bridge. we have no problems getting to come down the nimitz. >> firefighters battled a fire that broke out on yerba buena island that caused major traffic across the bay bridge. >> here is video of that fire. it started just before eight last night. the c-h-p says, all of the eastbound lanes are open. and only the off- ramp to treasure island going westbound, remains closed. residents on treasure island said the fire moved fast and got uncomfortably close to homes. >> ."at around 8:15 i came to the window overlooking the bridge and could see the flames coming up the hill. it was coming up fast. i went and got my roommate and we went and got our neighbors. there's only one

injuries in those shootings. >> a earthquake that shook parts of the eat bay last night-- has been downgraded from a three-point- one magnitude earthquake to a magnitude three earthquake. the u-s-g-s reported the earthquake struck just before 9: 30 and was centered two- miles east- northeast of berkeley. no reports of any injuries of damage. >> police in fremont are asking investigating a hit- and-run crash that injured a bicyclist last month. police say on september 25th, there was a crash between a car and a bicyclist at the intersection of paseo padre parkway and washington boulevard. arriving officers found a non-responsive 20-year-old woman laying in the crosswalk with a damaged bicycle. a witness said a black vehicle -- possibly a 4- door -- drove through the intersection and struck the bicyclist. the driver did not stop or return to the scene. police say it is possible that the driver was unaware of the impact

>> a man was killed and two people injured when an s-u-v struck a pole in san jose. the accident happened at the intersection of blossom hill road and winfield boulevard just before one a- m sunday morning. police say a 2006 infiniti s-u-v was speeding and apparently struck pole. forthe male driver, whose name has not been released, died at the scene. two female passengers were taken to a hospital with serious injuries. no other vehicles appeared to have been involved in the crash. >> coming up on the kron4 morning news. nearly all of the 1200 s a safety inspectors and staffs and inspectors were told to take the forced unpaid time off during the government shut down. now there is concern about how that will impact airlines. details

kerry met with russian foreign minister sergei lavrov in bali this week. kerry is in indonesia for the asia pacific economic cooperation summit, sitting in for president obama who opted not to attend in light of the government shutdown. kerry and lavrov's get together was the first high-level u-s - russian meeting since the u-n security council voted unanimously to require syria to eliminate its stockpile of chemical weapons. on sunday, the u-n team in syria tasked with enforcing the security council's decision announced that syria has begun destroying its chemical weapons. >> testimony is expected to begin soon in the cleveland trial of a onetime fugitive charged in a 100-million- dollar multistate fraud under the guise of helping navy veterans. the jury was selected last week, and testimony is expected to begin today following opening statements by both sides. the 67 year old defendant calls himself bobby thompson. authorities identify him as harvard-trained lawyer and

>> happening now, off one on interstate 80 at east karo son, near richmond is close to this morning. this is after a tractor-trailer overturned overnight. kron4 mike pelton is live at the scene with an update. they have this entire area blocked off this overturned tanker is some eastern part of the ram. here is the videos. >> you concede that this second tanker is on its side. fire crews stated they are not sure how this happens. the authorities are now speaking with the driver
