fatal crash. two contract workers were hit by a car around 2:40 this morning. kron four's yoli aceves is live at the scene with an update, yoli? >> because it is say active scene they have to investigate and now at 6:30 a.m. they have pushed this time to indefinite because they're not sure when these lines will reopen they stated that they have to be very thorough. doors are originally, there was a drunk driver and that crashed into two workers and one of the workers was sent to the hospital and he is suffering minor injuries. unfortunate, the other worker was killed. the driver hisself, was injured

very seriously. they actually did some preliminary tests to see if he was drunk at the time and he had set actually get extricated out of his car. he had to be taken to the hospital and they had to take care of some of his injuries. at the hospital they were able to confirm that he was under the informeinfluence. >> this is the north homicide and it is still causing a back up. you can see some of the back up there quite a bit of cars but once you pass this thing, it seems to the traffic is starting to flow little bit better but you still may want to avoid this area. >> even though it is a short distance it will take your while.

>> morning. police respond to 9-1-1 calls and find a woman sufering from gunshot wounds. this all happening near tennyson road and sleepy hollow avenue in hayward. kron four's mike pelton is live at the scene with an update. mike? >> the victim was taken to the hospital with life- threatening injuries that received that shots were fired at this apartment complex. they stated it is found this woman suffering from gunshot wounds. a neighbor stated that the victim lives here but although police cannot confirm that. at this point, they say that it is a mystery. >> right now, there is not a lot of information for us to go on. our investigators are

working every angle. >> it is unaware whether or not she lives there or if she was just visiting. we're not sure. we have not identified that. >> the victim is at a nearby hospital and what surgery. she is currently listed in critical condition. at this point, police have no suspects or suspect information. there have been several shootings at this apartment complex in the past. just a few months ago i coverage where a officer was shot during a domestic dispute. one arrest the dead stated that he's going to pack up his fingers and toes. >residents that i spoke with stated that he is just want to pack up his things and moved. >> firefighters have just

faces child endangerment charges after leaving his two young children alone in a vehicle for more than 14 hours. julio reyes was taken into custody wednesday night. more than 24 hours after leaving his children behind in an s-u-v on hillview drive. someone called 9-1-1 wednesday afternoon to report a suspicious vehicle. inside, police found a 10 year old girl and an 8 year old boy. tired, disheveled and hungry. the kids were left in the vehicle since tuesday night after their father says he went to go to a friend's home nearby. a neighbor who didn't want to be shown on camera, says his wife heard something suspicious. >> the children are o-k and are now in protective custody. its not clear why reyes left his children in the vehicle for so long. he did call milpitas police to report his vehicle and children >> the time is 6 07 a.m.. still ahead of the kron4 morning news spirit will tell you about a theft at a charity organization in concord. what the thieves

>> they're still investigating as to whether or not a crime has been committed. he has not been able to rule out if someone knew or hit her body to prevent her from being found. right now, here is try to establish a time line. his come and go back to the day she disappeared and then on september 23rd when nurses held a meeting about the missing pages. october 4th, one nurse spoke to someone and the inspector stated that the man is not a suspect but they do want to talk to him to confirm who we saw. that information would help them with the timeline which ends october 8th. the inspector stated that he is still waiting to interview the sheriff's deputy. they want to find out whether not that
