we have the forecast see if we can get that, that is gorgeous. and and we are waking up again to midand high level clouds, temperatures this morning and 44 degrees and 50 in san jose. and concord and livermore and chillier in santa rosa at 37 degrees. we'll look at mps. we'll talk about that in a bit. we're following a developing story of san jose unit. the police are investigating there assault incidents. mining us is mike pelton. what can you tell us? >> this a big concern for the police as you have two sexual assaults and another in in the past that 12 hours. they took place here on the

southern portion of campus, the first of which was here in front of the event center. it was around 6:55 last night at 9:21. police say the suspect rode a bike behind them and touched them before riding of. he is described as a 20 to 30 year old whiteman with a black sweat shirt and mustache. another around 1:00 outside of one of the halls. two suspects one on a skateboard anotlong board attempted to touch a victim. police say that victim was able to defend herself and prevent a possible attack. they are described as heavy set white men. one with long blonde hair the other with short dark hair. the incidents are not connected to the one this morning. still police say that this is a reminder to watch your surroundings and stay alert. the university put out a campus

performance when the accident happened. friends are hoping to raise 10,000-dollars to cover the cost of the funeral and memorial service. and new this morning, police are looking for a man who shot another man in a pub. officers say that the last night at red coats pub a man fired shots into the air. one hit a patron. that person suffered a non-life threatening wound. he was described as light skinned latino man about 140 pounds and seen wearing a black short sleeved shirt and jeans. well, the first grade teamer accused of lacing food with marijuana at a pot luck will be in court tomorrow. teresa badger is facing three counts of poisoning after bringing laced food to a colleague's party. police say after eating a number -- after eating a number of people felt they were under the influence of drugs. two of those ended up at the

hospital. badger is out on bail. and a teacher has replaced damager at the school where she teaches. a pedestrian is recovering this morning after a car hit him on redwood boulevard. he was crossing the street when it hit him last night. he suffered injuries but they are not considered life threatening. the driver is cooperating with the investigation and neither drugs nor alcohol seem to be factors in this. and it was a terrible discovery in san francisco and police responded to reports of a body in a car. and that 17th street and treat avenue. no known suspects at this time but police are continuing their investigation. straight ahead for you on the news. details in the maryland mall shooting. what police are saying about a motive that the gunman had before killing two people and himself. and get ready to pay more for stamps starting tomorrow we'll tell you how much more it will cost to send a letter. if you shop at michaels

michaels is the latest retailer to be hit with a security breach. the chain said that it learned of possible fraudulent activity on some customers ' cards but they don't know how many people could be affected or if the breach was online or in stores. it is weeks after target and neiman marcus acknowledged breaches. and tackers may have obtained data of one million debit and credit card users, says neiman marcus. the cost of a stamp is going up. it will cost you 49 cents. it is the largest increase in price force consumers in more than ten years. the postal service gave the okay to raise the prices to keep up with inflation and

shooting that we brought to you. maryland police identifying the shooter as a 19 year old darian og -- aguilar. he was carrying a ammo along with crude home-made bombs. investigators are piecing together what happened and why. >> reporter: terrified parents rushed to their children after a lone gunman walked into the mall and strapped with large amounts of ammo and pulled out a gun and opened fire. he killed a 21 year old and 25 year old who both worked at the zumiez store. >> we heard the shots, we grabbed our customers and the children and took them out back and locked the door. >> i thought i heard something fall like bricks. all of a sudden i saw people fall, three people that were

suspect. the cycle of cold and snow is depleting the road salt. there is 65 miles of roadway in the town of wakesha, wisconsin. they will go through 1900 tons of salt. but this season it has not been typical with a lot of snow. salt will be mixed with sand to spread on the roads. they will spread it in certain areas like hills and curves and intersections because of the shortage. some brave people were not phased by the temperatures, bundled up runners took to a 13- mile run along lake michigan. the wind and high was around freezing but despite the cold, organizers say there were no open spots available at the starting line. we are dealing with sunshine and warm temperatures here as we wait for rain.

turn at the light. i spent the day with the medic unit as they respondented to calls city wide. i watched drivers slowing down the response times. and on this street the ambulance had nowhere to go because the drivers were not pulling to the right. and it is bad. watch this driver as he make as turn. not only where there is a fire truck but front of a city ambulance. law reads within 1000 feet of any vehicle, drivers must pull to the right-hand side. it does not read stop in the lane of traffic. it does not say speed up and race the vehicle it reads pull to the right. this does not apply on a divided highway. >> and drivers are not pulling to the right, it creates bigger problems like here when

developing story at san jose where police are investigating there assault incidents. we have mike pelton. what can you tell us? >> reporter: this is a big concern for the police because classes are resuming here at san jose this week and just overnight they are investigating three incidents. it all occurred here on the campus. >> that is mike pelton reporting live, we're having some difficultys there. we'll get that shot back for you as soon as we can. >> and right now, police in san jose are investigating the city's fourth homicide of the year. it happened this morning before 1:30 a man was stabbed on sun crest avenue near burgundy drive in the piedmont hills neighborhood. he was taken to the hospital where he died a short time later. >> and police searching for

>> reporter: this is a big concern for san jose university police since classes just resumed here earlier this week. just overnight they are investigating two incidents of sexual battery and a third incident of sexually battery all taking place in the southern portion of the campus near the event center. it started at 6:55 last night. a suspect road a bicycle up behind the victims and touched them inappropriately before riding off. the suspect is described as a 20 to 30-year-old black hooded man with a mustache. it happened near the nearby mcmccrory hall. the victim was able to defend herself and prevent the possible attack in that case. they are heavy set white men, one with long blocked hair and the other with short dark hair.

police say the two incidents last night are not connected to the one this morning. still, it is a reminder to watch your surroundings and stay alert. the police sent out a campus- wide alert in the wake of the incident. detectives are reviewing the case and looking at security cameras here on campus to see if any of the incidents were caught on surveillance video. in san jose, mike peloton, kron 4 news. a homeowner in hillsboro interrupted a burglary. the homeowner returned home friday morning to find a burglar in his house. he then jumped through a window and took off in his pickup truck. he broke in through a glass door in the back of the house, reportly, and took things from the home bedroom and office. santa cruz police arrested a suspect from burglarizing a restaurant on east cliff drive near 13th avenue about 7:30 on thursday avenue.

a new plan to help police fight crime. kron force says setting up a network of security cameras is raising privacy concerns. >> reporter: catching a criminal on camera usually makes life easy for a prosecutor, but the footage can't always be obtained. >> i can tell you many times as a criminal probation reporter, three or four weeks after the -- prosecutor, three or four weeks after the crime we find out the surveillance videos have already been recorded over. >> reporter: so there is now a quest to get surveillance tapes more quickly, partnering with the police department. >> it identifies for each officers where the cameras are, so they know if there is a robbery nearby or a burglary, the suspect may have run in front of the b they know who to contact. >> reporter: there are concerned everything we do can be filmed or viewed by police

behaving badly. >> pay attention to this taxi. the driver is sitting there instead of getting out of the way, delaying emergency help to someone in need. look at these poor drivers. state law reads they should pull to the right. as you can see, they don't. in fact, the driver of the red car appears to be trying to outrun the emergency vehicle with lights and sirens activated, just so the driver can make a left hand turn at the light. i spent the entire shift with the san francisco fire department 96 unit as they responded to emergency calls city-wide. i watched drivers following the law and slowing down for emergency vehicles. look at this, on this street the ambulance had nowhere to go because drivers were not pulling to the right. it is really bad. watch this driver as he makes a left hand turn, not only is there a fire truck there, but

also a city ambulance. state law read that is within 1,000 vehicle of any emergency vehicle with sirens activated, drivers must pull to the right hand curb. it doesn't read stop in the lane of traffic. it doesn't say speed up and race the vehicle. it reads go to the right. important to note this does not apply on a divided highway. since drivers are not pulling to the right, it creates biggers problems like here, where the emt has deactivated the sirens because medic 96 is stuck. so, it has to wait. there are some police officers in the city that will follow emergency vehicles and site violator, but the fact is there are too many violators out there. let's hope they don't need the services of the san francisco fire department, because if they do, pray the emergency vehicle is not delayed, not even for a second. san francisco, stanley roberts, kron 4 news.
