clouds out there but we are not dealing with the dense fog we saw yesterday. if the cloud cover really helping temperatures out so we are starting things off at the warmer side. looks like upper '40's for concord and livermore. freely don't think will drop below freezing to death. temperatures will mainly be in the 40's this morning. fog track 4 shows the cloud cover will remain into the afternoon. by lunchtime a lot of calls start to pull that will cycladic conditions along the bar peninsula and east bay shoreline. sports will perhaps see more sunshine today compared to what we saw yesterday. high's however pretty much the same. oakland 61 60s today in concord. daly city stain and the '50s and 61 today and sunnyvale. satellite and radar shows some rain as well to the north. we did see some scattered showers overnight i don't think will

interstate 280 highway 101 and no delays across county freeways here in san francisco. if >>james: on to our top story this morning. there are tens of thousands of cases of the flu across the nation. every state has reported at least *one case of the flu this year. at least six children nationwide have died from the virus this season. and here in the bay area, things are getting worse. as the number of deaths now reaches 6. the latest announcement comes from marin county, where two people have died. one -- a 63-year-old man. the other -- a 48-year-old woman. four other counties have recorded one death each. kron-4 confirmed cases in alameda and san mateo counties. contra costa county announced. a 48-year-old woman died there. and the first flu death in the bay area, was in santa clara county. a 41-year-old woman. we start our team coverage with kron-4's jeff bush. marin county health officials say the two deaths are from the h1n1 strain, or swine flu. the first death was reported on december 27th. the victim, a 64 year

old man died from flu related complications. the second death was on january 6th and involved a 48 year old woman who was perfectlly healthy prior to coming down with the flu. health officials say some adults suffer a severe case when they get sick. unfortunatly, with h1n1, for reasons that are not clear to us, in some young people it can cause a cycle of inflamation and irritation in the airways that can lead to respratory distress and that is what occurred in this case and in other case0s in california this year. county health officials say this year's strain is serious business and, like these two victims, can cause death. it establishes in the lower airways and interferes with the ability to exchange oxygen so people have trouble breathing. many are intebated, so they are put on breathing machines in the

oakland police released a new surveillance photo of the suspect vehicle used in the nakano shooting. investigators say, they hope someone will recognize the vehicle and call police. meanwhile,new charges for the man accused of kidnapping a 7-year-old girl last week in antioch. 42-year-old david douglas. is facing several felony charges, including kidnapping and committing a forcible lewd act upon a child. the suspect is expected to be in court next week. his bail is set at seven - point- one million dollars. new details involving jahi mcmath. the family lawyer says, the 13 year old now has breathing and feeding

california maritime academy, says the university and owners of the motel have signed a purchase agreement for cal maritime to acquire the property, which is located next door to the campus. the motel has a reputation for being a hub for criminal activity, includcing drug trafficking, prostitution and it was also the scene of a deadly shooting last month. this comes a month after the city of vallejo sent a letter out to all area hotels, asking them to clean up their properties in an effort to reduce crime. as of now, lohide says its unclear what will be done with the lot. but says the california state university board of

los gatos police say, a woman was leaving a dance studio at the blossom hill center monday evening. when she says, a man came out of nowhere. and punched her in the face. she was not seriously hurt, but police say, the attack resembles similar random assaults captured by surveillance cameras across the country. two amgen employees are recovering this morning after an explosion in south san francisco. crews were called to the bio-technology company on veterans boulevard yesterday afternoon. some cleaning supplies used to sterlize equipment caused a chemical reaction that sparked a flash fire. the building was evacuated and a section of oyster point was closed while fire crews looked after the victims. the area is back open this morning.
