and southbound 101 also looking decent. august 21st. 24 students have been arrested after a sit-in at san francisco city hall yesterday. night. dozens of san francisco city college students gathered to protest the decision to revoke their school's accreditation. the students were demanding to meet with mayor ed lee face to face. they want him to take a public stand in support of city college. this comes after the department of education issued a letter finding fault with the accrediting process for city college. mayor ed lee's office released a statement in response to the protests. it says, "mayor lee is committed to keeping city college open, accredited, and available to the thousands of san franciscans who rely on it. the mayor has made this a priority and he supports the college's appeal underway and supports the work of the special trustee who are working to reform and rescue city college." >> some breaking news out of

east palo alto a facfatal shooting. this 19 year-old man was found in his car. the teenager was found where he was pronounced dead. will tran is on the scene and we will have a live update. >> after deliberating less than eight hours. a marin county jury found joseph naso guilty of killing four women. in the 1970s and 1990's.. naso acted as his own attorney in the two- month long trial. this is video during closing arguments last week. the same jury will reconvene for the penalty phase of the trial in september. prosecutors are seeking the death penalty. >> napa county has confirmed its first human case of west nile virus this year. according to napa county public health officials, a 65-year-old man developed west nile virus meningitis.

the man has made a full recovery. the county also confirmed its first dead bird that tested positive for the virus on monday. the western scrub jay was found in the calistoga area on august ninth. west nile symptoms include high fever, headache, nausea, and disorientation that can last between a few days to several weeks. >> the bay bridge will be closed exactly a week from today as final preparations are made to open the new span. the bay bridge. will close starting wednesday night, august 28th. during that time -- cal- trans will need to connect the new span to both yerba buena island. and the toll plaza. then crews will need to grind and pave the lanes. cal- trans will also be demolishing a portion of the old bridge, in order to make way for a temporary connector ramp. which will allow access to the pedestrian walkway on the new bridge. >> aaa predicts 34-million americans will travel more than 50 miles to celebrate

fun of it." a former san antonio teacher accused of directing students to hit a schoolmate for being a bully has been sentenced to 30 days in jail. cynthia ambrose also was ordered tuesday to serve two years' probation. she was convicted in june of official oppression, a misdemeanor. prosecutors say the 44-year- old former kindergarten teacher at salinas elementary school told her students in may 2012 to line up and hit the 6-year-old boy so he knows "how it feels to be bullied." the san antonio express-news reports state district judge prevent ambrose from maximum probation term allowed. he is allowing her to serve senseless. he was an excellent guy on his training schedule. >> the family say that they are trying to do with this tragedy 9,000 mi. away in millburnmelbourne, australia. >> sent the o a teacher, cynthia

area all the time. >> and it is completely normal to have sharks but it is not common for them to shut down the beach. >> the last time stinson beach was closed due to a shark sighting was in 20-11. lifeguards say the beach will open on sunday. but if another shark is sighted they say they won't hesitate to extend the closure. >> a horse is being treated after it was attacked by a pitbull in san mateo county. on monday night the horse was in an open field behind its owners home when the dog attacked it. a witness had to hit the pit bull in the head with a rake to free the horse. the dog was taken into custody by the peninsula humane society. the horse was bleeding from its neck and legs, but will survive. it was not clear if the dogs owner was present at the time of the attack. >> a pittsburg family traumatized. following a violent break-in. it happened around 10 p-m monday night. investigators say, two suspects avoided the home security system, by entering through a second

closed exactly a week from today as final preparations are underway to open the new span. the bridge will be closed to traffic starting wednesday night, august 28th. during that time, cal-trans will need to connect the new span to both yerba buena island. and the toll plaza. crews will then need to grind and pave the lanes. cal-trans will also be demolishing a portion of the old bridge, in order to make way for a temporary connector ramp. which will allow access to the pedestrian walkway on the new span. the bridge is expected to reopen on that tuesday morning after labor day. >> in just two hours a military judge plans to announce this morning what sentence she will hand down against bradley manning. manning faces up to 90 years behind bars for the largest leak of classified information about the wars in iraq and afghanistan. the judge reconvened the sentencing phase yesterday and noted the soldier has over 12-hundred days of detention credit to

a 20-year-old man is charged in a georgia elementary school shooting. fortunately no one was injured. dekalb county police say the suspect, identified as michael brandon hill, held one or two staff members in the front office captive. as officers swarmed the campus outside, hill shot at them at least half a dozen times with an assault rifle and they returned fire. hill then surrendered and faces several charges. an elementary school bookkeeper says she worked to convince hill to put down his weapons. antoinette tuff said that hill told her he was sorry, but that he was willing to die. >> japan's nuclear watchdog says it's taking the leaking of radioactive water at the crippled fukushima nuclear power plant seriously. it may reclassify the event as a "serious incident" instead of "an anomaly." the plant's operator says 80-thousand gallons of
