>> a large fire near mount diablo is growing this morning, forcing residents to evacuate. this is video from our helicopter partnership with abc 7 news. the fire was reported off of morgan territory road on the eastern side of the mountain yesterday afternoon. lets turn to kron four's will tran who is live in clayton with the latest on the fire and evacuations. what can you tell us this morning will? we just had a news conference in new numbers have came man overnight. the fire is now 1,600 a.. you can say is the thick black smoke that is reaching to the sky. there is a museum and a tower up there. they

want to protect its. they just want to make sure that the fire does not reach to the towers. here is video that we proceed from yesterday. it started about 1:20 p.m. and they are not sure how it's started. they believe that it is 100 homes that have been evacuate. there has been one person and injured. it is very difficult, and the reason is because it is just high temperatures and it is very dry. if you have all these things together it will not take them one day but days to get under containment. i had a chance to talk to the battalion chief earlier and this is what he had to say. >> right now it is moving towards that is specially dispatched fire engines to

>> the time is 6:30 a.m.. the top story is the fire that is burning on mt. diablo. will tran is live in clayton with the latest. >> the fire continues to grow. the numbers are getting bigger. when they shut down as far as the last information is that 75 homes were evacuated. but when we carried the news conference there saying that the number of homes are now 100. the number of acres have also wrong. there are now at 1,600 a.. you can see all the smoke that is reaching. they have 20 firefighters that are dedicated to

protecting the towers. so far, none of the homes are threatened because this is a very remote area. they were fearful for the life of the fees one that told them to get out. it is a very rugged area with plenty of fuel to burn. i had a chance to talk to the spokesperson and this is what he had to say about the challenges. >> california has experienced one of the driest season right now. the fuel that is on the mountains are extremely dry. this fire has very little wind so it is a been driven by the fuel that is up there. if you have been on mount dial the you know it is very steep. the access is really no one to hamper us as far as getting to it. that is where the helicopters will come in. >> there are also planning to have more firefighters.
