there were a lot of takers, but in the end, six puppies that were abandoned in the trash in lake tahoe have found new homes. the puppies. which are a doberman-collie mix. were nursed back to health after they were found in a box in a trash bin just hours after they were born. four other puppies in the litter died a couple of days after being rescued back in july. the humane society received as many as 75 applications from across the country for the dogs. they've all been adopted at home in the reno-tahoe area
