they have now figured out what caused the yosemite wildfire. the news at five is ahead. breaking news on kron 4. a deadly hit-and-run on the streets of san francisco. what we know about the victim and the criminal.mpolice are looking for. i'm pam moore. the news at five is next. breaking news. a hit-and-run crash in san francisco. one woman is dead. and the suspect vehicle apparently belonged to the city. kron 4's john fenoglo is live at the scene. john what is the latest? holly park is in san francisco's bernal heights neighborhood. just north of 280 around where it intersects with 101. the incident was near highland avenue. we'll keep you posted on this story as we learn more information. tonight at five. firefighters have pinned down the cause of the yosemite wildfire. the blaze has burned more than 370- square miles. and is 80-percent contained. now. charles clifford is live in the newsroom. he has more on what sparked it all. charles? >> reporter: today the national forest service said it was a hunter who started the rim fire back on august 17th. investigators believe that hunter set an illegal campfire in this area to the west of yosemite national park, near the town of groveland. within hours the fire had grown out of control. this is an animation of how the wildfire has spread since then, expanding out in all directions and eventually reaching into yosemite. the forest service also said today that they do not think the fire was started by an illegal marijuana grow. no arrests have been made.and the hunter's identity is not being made public while the investigation continues.

although containment is at 80 percent, firefighters say they probably wont have full control of this fire until september 20th. in the newsroom, charles clifford kron 4 news >> some new, really compelling pictures are emerging today from crews who have been battling the rim fire from the air. these picture come to us from the california air national guard based in mountain view. this crew of six airmen flew 73 missions and dumped roughly 450 bucket-loads of water on the fire for a total of some 210-thousand gallons. the crew has returned to mountain view as firefighters have gained more and more control.but they're ready to re-deploy if needed. in san jose, a suspect is now in custody in connection with the apparent murder of this woman, 49-year-old reina figueroa, but police are saying very little about the case beyond that. we know that figeroa's body was found by her husband. in her car near san antonio elementary school. when she failed to return home on saturday after running some errands. police say, the arrest was based on probable cause and that the suspect and the victim knew each other, but so far, police have not released the suspect's name pending a review of the case by the district attorney. miuch more on this story at six. two home intruders shot, one of them killed by a homeowner, after breaking into a residence in san mateo. police say, a shootout broke out around 11-30- last night, on the 1500 -block of lodi avenue, near south norfolk street. authorities say, three intruders confronted four residents inside the home. one resident was hit in the shooting, and is recovering tonight. the suspect who was killed. has been identified as 23 -
