s. this morning on the morning news the battle in seattle ends with a tough loss as the niners come up short in the game with the seahawks will have the high life and more coming up. and flu deaths on the rise. we're following the weather. we'll have a look at the forecast coming up. good morning. it is january 20th.

it is martin luther king holiday happy holiday, everyone. let's find out what the forecast is looking like if you have any plans outside. a lot of people have today off. we are looking forward to another warm day around the bay area. we could tie some records. it will not be like last week. we're waking up to clear skies as we look from the roof camera. a cold start for sox of us. we're below freezing and 39 degrees now in oakland and 40s along the midpeninsula. into the afternoon it will be like i mentioned another warm day. mid-to-upper 60s and 70s will trickle in. and oakland 70. 67. livermore with a high of 69. clear skies. and overall. we are looking at very mild weather. the forecast shows that

temperatures will start to take a tumble as we push into the middle of the week. we'll hold on to try whether and sunshine even heading into next weekend. >> that's a look at the forecast. traffic around the area doing all right. some easy conditions. no shocks or surprises your typical lane closures. and you will notice traffic is light. we're not noticing any wait here and the bridge, the drive time is holding steady at minutes. southbound 101 is seeing top speeds with 23 minutes into the city. not tracking any plays for the freeway and 24 moves well

in memphis, tennessee where he was assassinated, an audio recording of an interview will be played at the civil rights museum t sheds new light on a phone call that the president made to king's wife more than 50 years ago. here is a look at what is closed today in honor of the holiday. all federal offices will be shut down. the stock markets are closed. most banks. check with your bank. bart will be run ogg on a saturday schedule. and more reported bay area flu deaths to update you on. the total is 22. we had two more people die in santa clara bringing the total there to six. and contra costa. there is one in napa and three people have died in sonoma and san mateo three deaths there and three people have died.

the east shore freeway. would not be surprised if they are off for the morning. and the bridge moves along both directions at 92. the tail lights to foster city. back to the traffic maps. the north bay. sub 101 and we are looking at a smooth and easy ride westbound even for those coming out of tracy out of the pass. none to report and the south bay on the sensors. >> thank you. 4:17 we'll go south talking about the wildfire that firefighters have been battling. and so we have the update from county fire. the fire is about 78% contained. the hope is that they will have it fully contained by midweek. all residents have returned now to assess the damage.

officials say that the bone try conditions are a threat. the fire started thursday and burned about three square miles. in the process it gutted 5 homes. officials say the fire was caused -- caused by three men who set a fire. a update now to a story we told you about over the weekend a wildfire in the north bay is fully contained. and friday at 9 p.m. crews responded to a brush fire in the hills. that fire spread to the trees and burned out an acre of land since it was a rural area. no one was injured and there was never a threat to the buildings nearby. now for a video that's causing controversy. we have cell phone video and you can see an undocumented worker being held down by go agents when one starts to hit him in the head and then kneeing him in the stomach. and the video does not show what it does not show is that the undocumented worker struck the agent several times before

he was pinned down. some say it does not seem like he is resisting they responded that in the video you are able to see the worker's hands where they say he was trying to resist with his hands. new guidelines are rá in place for the nsa. the changes the president put into police include ending the authority to store and collect phone data on americans. this after a contractor leaked details of the agency's programs. and shannon travis looks at the new policy. the president made a case between privacy and the public. >> for it to be affected we must maintain the trust of the american people and around the world. >> he announced new guidelines for the national security agency which is how it is collected and where it will be

after friday's shooting and turned himself in. he has been charged as an adult with assault and other charges. now he is being held on $500,000 bail. he shot two others in the arm. police have not confirmed that the gun went off by accident or on purpose. another 17 year old held by the police in the case was rereesed -- released on saturday. now to world news morning. iran has halted its most sensitive program as part of a devil that it struck with other world leaders. the un halted the 20% enrichment of you a rain yum which is just shy of bomb making grilled uranium. and the inspectors were present when iran implemented the obligations under the deal which was reached last year. two people are dead after the rains flooded the french rivera. thousands are without access to roads and power. authorities are begging people to stay inside if they can.

and more students than ever are applying for admission to the uc and csu systems. and more than 183,000 applied for one of the 9 under graduate campus force this coming call. that's a 5% increase. and they say that the increase was driven by a jump in applications from out of state and international students, the largest number coming from latino students. and, you are encouraged to have a say in proposed toll hikes on the golden gate

and a outbreak has sickened 400 people and it appears to be over after the cdc phrased it to three foster farms plants here in california. 1/3 of the people sickened had to be hospitalized.

and the cdc said it has taken measures to bring the outbreak under control. foster farms did not recall any chicken but a costco store recalled the chicken and some other products. and police are asking for your help now in finding a man accused of exposing himself in his car. it was around 5:40 in downtown pal le alto. he drove away after a woman knocked on the window and told him to leave. the suspect is a 30 to 35, middle eastern or hispanic, unshaven and wearing a described shirt and jeans at the time of the incident. three people shot in three places and knew police are looking for three different shooters. investigators say the shooting happened before 2:00 on friday afternoon on mlk way. and another man was shot before

6:00. and then the third victim was shot around 9:00 last night on 55th street and martin luther kingjunior way. they are all expected to survive. there are no details on who they are looking for. some passengers on the asiana flight have filed a lawsuit against boeing t claims negligence by the company which distributed to the crash. plaintiffs say it should have noun that a jet had inadequate throttle control and low air speed warning systems. and it says that boeing should have known that the airline's pilots were not properly trained. 100 plaintiffs many south korean are listed on that lawsuit. the day before martin luther king junior day a community had disturbing news. they received flyers from the kkk. neighbors say those responsible dropped off the the flyers in the middle of the night.

being diverted to silicon valley and down in los angeles. well, the drought conditions have meant bad news for industries the levels have allowed investigators to resume a search for the remains of a plane. that plane crashed in a lake in folsom 50 years ago. searchers can not say they found it. they did not leave empty handed. they took many images of the lake which they will use for further analysis. and divers set out to help after walking with the passengers that are missing. you can see when we were talking with them this morning that we want to be able to bring it to an end. >> water levels are down they could barely see anything. the crews said the fuselage was damaged and sitting under water for 50 years. they are not sure what shapes they should be looking for.
