he is described as a black male. 5- foot 7, 165 -pounds. wearing a green jacket and blue jeans. he is said to have salt and pepper colored hair. and the vehicle they left in was a red or burgundy four door sedan. .with the license plate number - 6-j-f-m-6-4-8. police say the kidnapper is driving a red or burgundy sedan. it has california license plates reading 6-j-f-m-6-4-

8. police say the alleged kidnapper stole the car. just before the carjacking, the man was reportedly inside the safeway and was trying to steal something, police say they are continuing their investigation and search for the sedan even though there have been no reports of a missing 13 year old or an elderly man fitting the

description of the victims. police initially linked the license plate to a red or burgundy 2001 infiniti suv. but the fbi and east coast law enforcement found the registered owner of that vehicle and determined that car did not have its plates. continuing our team coverage of the safeway kidnapping. the incident was reported at 12:50 tuesday afternoon.

he was not only indicted in the lamar kidnapping. but also in a string of attacks on women in the south bay in 2009. he will be arraigned on thursday. you may recall. sierra lamar went missing in morgan hill back in 2012. the 15-year-old girl was last seen walking towards a school. her body has not been found. the effects could be catastrophic, according to hot the national weather service, as ice storms and winter storms hit parts of the south from texas to north carolina.

we'll tell you how officials are bracing for the major winter storm. a san jose police officer has pleaded "no contest" to traffic tickets. prosecutors say george chavez wrote fake tickets against two people. those people were involved in a lawsuit with chavez. over an off-duty car accident. chavez is a 23-year veteran officer. inmate in state prison. that's the maximum sentence he faces. chavez could also simply be put on probation. his sentencing is set for april third. san francisco police are using dogs to search for three people who got away after a chase and crash on 101. here's a photo of the crash near 380 in south san jenny

vella. the three people were riding in an s-u-v. you can see it in the background. they ran off after crashing into another car. the crash and search stopped traffic on 101. police had chased the s-u-v last night. officers claim they saw a was involved in a double shooting. police say they did arrest the driver. and found a bunch of guns in the s-u-v. a federal judge is considering whether to block a san francisco law banning high-capacity ammunition lawyers for a group of gun owners fought the law at a hearing yesterday. they said large magazines are sometimes needed for self-defense. the judge said the lawyers had no evidence that they are used for that a lot of large criminals. the judge's decision will be released at a later date.

winter storm problems in the southeast are only expected to get worse. emergency crews in alabama are closely watching the roads and weather conditions as a second winter storm in two weeks moves across the state. asresidents are dealing with freezing rain. with up to five inches of snow expected to fall. in central alabama, an emergency operations center has been activated.

kayleigh's mom sara krueger and warner are charged with murder and assault for kayleigh's death. they face 25 years to life for each count if convicted. they are set to be arraigned on february 25th. vallejo police say, robbers made off with thousands of dollars from a convenience store. by loading money onto gift cards. the two men robbed a 7- eleven last friday. it is the second time the store has been hit, in less than two weeks.
