. kimberly chico. she was shot and killed last saturday morning, near the intersection of south second and east san salvador streets. the suspect, identified as 23-year- old johnny lozano, was booked on homicide charges. and being a felon in possession of a gun. police say chico was an innocent victim, in the wrong place at the wrong time. the shooting happened as bars were closing in downtown san jose. south of first street. more arrests could still come in this case. a federal class-action lawsuit claims that staff at juvenile hall in martinez are defying state mandates regarding special needs students. of the roughly 32 percent of contra costa juvenile hall students who require some form of special education, many are routinely denied access to the special education they

did >>darya: it is 410. the crash of asiana flight 2-14 was 32 days ago. three people were killed and injured. recovery has been difficult for survivors and their families. for one victim recovery has resulted in a lawsuit. henry xie spoke with kron- 4's philippe djegal he says, the pain and nightmares are making it difficult for him to go home. the crash of asiana flight 2-14 has left china native henry xie with a fractured spine. that's why he is wearing a brace. his dentures were also broken.

nearly 10 -thousand inmates behind bars. california governeor jerry brown is turning back to private prisons for help. just eight months ago, governor brown put an end to california's use of private prisons to handle prison overcrowding. now the governor wants to use them as an alternative. to releasing thousands of south prisoners early as

ordered by federal judges. the administration will ask judges to let the state move at least 4,000 inmates to private cells in california and other states. as one way of reducing overcrowding in the state's major prisons. the court deadline is the end of the year. the sheriff of maricopa county, arizona, is ordering all of his deputies to carry ar-15 assault rifles 24 hours per day. sheriff joe arpaio announced the new requirement thursday --the same day a county detention officer was shot and killed in his driveway. the county recently acquired 400 a-r-15 assault rifles. arpaio says even off-duty

kron4's maureen kelly has the disturbing details. here you can see the german shepherd arriving at his new foster home. he's just be released from the bed after his shoulder and left front leg were amputated. the reason they have to be removed. it was because he was found monday with a compound fracture that is believed to have been left untreated for two weeks. his legs so badly mangled. at least blocked out the wounds in this vote their release. it wasn't pretty. at around 930 monday morning and animal control officer responding to a report about an injured bob showed up here to this corner in the springtime area. she could immediately see that the dog was severely injured and in terrible pain. his leg was described as looking like hamburger meat with both exposed and effective dead tissue is suffering unimaginable. that you can't fix this at home. it's inhumane.

the school that the man may be headed toward campus. skyline college is adjacent to a jail. authorities searched the area but never found the man. who was described as a white male in his early 40s wearing a blue plaid shirt and a baseball hat. the lockdown was lifted two hours later but the campus was closed for the night.

here's a picture of coke and the person of interest randy alana. the two dated 20 years ago. and police say they were last seen the evening of august 4th when she disappeared. she reportedly left from her oakland home to follow up on a tip of her missing at beloved dog after a break and in may. alana is already in jail on unrelated charges. he is being held without bail at santa rita jail in dublin. this is police spokeswoman donna watson. >>: we are still treating this as a missing person but we're also looking at this from an ankle if there is i'll play involved. the investigation has led us to the fair grounds area. that
