toll plaza is an easy trip. the metering lights are currently off. the san mateo bridge is moving well in both sections. the drive time is about 12 minutes. westbound 24 through the caldecott tunnel is at 12 minutes with no incidents reported. westbound 80 between berkeley. >> our top story this morning. the teenager declared brain dead after complications from surgery is now out of children's hospital of oakland. the hospital released 13 year- old jahi mcmath term mother's care shortly before 8:00

p.m. last night, per court order. we do not know what facility she is that. >> hospital's chief of pediatrics released this statement. he said quote: "the body of jahi mcmath was released by children's hospital and research center in oakland to the coroner." "the coroner has released her body to the custody of her mother as per the court order, for a destination unknown." >> a judge said friday stated that if the mother could find some more for her to go then she could go. >> "our hearts go out to the family as the grieve for this sad situation and we

see temperatures below zero. take a look that some of the readings and now. we are 13 degrees below in green bay. with the strong winds currently in effect this is what it feels like. -45 in minneapolis. -28 and sandals, missouri. there are a lot of anger travel delays as well. snow and rain continues to dominate. this is something we will continue to monitor but here in the bay, we are pretty much on affected. we have clear skies. >> here is a look at our temperatures santa rosa is at the freezing mark, mid 40's for concord and 46 for san francisco. we will continue to shave off a few degrees as we get closer to summarize and the

temperatures will climb and we will see a mix of sun and clouds, 60's for ever won by later on. >> the afternoon high in the south, a another day of 60's for campbell and los gatos. 63 for fremont. mainly mid 60's for the san ramon area, pittsburg with a high of 61. san francisco will have a high of 63 degrees. your 7 day around the bay shows the temperatures will continue to tumble over the next couple of days but i honestly i think we will hold on to dry weather. any brain activity will cross the border but i do not think it will reach the bay area. you can expect a few showers to the north. the only impact will be--will be back in some skies and warmer weather will pushing and towards the weekend. >> the traffic around the bay is quiet and i suspect a

lot of people will be headed back to work. the bay bridge toll plaza--you will see that your good to go would top speeds. there are no problems getting to the san mateo bridge. taken it over to the traffic maps, westbound 80 is moving at top speeds. keep a closer look on westbound 580, generally when the stars to back up we are seeing clear conditions. >> there is no problems are approaching the 580, 680 interchange. >> the winter weather is making for some icy runways at new york's j-f-k international airport. you're looking at a picture of a regional delta flight that skidded off the airport's runway into a snow bank sunday morning. the plane was landing at j- f-k from toronto. the port authority says there were about 32 passengers on board.

no one was hurt. the f-a-a says the plane was eventually towed to the gate. flight operations at the airport were suspended for about two hours after the incident. >> an airport official at kansas city international airport say a flash drive was the suspicious item found in an airplane bathroom that forced the plane to make an emergency landing in kansas city. the plane was flying from san francisco to new york sunday afternoon when the discovery was made. he says the boeing 767 was taken to an area away from the terminal and was searched, and everyone on board was evacuated. >> new pictures of a deadly plane crash in aspen, colorado. federal investigators were on the scene where a small jet with three pilots on board crashed, flipped and burned while trying to land at an airport in heavy winds. a co-pilot died at the scene. the pilot and another co- pilot - flying as a passenger- were injured.

the plane traveled to colorado from arizona. federal records say that the mid-size jet belongs to the bank of utah in salt lake city. the airport remains closed while the n-t-s-b investigates. >> south korea's president has called for resuming reunions of families separated by the korean war in the early 1950s. the call comes amid tensions on the korean peninsula following pyongyang's fiery rhetoric and threats of nuclear wars last spring. the two koreas had planned to hold family reunions in september for the first time in three years but pyongyang cancelled them at the last minute. south korean president park geun-hye told a televised news conference monday that she wants the reunions to occur on the occasion of the lunar new year's day later this month to "heal their wounded hearts." >> line >> an unusual alliance of tea party supporters and liberal members of congress is pursuing major changes in mandatory sentencing laws. they say mandatory minimum sentences are outdated, and

>> welcome back. new this morning in the east bay. a biotech a burglary by men wearing surgical mask. fremont police are just not releasing information about the crime. investigators say that a janitor walked and on two men who broke into the building. she locked herself in an office and called 911. police found that the men had broken into or window. we have not heard exactly what was taken but police are still looking for those two men. >> the effects of the breach

on carts used at target stores is far reaching. aside from causing problems for potentially tens of thousands of consumers. those on government assistance, are also feeling the pinch. some using eppicards to access their benefits are now without any help. the vendor of the eppicards, xerox -- blocked all of the affected cards on january first. that left thousands without access to any funds. xerox notified individuals that they wouldn't have access to funds until they receive a replacement card. one woman affected says that >> you take your card, not have access to the money. it isugh. >> those affected were told it could take seven to ten days to receive a new card.

align >> the spca has set a new record. the macy's holiday window adoptions have placed 339 animals with loving families this year. almost half of the animals that were adopted this year are out of towners, coming all the way from stockton. nearly 1000 volunteers came out to help. >> susan-g-komen race for the cure saw a drop of 22- percent in contributions in the year. this follows the controversy over it's decision to *stop giving grants to planned parenthood for breast cancer screenings. that decision was quickly reversed. donations and corporate sponsership dropped from about 164-million to 128- million. numbers also fell at it's fundraising races for the cure across the country. >> here's a live look from

>> welcome back. our developing story is not open or 13 year-old jahi mcmath is no longer there. the brain and decker was remote from children's hospital late last night to one undisclosed facility. kron4 will tran has been following this story. >> the hospital does not know. the family's attorney has not stated where she is going. there is still a lot of anger and death threats. they feel for the safety of the family members. we do know that obviously, she is not here. the children's hospital of open stated that no matter what happens, they're want to move for. they stated that they're not responsible what happens now. >> she came in december to

have surgery, she made it through the surgery but after the surgery she had a heart attack and three days later the hospital declared her dead. that brought in three doctors who came back with the same results. the hospital stated that the girl is dead, they stated that her family in is stating that she is not dead and they're responding to the words. it was just so much upset over the body. this is what they fought troops-a-tooth and nail to get her remote. i had a chance to speak to the attorney and this is what he had to say. >> there has been so much with this story, there have been threats made upon her and people have been stated --because people who are

do not have a few-that's a lot of information. about 3:18 a.m. that recalled to this block of market street. when they got inside the building they noticed a female victim was stabbed. she was pronounced dead. police investigators along with the medical examiner have not arrived here. no one set a record. this is a developing story. will stay here as we find out what is going on. if there is a suspect in custody. as soon as we get information i will pass along. maligned >> get ready to pay more for bart. this year bart riders will not only be greeted with higher fares. soon riders will see parking fees increase at several stations. there will be a 50-cent daily parking fee increase starting later this month at many stations including the walnut creek

and daly city bart stations. however keep in mind -- not all stations are hiking up the parking fee. >> one of bart's largest unions approves a four-year labor deal the new agreement leaves out the disputed family medical leave provision. but workers will get extended paid bereavement leave and potential bonuses. bart's other union s-e-i-u will vote on the contract deal on january 13-th. an s-e-i-u negotiator says he's hopeful the union will approve the agreement. if approved it would end a nine month labor dispute that included multiple strikes. >> in the north bay. san rafael police are searching for whoever stole a dog from the northgate mall. the owner and her daughter spent hours on end -- posting fliers around the mall -- in hopes that their dog will turn up. police say around four o'clock sunday afternoon. the owner was getting a manicure with her daughter. their dog. a 9-year old samoyed named tenby. was tied up outside. police say a teenage boy. described as hispanic and wearing a gray hoodie went up to the dog. untied the leash. and walked away.

is welcoming it's newest officer. ajax the german shepherd is the first. of what the police department hopes will be a new k-9 program. they are reaching out to the community to help this program grow. the department has set up a go-fund-me donation page where anyone can give to help the program. with certain donations you will receive a pin or t- shirt as a big thank you from ajax, his partner - officer sean keller - and the s-m-p-d. as you can see from this video ajax is already fitting right in. >> will be right back.

>> welcome back. a mandatory bold inspection program continues to pay dividends at lake tahoe. california resource conservation district says that 36 molts harboring and as a species were prevented from entering the lake in 2013. over 4000 boats were the contaminated. conservation district officials said the fact that there were no new introductions of invasive species to tahoe and 2013

yuan zai met the media at a taiwan zoo saturday. the female cub was photographed two days before she is scheduled to be seen by the public. the cub appeared to take all the attention form strangers in stride. she was very active and kept crawling and climbing for about 20 minutes before falling asleep. r >> we now know the origin of this once-mysterious crop circle that appeared last month in california! it was not aliens -- but marketers from a microchip company. the company came forward last night at the consumer electronics show in las vegas and admitted to the scheme. the company says it hired a marketing team and experienced crop-circle makers to produce the odd image. they then placed anonymous calls to local t-v stations, hoping to generate publicity. it worked -- the story went viral by new year's eve, and drew crowds of curious onlookers before it was mowed down. the company says it hid clues to in the crop pattern to its origin, using braille symbols. >> coming up at the kron4
