now at six. i feel shellshocked. generations of memories lost to the yosemite fire. the flames consuming camp mather in tuolumne county. we have a close up look at the damage the fire burning in and outside yosemite national park continues to rage. here's the latest. the fire has now burned almost 150 thousand acres. that's almost triple what it was at this time on friday. and it's now the 13th biggest fire in state history. the good news. firefighters say containment is up to 15 percent. that's up from five percent on friday and seven on saturday.

and while the fire line is about a mile away from the hetch hetchy water reservoir, water and power supplies for san francisco are not affected. kron-4's charles clifford is in tuolomne county -- and he saw first-hand the overwhelming damage this fire has caused. on monday.... in tuolumne county, charels clifford kron4 news says the news of the camp's

destruction is hard to take for many of the people who have grown up going there. here you can see photos of what the camp looked like before the fire. it's been around for more than 90 years. we spoke to one former counselor who says he's been grieving by phone and on facebook with some of the thousands of people who love this location. he explains why it was so special. peple are deviated and hearthbroken

on the rim fire information. to our other developing story. we are now two days away from the bay bridge shutdown. the bridge will close wednesday night at 8 o'clock. and reopen at five a-m on september third. during the shutdown. area roads are expected to be packed. kron 4's justine waldman can get around. while the bay bridge is closed, bay area transit some of the slack. when the bridge shuts down. but as dan kerman reports. there are still concerns that bart may not be able to do what it is planning. bart has promised to run overnight service during the bridge closure to do that they'll need an average of

13 to 14 train operators and 18 station agents but at a transit agency admitted they trains will run 24 hours a day because at this point they don't have the staff lined up for that overnight service in fact the signup sheets just went up still bart management says despite its ongoing labor dispute, overnight trains. so here's the plan during those overnight hours when the trains typically don't run, bart will run 2 lines concord to sfo. and el cerrito del norte to dublin stop at macarthur station which will allow you to transfer. now not every station will be open. just 14 of them. you can see them here in bold during the 4 day labor day weekend bridge closure back in 2009, nearly 17=thousand people took advantage of that overnight service. overnight staffing set early next week. dan kerman kron 4 news. as sof

and more good news about the bridge today. the tests caltrans has done to check how the steel looking good. replaced. the tests started this month, after 32 rods that were installed on the bridge back in 2008 snapped

in the east bay beware, that is the message being sent out by two different police departments after burglars gain access to residents home by convincing them they city officials. as kron four's terisa estacio reports, these latest crimes may be connected to other ones in the bay area where residents dollars. it was here on moore drive in fremont where police say

a resident was burglarized after a woman came to her door claiming she was looking for a snake that had gotten loose and bitten a the suspect said she needed access to the residents backyard alarmed, the resident let the woman in the female suspect reportedly said she was from animal services. once in the backyard the female suspect. then directed the resident have have everyone come outside the home, while she checked things out. it was then police say another male suspect entered the home and removed cash and jewelry. earlier on saturday hough residents here in the hillview montecito area of niles, also in fremont reported that two females were going door to door telling a similar tale about a snake. saying they needed to go into people's yards to measure them for traps. police say one female matched the description in the moore burglary medium build woman, 5 feet tall, pierced tongue with ball on shirt with a patch that read and this weekend, yet another case also in the niles area of a woman going

man did you find him to be? randy alana is a career criminal. and is also considered one of the most dangerous inmates at the santa rita jail. during our 30 minutes aggressive, quickly agitated.yet approachable. he looked very similar to this other mug shot. he had a mustache and glasses. and wore the red prison jump suit. which indicates he needs higher security. alana is only allowed out of his cell for 1-hour a day. and is kept away from other inmates. his criminal history inclues rape, kidnapping and manslaughter.for killing a fellow jail inmate in the 80s. alana also told me.that he and sandra loved each other. and they wanted to get married. coke dissapeared from her oakland home on august 4th. her body was found in vacaville on august 9th. police took alana in. as a person of interest. in the case. alana is being held in the

an ohio hospital is appealing for guardianship of a 10-year-old amish girl. otherwise, the hospital says the girl will die. as a-j ross reports, the girl has leukemia -- and her parents have decided to stop her chemotherapy. a pending legal battle between doctors at akron children's hospital and an amish couple from medina county could easily mean life or death for 10-year- old sarah hershberger. "the good news is with treatment currently the prognosis is about 85% five year survival so this is a very treatable illness." sarah was diagnosed with leukemia and t-cell lymphoma in april. her parents initially consented to chemo, but ordered doctors to stop. "her family opted to not continue additional traditional chemotherapy and was seeking more of a holistic or natural way of treating this disease."

doctor rob mcgregor says the hospital's ethics committee pleaded with sarah's parents to resume chemo. with her cancer growing and becoming more resistant to treatment, the hospital then filed a lawsuit seeking emergency guardianship over sarah. "her family is advocating for what they think is in her best interest." "however, it's our obligation to do what's ethically and legally right by the child." according to court records sarah's parents quote" believed chemotherapy was killing her." the court also received a note from sarah stating "pleeeaasse let my parents take care of me. i feel like running and playing and working again." on july 31st, a medina county probate judge denied the hospital's application for guardianship. akron children's is now appealing that decision. appealing that decision. now we'll hagoodnight.ts
