the same army base that was the scene of a mass shooting in 2009. in tonight's >> catherine: shooting.there's word that the gunman has committed suicide.. but before that -- as many as 15 people were shot and wounded. >> catherine: you're looking at the scene on the base.as the word spread. people were being warned by loud speaker that there was everyone should stay inside. and "take shelter immediately". initial reports suggested this began as some kind of argument between two soldiers -- but that has "not" been confirmed. investigators say they're not ruling out anything.including details are being released at this point. >> catherine: what 'has' been confirmed -- the gunman has killed himself. if authorities know who he is -- they're not saying yet. eds: apnewsnow. updates with sheriff's office confirming active shooter. will be updated. an ap reporter is en route. has reported an active shooter to local authorities. lt. donnie adams says the sheriff's office dispatched deputies and troopers from the texas department of public safety to the nearby texas army base. >> catherine: fort hood ordered everyone at the base to "shelter in place." the order was sent wednesday on the base's twitter feed and posted on its facebook page. >> catherine: the 1st calvary division, which is based at fort hood, sent a twitter alert telling people on base to close doors and stay away from windows.
