continues tonight in the north bay. kron 4's scott rates joins us live from mill valley. >> reporter: 01 and off since i got out here. i am right at the spot in mill valley where the blood is really bad. where is prone to flooding. at the moment it has yet to do that. this is the whole streak that had flooded where the trains were backed up. this the businesses out here are not taking any chances they have decided to bring up sandbags. puddles have started to form on the road always cars are starting to slow down with a lot of slashing out there.

>> pam: and our big story tonight. a powerful storm hitting the bay area. this is a live look from san francisco. >> pam: the rain has been falling most of the day. in los altos, crews are still cleaning up the damage caused when a huge, old pine tree. came crashing down this morning. high winds are being blamed. >> pam: no one was hurt, but the tree took out a pole and a number of power lines in the area. and that meant no electricity for a number of homes. near the corner of el monte road and higgens avenue. >> pam: a san jose boy is making progress. in his battle against a mysterious 'polio-like' disease. that has turned up in california. * * * >> pam: 10-year-old vikash muruhathasan is making steady

progress since he lost most of the feeling in his left hand and arm. some fifteen- months ago. >> pam: vikash is one of about 20 children across california to have contracted the rare illness, which closely resembles the polio virus. there is no known cure at this time. >> pam: through intense physical therapy, vikash is slowly re-gaining the use of his arm and his parents want others who are facing the disease to know. that there is hope. >> a lot to tell the other parents not to give up. he is still in the recovery. but it can help the children did better. this is not that significant they can receive help with their daily activities >> we are seeing a little

this is sarah slow=come a social media consultant who lives in the bay area. she wears her google glass almost everywhere she goes over the weekend her glasses got her a lot of attention at a bar in san francisco. she captured some video of it through her google glass to share what the experience is like when wearing them. >> pam: she says most of the time when she wears her google glass it is received well.. but as kron 4's gabe slate shows us. sometimes it can bring her un=welcomed >>"it was weird, i literally ended up saying 'i can't believe this' over and over again " >> reporter:sarah was out with friends when they entered a bar in the haight ashbury area in san fransico. >>this is video she captured on her google glass. "we were there maybe 15 minutes and two girls that were there started showing a lot of animosity toward me because i was wearing google glass." >>"i walked up to the bar and they were shielding themselves and saying "oh google glass" kind of negative comments. they were trying to shield themselves as if i was recording them it wasn't on. i wasn't using it. it was like if someone pulled out their cell phone and you were trying to dodge the
