have any serious accidents, highway 1 01 right are lucky drive you may encounter flooding. emergency crews are currently on the scene. as we take a look at the bridges there is a list at the bay bridge on all is well and the metering lights are off. there's no problems at the san mateo bridge. there a 12 to 13 minutes. the richmond san rafael bridge has like sprinkles but light traffic. maligned >> a female student that identifies as a male was sexually assaulted on school grounds. police say the student was about to walk out of the bathroom at hercules middle high school when three male students pushed him back in. reports say they then forced themselves on him in the handicapped stall. this is the same school where a transgender teen fought with three other students a few months back. all four students were suspended, but only the

transgender student faces charges. officials say this is a wake up call. >> this is a day program where a school has not gone through the provisions. this will be on the top of my list of things to do because we have to do a better job. a >> police say the victim has been given a sexual assault exam and will be reinterviewed. this is an open investigation. there will be increased police presence on campus today, as well as counseling available to students linea tragic accident in martinez. family and friends are mourning the loss of a 14- year-old girl who was hit and killed by a train sunday. jenna betty was sitting on the tracks with her boyfriend when a train approached. her mother said on facebook that jenna moved away - but then came back to get her cell phone. yesterday, dozens of friends

showed up at the crash site to remember jenna. >> i just cannot process this. i was just talking with her on friday now i met her funeral. i just feel like it is not real. >> employees for the railway tell kron 4 that the freight train was traveling in a 45 mile per hour zone and going under that speed. when asked if jenna could have been dragged under the train - employees say that doesn't happen. >> and their will be a candlelight vigil for jenna betti tonight. it will be held at martinez junior high school at 6:30. organizers are also asking if a student is attending that an adult with with them, and not just dropped off. >> secretary of state john kerry is due to arrive in the capital city, kiev, within hours.

and there are reports the u-s is suspending some upcoming trade and commerce with russia. secretary kerry's visit comes as russian troops tighten their grip on the crimean peninsula. the russian military is reportedly preparing to defend the narrow land that links it to ukraine. as many as six thousand russian soldiers now occupy positions around ukrainian army posts. >> if an fact that continue, we are examining a whole series of steps economic and diplomatic. we will have a negative impact and that is the status in the world. >> president obama also called on congress to work with his administration on economic help for ukraine. and on monday, russia's foreign minister slammed the west for threatening "sanctions and boycotts" over russia's actions in crimea.

>> san rafael police are asking for your help in finding an at-risk elderly man, who has been missing since wednesday night. 93 -year-old robert davis, was last seen at about eight p-m leaving marin joe's restaurant in corte madera-- after having dinner with his daughter. davis' family says he did not return home and has not been heard from or seen since. police said davis suffers from a medical condition and may have become disoriented. it was raining heavily when he left so he may have gotten lost on his way home. he was wearing a beige jacket, yellow sweater and beige slacks when he was last seen. davis was driving a 2001 silver toyota camry with a california license plate 4-s-e-y-0-5-6. officers say the car is missing a right front hubcap and may have damage to one of the fenders. >>

>> a woman is suspected of driving drunk-- which led to an early morning crash in fremont. the crash left her 4-year- old daughter in critical condition. the woman is listed in critical - but stable condition. it happened after midnight monday on osgood road near auto mall parkway. police say the car carrying the child hit an oncoming car. investigators say it appears the mother is to blame for the collision. police say the child was strapped into her car seat ---but the car seat was not properly installed-- that's why she was thrown around the car. the driver of the other car was also cited for d-u-i. >> a san mateo woman has been arrested -- accused of attacking her 75-year-old

mother with a hammer. newark police say cindy lynn burleigh called police sunday morning -- saying she assaulted her mother. the woman was bleeding from the head and was treated for skull fractures. burleigh was arrested for attempted murder-- as well as suspicion of assault and elder abuse she's being held without bail. her mother is still in critical condition. >> a suspect in a loud, bizarre attempted gas station robbery has turned himself in. investigators say 31 year old shane connolly surrendered to san mateo county sheriff's officials monday. they say last wednesday, connolly.in the white tee shirt.tried to rob this shell gas station. >> it was a really weird scene at the shell station on el camino real in san carlos. police say connolly ddn't use a weapon. he was ushered out by the brave employee who refused to give up money. the suspect, connolly, is a redwood city resident who's now been booked for attempetd robbery.

forced most government offices in washington to close. icy conditions sent drivers skidding across roads in pennsylvania. officials shut down one bridge. due to the slick conditions. and the winter storm that broought snow will be bringing bone-chilling temperatures today. you are looking at different snowball fights at different locations on the national mall. a blast of arctic air is expected to send temperatures plummeting into the single digits. all federal offices were closed yesterday. snow is expected from this latest storm.

a strikingeminder that national parks are a powerful economic engine for local economies across the country. the report released monday said five states, including california and arizona, lost more than $20 million during the 16-day shutdown. six states received permission to reopen national parks within their borders using state money. the report said those states generated nearly $10 in visitor spending for every dollar spent. utah, arizona, colorado, new york, south dakota and tennessee all reopened parks. a bill is pending in congress to reimburse those states. >> texas is holding the nation's first primary election today with a political free-for-all in republican races. republican gov. rick perry has decided this current term will be his last of a record 14 years in office, and his looming exit has set off a scramble resulting in the most open races in texas in more than a decade. republicans are favored to win them all come november. and george p. bush, the son of former florida gov. jeb bush, is making his political debut by running for land commissioner. >> you might remember that big sinkhole that swallowed 8 cars last month -- inside the national corvette museum in kentucky. well it turns out, they won't be lost. the museum is bringing in heavy equipment to carefully remove them. they hope to have three of

and request music and more-- all just by talking to your car. apple's basically -- connecting your phoneto the car's dashboard screen. honda, hyundai, ferrari, mercedez-benz and volvo are previewing the new system this week at the geneva auto show. other car makers also plan to adopt car-play in the future. the system requires apple's latest software and any of the i-phone 5 series. >> federal officials have filed a lawsuit alleging that sprint over-billed government agencies $21 million for wiretap services. the department of justice claims in its lawsuit that sprint charged the government agencies for modifying its equipment and facilities to more efficiently intercept electronics communications. in 2006, the federal communications commission prohibited carriers from passing on those expenses to the government. a sprint denies the allegations.

>> dish network and disney have reached a landmark deal that will one day allow dish subscribers to receive a range of tv programming over the internet without the need for a satellite receiver. no start date has been announced, but the deal paves the way for dish to offer live local broadcasts from abc tv stations and programming from disney- owned cable channels like espn and abc family over mobile devices, set-top boxes and other means, similar to how netflix's video streams are delivered today. >> we will take a quick break. the time is for 40 1:00 a.m.. we have light rain outside.
