good morning, top stories we are following on this wednesday, september 11th. the president addressing the nation about the crisis in syria. we'll have an update on how the president defended his position on wanting to intervene. and a wildfire continues to burn on mount diablo. we'll have the latest on containment. good morning everyone i'm anny hong. and i'm james fletcher. thanks for joining us this morning.

>>james: 414 is the time. we have some new video of the damage from the yosemite fire. this shows the destruction in the tuolumne river watershed. a san francisco based nonprofit group. the tuolumne river trust - launched a new campaign to raise money to help restore the tuolumne river watershed. the river connects with the hetch hetchy system which provides water to millions of bay area residents. the yosemite fire is still at 80-percent containment.after burning more than 250-thousand acres. we've learned the cost of this wildfire. has reached 100- million dollars. a san francisco public utilities commission official says, only 1- percent of the hetch hetchy watershed was affected by the fire.

the hetch hetchy provides water and other services to 2- point-6 million bay area residents. power service was not affected, but about 900- thousand dollars was spent on purchasing alternative energy. at this point, officials say -- ash from the yosemite fire did not affect water quality. >>james:on to another wildfire we are following here on the kron four morning news. firefighters are gaining control of the "clover fire" that's burning in shasta county. here is video from the scene. officials say lighter winds have helped crews extend containment to 40-percent. the fire has destroyed 30 homes after breaking out on monday, when gusty winds quickly fanned the fire to more than 11 square miles. more than a thousand fire fighters are currently

he faces up to eight years in prison after being charged with aggravated vehicular homicide. los angeles county has approved 100-thousand- dollars in rewards for people who helped authorities track down fired l-a policeman christopher dorner-- near the end of his killing rampage. the board of supervisors voted today to pay 80- thousand to karen and jim reynolds, who contacted authorities after dorner tied them up in their big bear cabin and stole their car. another 20-thousand will go to daniel mcgowan, who reported seeing dorner's burning pickup on a ski hill. various agencies had offered a total of one- million dollars in rewards. several dozen people reported illness after eating a brand of yogurt that was recently the subject of a voluntary recall. the fda says it has gotten

at least 89 reports of people getting sick after eating chobani greek-style yogurt. the agency says those reports haven't been confirmed. chobani voluntarily recalled some yogurts last week after customer complaints about swollen or bloated packages. the new york based company released a statement saying its investigation revealed a type of mold commonly found in the dairy environment. the voluntary recall information can be found on the fda's website. the family of a woman who died after falling from a roller coaster near dallas is seeking compensation from the theme park. rosa esparza fell out of her seat while riding the texas giant on july 19th.

the suit claims the roller coaster's safety security light system malfunctioned during espara's ride. commercial litigation attorney dan madden says he expects six flags will try to settle the suit quickly. the family is seeking at least one-million dollars in damages. park officials plan to re- open the texas giant this weekend.

right now -- all evacuation orders have been lifted. and all roads have been reopened. many resident on morgan territory lane in clayton were never told to evacuate from the mount diablo fire. but that changed quickly when the wind direction shifted last night. firefighters were no longer focused on this portion of profs the mountain because the fire was headed in another direction. but once the wind shifted gears, they realized the flames were heading there way.

p-g and e says it expects to pay more than half a billion connection with the deadly 2010 pipeline explosion in san bruno.

in a filing with federal regulators, the company says it will pay a total of 565 million dollars in legal settlements. that includes 455 million dollars p-g and e has already agreed to pay and 110 million dollars it expects to pay in other claims. there are still two claims pending. eight people died and more than 30 homes were destroyed in that explosion back in september of 2010. president obama has nomiated u-s representative barbara lee from oakland as a representative to the 68th session of the united nations general assembly. the session begins later this month and will conclude in december. lee's current term in the white house, which ends in 2014-- will not be affected by the nomination. she's been serving as a representative for the east

revenue in 2014, up from $582.8 million this year. an appeals court has thrown out googles attet to dismiss a lawsuit stating it violated federal wiretap laws when it unintentionally collected personal user data for its street view mapping tool. the 9th us circuit court ruled google should be held liable under the u.s.

federal wiretap act for accidentally collecting fragments of personal and sensitive data, including user passwords and entire e-mail, from home wireless broadband networks. the data had been gathered while its street view vehicles, equipped with wi- fi-sniffing tools, roamed the streets capturing data for the location-based service.

fire officials are now considering upgrading the security of firehouses. a mc-donald's manager has been arrested. suspected of robbing his own restaurant and another one in san mateo. police arrested 42 year old felix becarra after an officer followed a vehicle linked to the robbery in san mateo.

investigators then connected becarra to a robbery at a pleasanton mc- donald's. where he worked as a manager. in both cases, the robber forced employees into a refrigerator at gunpoint. becarra became a suspect when one of the employees said the masked man had eyes similar to her manager's.

the state assembly has approved legislation that requires limousine operators to have emergency exits. the bill stems from two limo fires in the bay area earlier this year. this is video from the limo fire on the san mateo bridge back in may. five women were trapped inside and died. under the bill, limousines that carry fewer than 10 passengers would be required to have two push out windows and two rear
