officer in this case still continues to haunt the hayward police department. they will not give up until she is returned home. kron 4 news. >> pam: >> catherine: a virginia state senator was stabbed and seriously injured today -- by his own son. this is a photo of senator cree deeds from back in 2009 -- alongside his son gus. police say the son shot and killed himself - after stabbing his father. just this week.authorities say the family had tried to get psychiatric help for gus - but after an evaluaton he was sent home again because there weren't enough beds available. police talked about what happened at the family home this morning. >> reporter:virginia state senator creigh deeds is in the hospital with "serious injuries" after an assault tuesday morning at his house

>> reporter:the historical average. but water managers say it's too soon to panic. >> check this out farss south san jose. it's at just 6-percent right now, so low that crews are pumping what water is left over the dam and into alamitos creek below to save the fish only about half of the greater south bay's water needs are met by these reservoirs. the rest comes from underground reserves, enough to last another year or so.and from the sierra snowpack, which holds the key to whether we will see water rationing next summer. >> reporter: >> it is a possibility that we recommend for conservation a short-term conservation level.
