one person is dead and another injured. after being hit by a cal-train near the santa clara station. two men were on the tracks between the northbound platform and the southbound platform last night when the train approached. there were no scheduled stops where the men were. so the train could have been traveling around 70 miles per hour. investigators are trying to figure out why the men were on the tracks in the first place. they hope to talk to the

developing news this morning. classes will resume this morning at widener university in philadelphia as the search for the gunman continues. the shooting happened last night, when a student was shot in the parking lot of the university's athletic center. the student survived but remains in critical but stable condition. police say the shooting was not random. the campus was on lockdown until 6 this morning eastern time. police are asking student vigilant around campus but their will be a strong police presence. authorities in chester, pennsylvania are searching for a gunman after a shooting at a local college. police say a student was

shot at widener university just before nine monday night. it happened near the athletic center. the injured student was taken to the hospital, but there's no immediate word on his condition. university officials urged students to stay inside until further notice. in oklahoma this morning, investigators are trying to find out what caused this massive house fire. flames engulfed the four- thousand-square foot home last night leaving very little behind. dozens of firefighters were called in to contain the blaze. no one was home at the time.

the family plans to stay with relatives. in the midst of controversy. new jersey governor chris christie will be inaugurated to his second term in office today. hoboken mayor dawn zimmer, has said repeatedly lieutenant governor kim guadadno told her hurricane sandy relief funds would be witheld. that was unless zimmer backed a redevelopment project favored by christie. guadagno has publicly denied this claim. the lieutenant governor's recollection was that zimmer pressed for sandy relief funds for use in redevelopment and investment. hoboken's mayor has suggested it was more along the lines of quid pro quo -- and continues to be that way with the governor's director of recovery and rebuilding. zimmer says a journal entry and some letters she wrote, last year, support her case.

an update now on a breaking news story we've been following out of san jose right now. lee 7 strip mall in san jose surrounded. they are looking for burglary suspects so far, they have one suspect in custody. this is happening at e-shore mall on hillsdale avenue at camden ave. an alarm went off inside and marijuana dispensary earlier this morning. police believe the suspect broke into several businesses. dogs have also been brought in to help with the search. we will have a crew headed to the scene and will bring you updates as they become available.

ended with a driver being shot. there are reports earlier this morning an officer noticed a car without a plate. when the officer tried to pull the car over that's when the pursuit got under way. the driver got caught at a dead end street. shots were fired. we're waiting for the public information officer with the local police department to arrive on scene to give us more information. as i mentioned this is definitely a developing situation. it considers this a large area that they're rolled off. as far as getting some more information as far as how many people were in the car. whether this person was fatally struck are waiting to get more information about that three reporting live here and oakland terisa estacio back to you guys
