it was registered to an east bay female driver. >> we have information leading us to believe and 1 in alameda county the car is registered to at we are following up with information to that person. ".no sign of foul play" >> pam: investigators say they have not ruled out suicide as a possibility positive identification of the body is pending the results of an autopsy by the alameda county coroner. >> pam: an east bay school was shut down today. keeping nearly two- thousand students out of class. >> pam: school officials attempted to notify everyone but some didn't get the word in time. >> pam: as kron four's terisa estacio reports, school officials are hoping they can reopen the school tomorrow.

>> reporter:a gas leak in san francisco's south park neighborhood. caused street closures and evacuations this morning. >> reporter:according to the san francisco fire department. the leak occurred near third street and jack london alley. after a construction crew working in the area , dropped a pipe on a gas main. causing it to rupture. >> this is for the safety of everyone here. >> reporter: they send out an alert and notified a.c. transit that transports more than 80 percent of the students. several dozen students attempted to come to school either by bus or car. >> it will resume as normal tomorrow.

to afford a home. bullying -- it's a parent's worst nightmare and the consequences can be devastating. >> reporter:now the results of a new study show just how long-lasting the effects can be on a child. >> reporter:researchers at boston children's hospital call it a downward spiral. they followed more than four thousand kids from middle school to their high school. >> reporter:the results showed that if a child was bullied they were more likely to have issues with mental health, be less physically healthy, and have more symptoms of depression and lower self-worth. >> reporter:those who experienced consistent and chronic bullying were less interested in simple physical activities -- like walking, running and playing sports. >> reporter:the research showed that nearly half of kids who have or are experiencing bullying both now and in the past had the lowest levels of psychosocial health. >> reporter:and -- this is key to their findings -- the researchers say the health consequences of bullying may compound over time -- and remain long after the bullying ends.

>> pam: it seems some people will do anything to get out of paying taxes. zain asher looks at why some think giving up their u.s. citizenship. is a good way to keep more of their money. >> reporter:see you later uncle sam! that's what 3000 americans decided to say last year - lining-up around embassies and renouncing their u-s citizenship. a cnnmoney analysis of government data shows a dramatic spike in americans turning-in their passports. in fact it was three times the average of the previous five years! >> reporter:why the big rise? you can blame a complicated tax system for some of it. unlike most countries, the u-s taxes citizens on all income regardless of where

it's earned or where you reside. >> reporter:for some ex- patriots - reporting taxes can be so difficult that they need expert help that can cost thousands. >> reporter:what's making things even more complex is a new tax law that targets overseas tax evasion. tax experts say the new law is making things so onerous that more people seem to be throwing in the towel and giving up their u-s citizenship just to simplify things. >> reporter:add to that the fact that banks like deutsche bank have even decided to close out the securities accounts of u-s residents outside of america because they're afraid of big penalties should they make a mistake reporting information on u-s held accounts. the other big factor in giving-up your u-s passport: protecting wealth. while its illegeal to renounce your u-s status to avoid paying taxes - people may be doing it anyway. but giving up your citizenship doesn't mean you're off the hook for back taxes - because you'll still owe them. i'm zain asher in new york.
