a massive five-alarm fire consumes a giant construction site in san francisco. we have live team coverage on the damage done to that building. and those surrounding it. and -- facebook headquarters. evacuated. employees stream out of the campus. why police were brought in. the kron 4 morning news starts right now. developing news: the first five- alarm fire san francisco has seen in several years. is still causing problems this morning. a condominium building under construction near a-t and t park went up in flames just before five o'clock yesterday evening. and burned for several hours. this is video from our

helicopter partnership with abc 7 news. here is what is happening now: firegfighters have been pouring water on the core of this building through the night into this morning. because it remains hot. there are reports of steel in the building "warpring" due to the heat. that puts what is left of the building. in danger of *collapsing. the intense radiant heat from the fire burned one firefighter's face. the heat also shattered windows of neighboring buildings. residents who live near the development are slowly being allowed back into their homes. but some of those homes have water damage because the fire's heat triggered their fire sprinkler systems. travelers are encouraged to avoid the area of china basin and fourth street all day today. continuing our team coverage on the construction fire near a-t and- t park now. with kron-4's alecia reid, who was our first reporter on the scene. more team coverage. kron-4's jeff bush also was on the scene of the construction fire most of the evening. he watched close to 150 firefighters' respond to the scene. kron four's coverage of the massive construction fire in san francisco. continues on our webpage - kron four-dot- com. and on our twitter and facebook pages. we encourage you to send us

your photographs from the fire zone. so that we might share them with our broader audience. caught a little breaker on headquarters this morning that says it's all clear at facebook headquarters this morning after the campus in menlo park was evacuated because of a threat. scott rates was there as employees cleared out. a power outage affecting residents in the east bay area. right now 65 people are without power in the richmond, el cerrito area at this time.

the cause of the power outage started because of a down power pole. the estimated time for power to be restored will be 10-30 this morning. this just in. another winter storm will hit the midwest and northwest today. this is video from the last big winter storm in the midwest and northeast. one month ago as much as 2 feet of snow is expected today and

tomorrow in the area. chicago could see up to 8 inches of snow. while blizzards warnings are up for western new york. there could be another investigation into whether the c-i-a hampered senate investigators looking into allegations of cia torture during the bush-era war on terror. sen. dianne feinstein says the cia may have violated the law by allegedly hacking into a computer network set up for senate investigators. cia director john brennan says, "nothing could be further from the truth." cia investigations update: senate investigation of cia dogged by controversy washington - there could bea federal judge has upheld a missouri law that puts restrictions on funeral protesters.

when the 49ers traded an undisclosed conditional draft pick to the miami dolphins to get martin. martin is an offensive lineman from stanford, who was the dolphins second round pick in the 2012 draft. he played for stanford when 49ers head coach jim harbaugh coached at stanford. martin tweeted last night, "opportunities are few in

the science building at san francisco state university closed in january will partially be reopened next month. the building was closed after a routine inspection in december found dangerous levels of asbestos, mercury, lead, arsenic and other substances. classes will remain in alternate locations throughout the semester the partial reopen will happen in april and may but most of the building will remain closed. mayor ed lee will be on hand this morning to break ground on renovations to the bay view opera house.

the opera house is san francisco's oldest theater and a registered historical landmark. it also acts as a cultural center for one of the city's most diverse neighborhoods. it hosts after school programs and community meetings along with musical performances. this morning's ceremony starts at 9:30 allergy rates are mostly the same across the country, but the windy and dry conditions in the bay area mean an early start to the spring allergy season.

san francisco firefighters prevented a major blaze from spreading from a condominium construction site to nearby buildings. the five-alarm fire started burning at around 5 p.m. yesterday in the city's mission bay neighborhood. the fire sent an enormous plume of black smoke high into the sky and eventually caused a wall of the structure to collapse. police flooded facebook's headquarters in menlo park to investigate a threat they facebook's campus was locked down tuesday night after san francisco police

passed on a report of a threat shortly after 7 p.m. the area was declared safe, to leave about 8:30 p.m. we want to show you what this fire looked like as it was happening. the exbad enough to see this fire could see it for miles. .but imagine the people who live and work a short distance away. if this is what they were looking at. you begin to understand why people talked about being absolutely terrified. they were watching a giant wall of flames and black smoke.moving quickly and eating through a giant condo project being built. these are scenes from the height of the fire. this is one big building - but with two wings. it basically takes up a huge chunk of a city block. and there was no telling at first whether

fire crews could stop it then the building began to collapse. first - the scaffolding. then huge chunks of the firefighters had set up what they called a "collapse zone".knowing this would happen. and we'll show you some of the scenes from a little later. you can see how the firefighters were trying to attack this from using ladders - and spraying the site from nearby buildings.and rooftops. and when the worst was over.a project called "mission bay 360" was in ruins. it was to feature 360 condos.along with some retail space. the condos - were set to sell for about 630-thousand dollars. and if this hadn't happened.the development would have likely opened by the end of the year.

443 is the time. testimony continues this morning in the trail of four men charged with three murders in san leandro. they also face 4 counts of attempted murder following the 2011 shooting at a tattoo party. investigators say as the party was letting out the

students pornograpy and sexually abused boys ages 11 and 12, guinto was arrested last week and plead not guilty friday on numerous child molestation charges. the accusations have raised concerns at the boy scouts regional headquarters in pleasant hill, where guinto is a former member. a former teacher accused of sexually abusing six children. has pleaded 'not guilty' to more than two dozen felony charges. police say the charges stem from allegations during his time as a teacher at making waves academy in richmond. investigators believe many of the alleged crimes happened during student trips, where ronald guinto served as a chaperone.

arrested and charged with raping a woman in a hotel room while he was on duty. this is the officer. 38- year-old geoffrey graves. he is a 6-year veteran of the force, who turned himself in to mcnamara and and not authorities on monday. he court documents reveal. the room victim in the alleged, including a room one-room movement assault, is a woman who had been escorted to a hotel by graves, after he responded and soon among whom my amprosecutors say, graves then returned to that hotel and attacked the woman in her room.

stories. the five alarm fire in san francisco the rift through this building under this complex under construction and steel park housing problems this morning. that construction site near at&t park when of the flames around 5:00 last night burned for several hours and we still saw flames this morning. fire crews are still working. the scaffolding just melted so there was a danger at least that the building was collapsed. no one was anywhere near it which was a good thing. residents to live near the development are slowly being allowed back in their home but some of those homes have water

richmond teacher accused of sexually abusing his 6 students. investigators say ronald guinto used an after- school program he founded to sexually abused his students during camping trips throughout the bay area. police said on the trips, guinto allegedly show the students pornography and sexually abused boys ages 11 and 12. he was arrested last week and pled not guilty friday on numerous child molestation charges. the acquisitions have raised concerns that the boy scouts regional headquarters in pleasant hill where guinto is a former member. unfortunately we are targets for these type of people. guijnto's bail has been set
