morning, firefighters are working aggressively to knock down a fire in redwood city. the fire started just after 1:00 a.m. this morning at the sims metro management facility on seaport's boulevard. fire crews said that due to the nature of the fire a could go for another couple of hours. there was another fire at the same facility back in november. they say that this fire is in a scrap metal pile. no injuries are reported. >> >> routine tonsil surgery has brain dead and on life support this morning. jahi mc-math went into the

about 30 mi. south of monterey. this is burning right here between highway 1 on the east and pacific coast. it is about 2 mi. on right in here and a fire is burning what is called piper bridge, a rugged terrain. you can see there is a lot of homes along bridge. this is a video from our helicopter partnership with abc 7 news. so far, 100 people have been evacuated and as of monday evening, 15 homes have been destroyed. thankfully, there has been no injuries but more than 200 firefighters are in the area. >> a red cross shelter has been placed for people who

doctors to give them one more chance. the hospital is forced to keep her alive if there is a brain activity. the hospital stated that if there is no brain activity they have to take off a life-support. the surgery appeared to be okay but a few hours after the surgery on all of a sudden she started to bleed. she had a heart attack and she has been unconscious ever since. her family has been by her bedside and there are wondering what went wrong. they're asking the hospital to check this out. in the meantime, the grandmother, the uncle are speaking giving us their greece. this is what they had to say. >> one person will say that it was aspiration, someone else was said this she bled to death. i have not

that the fatal crash is now out of the hospital and is recovering at home. tina chew worked as a mail carrier at the sausalito post office. many of her co- workers missed her presence. her boss says that other postal workers have donated some of their vacation time to her during her recovery. she even recently stopped by to say hello. >> after the accident, many of customers along her route tied yellow ribbons on the mail boxes to show how much the community loves her. as for her co-workers, they were happy that justice

police have not released many details. but it happened early in the evening on village drive near santa maria avenue fortunately, it was only the store front that suffered damage. no one, including the driver, was hurt in the crash. >> a newly-published editorial about vitamins is getting a lot of attention. the controversial piece -- in this week's annals of internal medicine -- claims that dietary supplements and vitamins are a waste of money. the editorial -- which is based on three studies -- says taking supplements offers no benefit when it comes to preventing cardiovascular disease, cancer, or a second heart attack. it says those studies also show that multi-vitamins don't improve cognitive function in men older than 65.

is an easy ride and we are saying-- >> we're seeing new renderings of a potential site for a new a's ball-park at the port of oakland. supporters, including oakland mayor jean quan plan to ask the port of oakland for control of the site soon. the 500 million dollar park would be nestled around the ports' big shipping cranes. 50 acres of land known as the howard terminal site. this is just west of jack london square. it's one of two potential sites that oakland officials are pushing for - in an effort to keep the a's from leaving town. the the other location is part of a coluseum city proposal that would keep the a's at their current spot. the a's have said they want to move to san jose.here's an image of that potential ball-park. optimistic they can keep the team in oakland.
