12 to 13 minutes between 880 and highway 1013 if we don't have any problems getting to your bridge coming down the nimitz freeway. and james in now to begin with breaking news this morning. a man is in critical condition right now after being burned outside counterparts station. it happened last night at the bart station on oakland avenue. emergency crews found a man with serious burns. he was rushed to the hospital on a helicopter. we have a crew in concord this morning covering this story. we'll bring you a live report later in the newscast san jose police have made an arrest in connection to a series of arson fire. officers arrested the man last night. this is surveillance video of someone walking away from one of the fire.

13 fire have been set since last wednesday between santa clara street and william street. they also happened between 17th street and 33rd streets. no injuries were reported in any of the fires. police say the surveillance video that a resident turned new video showing the dramatic moments just before a emergency vehicle. ran over a victim of the asiana plane crash at s-f-o. the teen from china survived the crash -- only to be hit twice by a fire truck, and killed. the video has come out. now that the girl's family filed a lawsuit against the city of san francsico. kron 4's dan kerman shows us the video. and details what we know now about how the incident happened. the fire department has said of the girl was runover because she was covered and

today, county health officials confirmed 3- more flu -related deaths. that brings the total bay area death toll to 20. today the first death was reported in napa county. in sonoma county. flu - related deaths climb to three. and contra costa county is now reporting two flu- related deaths. those two victims were a male and female in their mid- forties. the flu season is not expected to peak until late january or into february.. hoss that means the death toll is expected to rise.

weather. out in pacifica. i still can't get over the fact that it's happening and pacifica it's usually cool and foggy. it's sunny and balmy. pretty crazy. erica how much longer. i'm not complaining don't get me wrong. >>: gorgeous weather. for the entire bay area. we will see pretty much the exact conditions today. the wind will die down so we will be better in terms of fire danger. and temperatures will gradually start to climb as we head into next week. another beautiful day around the bay area. red flag warning expires at 8 this morning. increasing clout expected a slightly cooler conditions. again we

eight. how dry weather conditions are prompting marin county to tap into the reserves. in order to supply drinking water. an argument, then a shooting over text messaging at a movie theater. why this a florida couple says they could have just as easily been the victims. marin municipal water district will be pumping from it's reserve water supply starting today in response to tis year's dry conditions. over the next 30 days, the distrist will pump water from phoenix lake to the bon tempe treatment plant on mount tam. due to record-low rainfall since january of last year, the water district's reservoir storage is well below average at 55 percent of capacity. average storage for this date is 77 percent of capacity. but the warm weather, and lack of rain.creating dangerous fire conditions. the national weather service has issued a red- flag fire warning for the north bay and east bay hills effective until 10 o'clock this morning

officials say the fire danger there is very high. and fire crews are on high alert. for the time being.fire officials are asking residents in the oakland hills to postpone any yard work. which could create sparks.and start a grass fire. solano fire officials say, the fire on kimball island in the delta is still burning. they are allowing hotspots to burn out on their own. the fire started late tuesday afternoon -- reportedly by transients. at the end of the night. three homes and several other buildings were destroyed. more than 40- acres charred. this is video from our helicopter partnership with a-b-c 7 news. kimball island is just north of antioch. and is only accessible by boat. the u-s coast guard helped move at least four people from the island. others left on their own. no injuries were reported. three people are dead when a gunman opened fire at a grocery store in indiana. police say the man walked into the grocery store last night. shooting a woman in an aisle. the gunman then walked over to another woman, shooting and killing her. we know that one of the women was an employee at the store. the other a shopper. we don't know whether the gunman knew the women. he was shot and killed by police when he pointed his gun at another shopper. police also found a large knife next to his body. a florida couple believes

they could have just as easily been the victims of a shooting inside a movie theater. they're sure they saw the suspect weeks before, getting angry at them for texting during the movie. andrew spencer reports. take a look at this beautiful view from pacifica. hundreds of people out enjoying the surf and sand. and this is happening in paficifa. where it's cool and foggy 340 days a year. the new eastern span of the bay bridge has been open for just over four- months. and already significant work has been completed on removing the old eastern span. kron 4's charles clifford was given a tour of the old israel's prime minister is in jordan today to talk to the king about the latest in peace negotiations between israel and palestine. prime minister benjamin netanyahu is holding the talks behind closed doors. the negotiations arey the u-s. netanyahu made at least three similar visits to jordan last year. jordan maintains friendly relations with israel under a peace agreement. many injured in a suicide bombing in lebanon today. the blast happened in the northeastern city of hermel

located near the syrian border. the area is known as a stronghold for the shiite militant group, hezbollah. today's bombing was the latest in a wave of attacks in lebanon in recent months, as the violence of syria's civil war continues to spill over the border. the u-n human rights office says that a "soaring" number of executions in northern syria could amount to war crimes. u-n's high commissioner for human rights warned armed opposition groups that such executions violate international humanitarian law. over the past two weeks, there has been reports of an increase in the executions of those no longer siding the exact number of executions are unknown, but their has been a definite increase since the beginning of the year. an elderly man was killed in a house fire in newark. the first happened last night at darvon street. when firefighters arrived they had to make a force entry into the home. they were able to put out the fire in 10 minutes. the elderly man was found in the home and transported to a hospital where he later died of his injuries. firefighters say the fire started in the kitchen appeas to be accidential. there's a renewed effort underway to combat crime in san francisco.

the city has just launched a "zero waste" intitiative. designed to eliminate 39- million pounds of textile. non- profit groups, along with goodwill, are partnering with retailers. to collect unwanted or worn out clothes. those items can be turned into other things such as carpet padding and insulation. drop off locations are conveniently located at several retail locations. for a full list. visit the website at the bottom of your screen. 8:30 a.m. the health trust will launch an $80 million five-year plan to tackle santa clara county health issues such as homelessness, mental illness, aging and healthy eating. includes a keynote speech by dr. julie gerberding, president of merck vaccines and former director of the centers for disease control and prevention. the event will also feature a 2014 san jose mayoral candidate forum.

the game plan for security at this year's super bowl will include nearly 4,000 local police and private security officers and airport-style screening for those entering metlife stadium. and that's just what you'll be able to see. there will be a whole host of other security measures that will be invisible to the average fan. the plan has been in the works for more than two years and relies in part on lessons learned at past super bowls this year, officials are working closely with utility companies to ensure there's ample backup power. sanitation agencies also are in the mix, with the plan calling for 900 snow plows to be on standby if needed to keep the roads open on game day i don't think with all due respect to the teams that are competing to get here on february 2nd that they will have prepared more than the team you see right in front of you right now. nobody at this table needs to be reminded in the shadow of the world trade center how important this event is to make people safe in our region. behind the scenes, fbi analysts manning a command center with surveillance camera feeds and computer data will work around the clock on the week of the game to monitor potential terror threats. and fans will have to present their tickets to the game before they can board

police say, nisbet coached children throughout the state and nation. he is being held without bail. and will be back in court next month. the antioch man accused of kidnapping a 7- year old girl and assaulting her. has pleaded not guilty in court. david douglas is charged with 6 -felonies. including forcible lewd acts upon a child. authorities say, earlier this month, douglas followed a family home from walmart. and then allegedly took the girl from her front yard. the two were found hours later. at the antioch marina after an amber alert was issued. investigators are also looking into whether douglas tried to kidnap another child in antioch. if you still need a flu shot, you are in luck. washington hospital in fremont will be holding two flu vaccination clinics this week. the shots are offered to both adults and children 4 years and older. here is some information about the clinics -today and tomorrow noon to 2 p.m. and 3:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.

for 45 is the time. a couple is behind bars. string of burglaries in san carlos. 24-year- olds ashley kirk and juan ortega- ramos. are charged with multiple counts of burglary. police say, kirk -- an employee of petsmart-- used her knowledge of owners' empty homes. to go on the crime spree with her husband the couple is accused of stealing electornics, jewelry and in one instance, a silver porsche from a portola valley home. kirk and ortega- ramos both pleaded not guilty to the charges tuesday. they are each being held on 500- thousand dollar bail. a 10-week-old puppy is being cared for after being found at a san francisco dump site friday. the puppy was on a conveyor belt full of trash. she was hurt - with bite marks on her head and neck. she's also lame in her hind legs.

found. they found a teenage male on fire who accidently set himself on fire. " we are being told now is he had been working on a car and a different location and spilled some gas. did not really pay much attention until he got into a car and drove over to a bart station. inside that car he attempted to light a cigarette and set himself and his clothes on fire. there were able to kit the fire out relatively quickly but he did suffer severe burns on his chest face and hear. he was transferred to the hospital. he is in serious condition down there right now. initially, the report came out that perhaps it was a car fire but it turns out to be a simple tragic accident. the team is down and santa clara at the valley medical center in serious condition but is expected to live. darya?

>>darya: okay. we will check with more details. san jose police have made an arrest in connection to a series of arson fire. officers arrested the man last night. this is surveillance video of someone walking away from 13 fire have been set since last wednesday between santa clara street and william street. kron4's will tran has more. >>: the police department will release the suspects named andy tells as to how they moved and made the arrest in a news conference this morning. we know it happened around 8:00 last night. they've been on this case for the past week. everyone's been terrorized and this neighborhood. here surveillance video that the san jose police department have to work with. of all the fires that have happened over the past week some of those homeowners did have cameras mounted on their houses and they were able to give that camera footage to the police department. they looked at this. not only did they look at this surveillance video but they

also work on getting some composite sketches out to the public. there were able to make the arrest. fortunately during the string of arson fires that were talking at least 12 fires and the span of one week and a 2 mi. radius of that neighborhood, eight of them confirmed to be arson during those fires, no one got hurt. obviously a lot of damage and hundreds of thousand dollars and maybe even more than that but they were obviously working with time on their side because they were fearful it was just a matter of time before someone was hurt. that's why they had undercover officers patrolling the neighborhood of the past week and for whatever reason they have enough information to move and make the arrest. we will carry that news conference for you on our comcast channel at 10:00 when it happens. if the public information officer arrives earlier than that we will have a live interview with him as well.
