bridge you may encounter that. danville and san ramon are looking at light rain and a lot of it is more mystery. petaluma and novado are saying most of of the rain. parts of of the bay bridge and also here. this is a pretty fast moving system. it will also bring a snow on the higher tops of the lake tahoe area. most of it is most rain. behind this we will say sunshine and the temperatures will warmer. the 57 degrees for hayward. lows 60's in antioch. it is a fairly mild start. >> the highs for today we're talking mainly mid to upper 60s. a few spots will be the

the roads are looking just fine. taking a look at the san mateo bridge, we have basically very light traffic. heading over to the richmond san rafael bridge. the traffic is very light at this hour with no major incidents to report. also, the light rain will come back later. >> a powerful earthquake has hit norther california. officials say a magnitude 6.9 earthquake struck last night around 9-15 off the coast about 50 miles west of eureka. usgs seismologisays more than 300 people have reported feeling the temblor on their website. pacific tsunami warning center has issued a statement on the quake, but not a watch or an advisory. >> a wanted man - caught and under arrest after an officer involved shooting in san francisco's mission district. police tell us the suspect is a convicted felon. and as kron 4's dan kerman

tells us, while under arrest, the suspect is not accused of shooting at the officer. >> and here is a detail look at the arrested of the man who shot at a san francisco police officer. as you can see in this surveillance video a white mercedes pulling into the gas and shop in san jose. another camera angle shows innocent bystanders backing away from their cars with their hands up as c-h-p officers approach the suspects car with guns drawn. officers moved in and pulled out 2 women first who was questioned and have been released. then the suspect jeffrey ruano was taken into custody. >> we do believe that he is a dangerous person. he is a public threat. >> police say the reason why the chase ended at the gas station was because a spike strip was thrown out on 680 to stop the car. >> he allegedly tried to back his carpets of officer. as for the shooting, so far they have fallen no weapons and only one witness can

malaysia airlines flight 370 has been missing for nearly 3 days now. the search continues, with a number of jets and ships joining in. the jetliner lost contact about an hour after take-off from kuala lampur early saturday with 239-people onboard.including three americans. vietnamese search crews spotted what was thought to be one of the missing plane's doors. however --- searchers could not find it when they searched for it.

kron 4's alecia reid has the latest. >> authorities stated that radar is stating that the plane may have turned the ball but had no distress signal. this did not give the pilots a chance to put out a signal. >> the pilots may not had time to think about a strategy but once again we come back to this plight, the triple seven. >> the bowling triple seven did not automatically report any problems and officials said that once is located, data and the black box or showed any motive. according to china's offical verification system, two other passengers were using a stolen passports. the pair bought their tickets

>> welcome back. take a look at this picture.released by gilroy police of two men they call 'persons of interest'. in connection to a stolen s-u-v over two weeks ago. a dog was inside that s-u-v when it was stolen. and when police found the car, the dog was dead. kron 4's phillipe djegal spoke to the pet's owner, who hopes the new image will lead to a break in the case. >> as mike mcvey shuffles through photos of his beloved 15-year-old akita named keiko. sot >> he can't help but wonder

why anyone would leave her for dead. sot >> she was pretty much my family. i do not have much family around here but my nephew. >> now, these photos and her favorite toys still laying where she would often sleep are all that's left of mcvey's companion. sot >> what type 1/6 person would take an animal hole it did nothing to hurt them and just leave it like that. >> on february 23rd, mcvey walked into this walmart in gilroy to buy some food for keiko. >> i was not even inside for more than an hour. >> sot but by the time he had walked out of the walmart, mcvey's suv had been stolen with his dog keiko inside. four days later, the vehicle was found in the parking lot of a san jose walmart -- with keiko dead inside. mcvey says keiko rarely barked, so it's unlikely anyone would have heard her. sot >> if anyone was put some

>> just in to the kron four newsroom. a man is refusing to come down from the rooftop of a building at san diego's f-b-i headquarters office. the man was alone when he climbed over a security gate last night. he then made his way to the roof of the building where he's been hiding out ever since. the f-b-i along with the swat team are at the scene. it's not clear what the man wants or if he's armed. >> justin bieber has a court date today on his assault charge in toronto. this is video of bieber surrendering to police earlier this year. police say in december, there was an argument inside a limo and someone hit the driver several times on the back of the head. bieber faces a charge of assaulting a limo driver in december. a misdemeanor. >> the l=a marathon was a little too overwhelming for some runners who were overcome by the heat. temperatures soared into the

80's during yesterday's race. nearly two dozen runners were treated for heat-related injuries. another one thousand runners looked for help at medical tents along the route. in the most severe cases, a 28 year old man had a heart attack but was resuscitated by paramedics. another person had a seizure. >> there were festive scenes in ukraine this weekend -- as pro-russian demonstrators gathered ahead of a referendum that could alter the world map. cnn's as matthew chance reports, the scene was much different as ukraine unity supporters held their own protest. >> this is more than just about the soviet union. they're preparing for a
