can be 4,000 firefighters fighting this fire. asfifire started two employesweekweeks ago. be one for the record books. this is time lapse video of that fire. it is the seventh-largest wildfire in california history. more than 4,000 firefighters are battling the blaze, consuming homes. several areas are under evacuation. the fire started last monday and as of today, the fire is only 30-percent contained.

yosemite national park. and, we are finally getting a look at the hetch hetchy reservoir i'm actually standing on the dam, right now. the reservoir -- difficult to see because of an inversion. permitting. the smoke is surrounding this entire valley, and that's because the cool air over the night has basically stayed on top of the smoke. keeping it in this area. but as it heats up, the smoke will discipate. but we have been told, regardless, that the hetch hetchy reservoir is safe. and, that fire fighters are doing whatever they can to protect it. sot- kevin hitchcock/fire division chief five fire engines are spread out surrounding the reservoir. the area is being monitored by a strike team made up of 22 fire fighters. with the flames less than a quarter mile away from the water. crews are working 24 hour shifts to ensure the reservoir isn't damaged. fire officials say the fire hasn't impacted the water

developing tonight. fast-food workers want their wages 'super-sized'. workers walked off the job food spots today. it's all part of a national movement. aimed at boosting their pay and benefits. right now -- organizers say most fast food workers only make about 8-dollars an hour. kron4's haaziq madyun was at one of the rallys.

it was a day of protests in dozens of cities across the u.s. least 50 cities - protesting their wages. these are workers in columbia missouri.who chose to dance to get the attention of passers-by. today marked the largest yet. with some restaurants that were targeted staying open.while others had to shut down because they didn't have enough workers. in denver.dozens of fast food workers decided notbut to stream inside and fill up all available space.

right now, many fast-food workers make $7.25 an hour.which amounts to

happening now. the yosemite fire continues to grow. here's the latest. the fire has grown since yesterday. but not by much. acres, but only up about three hundred acres from 24 hours ago. evacuation orders have actually been lifted in tuolomne city. ponderosa hills remains under the orders. fighting the rim fire, almost seven hundred are inmates from california coorectional facilities. while firefighters are starting to get a better handle over the fire, other crews are hoping to save one treasured resource -- the sequoia trees. in tuolomne county with pat pat >> and after discussing their plan the u-s park service heads into the forest with tools the two sequoia groves in question? the tuolumne and merced

groves. no roads enter these areas. crews hike two to three miles to get here. the park service says the prep work to save these state treasures is almost complete. crews are digging up fire lines several feet wide, in case flames approach. sprinklers have also been set-up around the sequoia's to moisten the fuels. this makes them less likely to burn. and, check this out. fire crews wrapping the entire historic ranger's cabin near crane flat with fire retardant material. the park service says if the fire makes its way to this area. crews will be ready. here at the incident command post, fire officials say this fire has now cost more than 39 million dollars to fight. and, based on the been built. and that are being constructed.

new at six, sheriff's deputies have identified the suspect in a bizarre 'man bites dog' case as 34- year-old frank garcia of san

jose. as kron four's rob fladeboe reports now, deputies say garcia was on drugs when he fought and bit the dog and the whole thing was captured on video. from his front porch here on raymorubio watched as another neighbor shot this cell video as a dozen deputies tried to subdue garcia, who was armed with a knife. back to the video now as the suspect refuses to drop the knife and then stabs himself. at that point, handlers release their canine 'ski' who, along with several

deputies, wrestle the suspect to the ground but not before he manages to punch and choke and actually bite the dog. neighbors say deputies showed a lot of restraint in dealing with the man. had it not been for ski, carl rubio says deputies may have had to shoot him. unbelievable.
