north a ride. >> developing news out of hayward this morning. a fire burning * right next to another dramatic fire that played out last night.where a family tossed their 3- year-old out a second story window to escape the flames. kron 4's mike pelton is live. mike? >> we were all here earlier ready to report this first fire that happens right behind me when a second fire broke out and it carports. some of us were the first called 91. here is the scene and firefighters were working to knocked this fire out. their rushed back and that were tried to put the second fire out. neighbors had to rush job. fire officials stated that nine cars were damaged. no injuries. >> my 98 honda was destroyed. >>

>> we're learning new information about a string of bay area murders that happened in the 70's -- known as the gypsy hill murders. in 1976, the bodies of five women were discovered at various sites around the peninsula and in reno. the fbi announced yesterday they would be refocusing their efforts on finding the killer. the announcement comes after cathy woodsa woman convicted of the 1976 reno murder of michelle mitchell recently asked for an "evidence review" in the case. investigators found forensic evidence that linked the reno case to the five gypsy hill murderbs in the bay area. officials believe this link could help them in finding their killer. >> potentially, a person travel to and have business there. >> starting next week, a newly formed task force will canvass the neighborhoods where these murders happened. looking for new evidence. >> the time is 6:36 a.m..
