new this morning investigators believe some picture one set fire to the consulate general of china in san francisco. the front door of the building and lagoon and gary was found on the fire around 930 last night. firefighters quickly put it out. a statement on the consulate's website says someone got out of a mini van in front of the consulate or to bug to gas on the door and set it on fire causing sat--severe damage. a spokesperson condemned the incident as a

despicable act and urged u.s. officials to protect the consulate and arrest the culprit. developing news this morning, and man shot overnight in san jose is the city's first homicide in 2014 and police are still looking for the gunmen. police on the victim and the 1600 block of east san antonio street in east san jose. he was rushed to hospital where he later died.

february 2nd the 48th annual super bowl will be played in rutherford new jersey. just a few days later the 22nd winter olympics will be played and so she russia. the competition to begin on february 6th and conclude on the 23rd street from june 12th to july 13th the world cup will be held in brazil. 64 matches will be played in 12 cities across the country. in late summer, the san francisco 49ers will play their first game at the new levi stadium in santa clara. the nfl won't announce the exact schedule until april. in november voters will go to oppose for the midterm elections to control the senate and house of representatives. here in

outside of the consulate. it in some of the scorch marks to hear. you get a better sense of what it looks like. you can also see it some of the scorched. according to the consulates are around 930 last night and van pulled up here in front of the consulate's% got out of port two buckets of gasoline on the front door and that's when they started the fire. as you can see it it was basically contained to the entrance of the conflict itself. . it did cause some damage but firefighters were able to put out the fire relatively quickly. past the u.s. government to step in and protect the people inside of the consulate. they had very harsh words for the incident out here. obviously very concerned for the u.s. state department. we are expecting to see more investigators out your back this morning. right now

i can tell you there is a san francisco police officers standing post outside the consulate. one of the things you might want to know if there is security out here. we can see the security camera pointing right at the entrance where this incident took place. there'll be some evidence to be collected out there. as the morning goes on. this is not the first attack on the chinese consulate. we also have won back in 2008. a very similar incidents are some people got out of a van and port gasoline also metal gates. that was back in 2000 eighth street is still a developing story as we get more information. we will pass along to new information as we receive it. >>anny: thanks a much jackie for that report.

homicide investigators are behind me and they're still trying to work on things like getting this person's name. here's we do know. this happened at about one this morning. no one called 911. in fact it was someone who drove by and spotted the man lying on the ground on the sidewalk bordering someone's driveway but because they don't have his name and are no witnesses they don't know if this person was visiting the summer was living and this neighborhood no one called 911. no one heard shots. it was the person who drove by goes by that this man. at this point they don't know if it's gang related. you can see there on the scene.

police are investigating the murder mystery of the roman catholic priest in eureka. reverend eric freak was found dead in a church rectory on new year's day after he failed to show up for a morning mass. the mayor says that freeze has been a very influential part of the community for the past three years. while the community is mourning the loss, police are being very tight-lipped about the case that will only say violent crime had taken place. the cause of death has not yet been released. no suspects or persons avengers have been identified at this time.
