also looking good have the golden gate bridge. off >>anny: ofan antioch man is in jail this morning after leading stiff ad forwe have video of that chase. it started out as a traffic stop around 7 o clock last night near marsh elementary school in antioch. during the stop, the driver hit an officer and fled. the officer was not injured. you can see the suspect driving on the rims. spike strips were laid out several times during this pursuit but the man kept driving. he led police on a high speed chase through antioch, pittsburg, bay point and concord for more than an hour. going up to 100 miles an hour. the vehicle was disabled near the intersection of "g" street and longview road. the 36-year-old suspect tried to escape on foot but was caught a short time later.

a second chase last night. also in antioch. police say around 9-30. they spotted this stolen saturn out of pittsburg. the driver didn't stop though so officers went after the vehicle. the chase ended when the suspect hit a van at somersville road and delta fair boulevard. the driver of the van was taken to the hospital for head pain. the male driver and his female passenger were arrested. another bay area news,bart and its two largest unions will be meeting again today with a federal mediator over a key contract provision. representatives for the transit agency and two unions will meet about a disputed family medical leave act provision, which calls for employees to receive up to six weeks of paid family medical leave spoke with the walnut creek

last month, bart directors approve the contract without the pay family medical leave provision and told union leaders to take the agreement back to their members for another vote without that provision. leaders of a s e a i you local 1021 and 82 refused to management's request and instead filed a lawsuit last week alleging that the transit agency's directors had acted unlawfully in must honor the terms of the tentative agreement.

police from berkeley, oakland and bart are collaborating and increasing patrols after a rash of armed robberies very close to the ash heap our station. --ashby bart station. the locations of the three robberies are seen there. the first to work on prince street and the last one was monday when a pregnant woman was robbed at gunpoint at 930 in the morning. kron4 spoke with police officers who want to get to the suspects before the crimes become more violent. milan-- berkeley police are warning residents to be aware of their surroundings especially this close to the holidays.

the use of credit card scanners is on the rise this holiday season and police in the east bay cities are skimming people out of cash. --skimmers. skimmers are devices that collect private information from a credit card which can then be used to make duplicates. kron4's philippe djegal spoke with the walnut creek police. and got a few tips on how you can prevent becoming a victim. these can have all of your private bank information including your pen number. enough to make duplicates of your card and robbing you blind. >>: pay cash and restaurants

a texas teenager got behind the wheel truck and killed four people. prosecutors pushed for a 20-year sentence for 16-year-old ethan couch. but a judge sentenced the teen to just ten years. probation. the teen's attorney chose an unusual defense to keep him out of prison. andrew spencer reports. the ruling of a judge of a 16 year-old who killed four people is raising controversy. they said the

have more on our freeze morning and just a moment that you will notice some spots a little warmer than 24 hours ago. san francisco has recently dropped into the upper 30's. oakland still above 30's. as we take a look at your day planner. by 7:00 this morning, we are talking about temperatures and the upper twenties to low forties. it is still going to be pretty cold out there. by 7 this morning, you'll already richer morning lows. and that freeze warning affect stretches until 9:00 this morning. as we head into the afternoon, by 3:00 today, upper 50s a low 60s for the entire bay area. everyone is within a tight temperature range. oakland getting pretty close to the 60 degree mark in mid '50s for vallejo to date. a sunny and mild day. temperatures pretty close to where they should be for this time of

promise to go before a federal mediator who helped negotiate previous deals to see if they can work this out instead of going through the court system. bart is open for business as you can see behind me. no guarantee that will continue well into the future because the possibility of a strike is still on the table. bart trains are running and that's not a problem today. in the contract, because for bart workers to get six weeks of paid family medical leave. right now, they can do that but they have to cash and vacation sick or on the paydays. but, because according to bart there was a mistake. it was there early on. they're still on investigating. they did not meet for a to be in the contract which is why they cannot live with it. management approved the contract but to remove that provision of our leaders say that it's just incredible.

that is terrible for them. the unions who filed a lawsuit are hoping to avoid going through the court system and try to hammer out a deal today or tomorrow. no word yet on if there will be negotiations beyond that. back to you print >>anny: will tran live in oakland, thank you. a bank heist and police chase ends with shots fired at a north bay shopping mall. the violent confrontation happened just as many store employees were showing up for work. the suspect is now under recovering from surgery. many are wondering if the man captured yesterday is the cotton ball bandit. a notorious bank robber in marin county. kron 4's justine waldman has more. the cotton ball bandit is given this name because of a hat he wears. he's known for striking wednesday morning.

this morning bank robberies happened and have fought out at the bank of west. here police tell kron4 knows the suspect gave the teller a note and did it get cash then fled and a silver saturn. after a chase on 101, the driver crashed by the northgate mall and the suspect took off running. >>: he had a hand gun and confronted the officers. he was then shot. >>: the issue doubt frightens people at the packed ball. >>: we were really scared. >>: it's unclear the suspect only describe as a white male fired back at the old deputies. this happened right in front of a bank that had recently been robbed. >>: st stay close for hours as multiple law enforcement agencies collected evidence at the scene.

ball bandit is still listed as a wanted man on the fbi's website. authorities would not say now if they finally caught a serial bank robbery. --robber. >>: we have to catch this menace to society. the deputy who shot the suspect is a seven year veteran of the force. san rafael police and the f- b-i plan to release more information about the suspect today. a well-respected youth golf instructor out of livermore is in jail this morning, accused of committing dozens of sex crimes involving young boys. investigators say andy nisbet would throw underage drinking parties for the teens that he used to teach. you're looking at some instructional video led by nisbeth.

the 31-year-old nisbet is charged with 65 felonies. he has not entered a plea. so far, police know of three victims between 12 and 17 years old. the alleged assaults happened over a three year period. they say nisbet would commit the crimes on the boys at several locations. since we aired the story on tuesday, dozens of calls have come in to the livermore police department from parents concerned about their child's safety. nisbet is well respected for his work with young golfers. the p-g-a's northern california division gave him the 2013 junior golf leader award. the elevator company involved in the deadly accident at the new 49ers

stadium has been fined more than 50- thousand dollars. the schindler elevator corporation was cited for three serious violations which investigators say led to the death of 63-year- old mechanic don white. he was struck by an elevator in june. white was the first of two workers to die while working on the new stadium. which is slated to open next year. more than half a million dollars will be awarded to an iraq war veteran hurt by an officer during an occupy oakland protest. the 2011 beating left kayvan sabeghi with a lacerated spleen. the city of oakland agreed to pay 645- thousand dollars to sabeghi tuesday. it is the largest sum awarded so far to anyone injured during a string of occupy oakland protests in 2011 and 2012.

the search to find a missing plane in idaho has been scaled back. that aircraft piloted by san jose business man -dale smith, was carrying five people when it disappeared on december first. kron 4's charles clifford has an update. medical leave which you can do but to have to use vacation on paid or sick days. -on paydays. bart is still investigating. there is six weeks and there they said possibly they forgot to remove it. something happened and they don't want it there and that's why the bart union leaders say you have to moderate. so they have one side. they had a loss of that they filed last week. if they don't reach something today or tomorrow lawsuit proceeds. if they read something, obviously they will pull the loss of away from the court system. obviously this is an ongoing situation. we will get more reaction from bart riders who have been reacting since the first to bart strikes. back to mike. that's-the james dan to
