convicted child molester jerry sandusky should get a new trial.a three-judge appeals court in pennsylvania heard a bid tuesday on behalf of the former penn state assistant football coach for a new trial on sexual assault charges. andy mehalshick reports. >> reporter:sandusky, a former penn state assistant coach was convicted last year of sexually molesting 10 young boys over a 15 year period. >> reporter:defense lawyers argued several issues including that they were not given enough time to prepare an adequate defense for sandusky. >> reporter:attorney norris gelman told the state superior court judges that the delay in reporting crimes by sandusky's victims should have been considered by the jury. >>"and the delay ranged from 16 years, 14 years, two or three had a 12-year delay, there was a 9-year delay. there was only one prompt report and that was of having a shower." >> reporter:gelman also said prosecutors gave the jury a negative view of jerry sandusky not testifying, saying he did talk to bob costas on nbc in the now infamous interview in the days after sandusky's

the loss. >> reporter:mike delorenzo with his wife cathy are emotionally shellshocked over the senseless murder of mike's older sister 51 year old mary delorenzo knight.who worked as an information technology contractor at the navy yard. and was one of the 12 people gunned down by the former navy reservist. this picture shows mary and mike as children.that's their mother in the middle. mike says they were very close growing up. he says his sister enjoyed her job.and had just recently gotten a promotion.she also enjoyed passing on her knowlegde to young people.working as an adjunct professor at a local community college. mary was the loving mother of two grown daughters.one of whom had just recently married. her sister in law says she was also a wonderful aunt.despite living on the other side of the country. mary also leaves behind her parents in north carolina and younger sister in florida. >> the audience felt close

>> catherine: there's new video, released by the miami herald, from inside the home of derek medina. medina is accused of killing his wife and posting about it on facebook. details. >> reporter: jennifer alfonso is in the kitchen. she picks up a bottle of dish washing detergent. she won't leave this room alive. the man walking in is her husband derek medina. the video, obtained by the miami herald, is silent. alfonso is now out of frame and medina's back is to the camera. you can see just the top of his head. at one point he walks out and steps back in. it appears he and alfonso are exchanging words.medina leaves the kitchen walks down the hall and then returns. you can't see it, but authorities say he has a gun. alfonso probably has no idea she is
