>> a proposal to establish citywide park closure hours in san francisco was passed by a board of supervisors committee. the legislation would establish closure hours of midnight to 5 a-m. at most parks around the city. the proposal is an attempt to combat vandalism and illegal dumping in parks-- which cost san francisco more than 900-thousand- dollars annually to clean up. violators would face a fine of up to 100- dollars for a first offense, with escalating fines for subsequent offenses. the legislation will come in front of the full board at its october 29th meeting. >>the santa clara county sheriff's office says the streets are a little safer-- after seizing close to a million -and a half- dollars in drugs from a san jose home. the bust was the culmination of a two- year investigation by the sheriff's office -- confiscating crystal meth, cocaine and heroin. several weapons and 825 -thousand dollars in cash. detectives believe it is all part of a meth distribution organization. they say the operation is run by this man -- jose
