flames destroy a home in the south bay. and damage others. we'll have an update on the fire. suspended state senator leland yee. will be arraigned in federal court this morning.

community of historic homes. nobody was hurt. but the fire was so hot it melted the cap off a gas meter.which added natural gas to fuel the flames. p-g-and-e crews capped that damaged gas meter. and firefighters stayed late into the night to manage any hot spots. a wild celebration at the university of connecticut last night. as thousands of fans poured out into the streets after the team won the n-c double a men's basketball championship. the huskies beat kentucky 60-54 for the school's second championship in four years. police say there were at least 30 arrests, most of them for damaging property and underage drinking. now look at what kentucky fans were up to in lexington after u-k lost to u-conn. students took to the streets. and started fires.

olympic runner oscar pistorius says he and girlfriend reeva steenkamp sometimes had troubles in their relationship but that they sorted them out. it's the second day of testimony in his murder

a search for a missing hiker in marin county is being

transport 100-thousand tagged young chinook salmon down the sacramento river to the bay by truck in hopes of increasing survival rates. a lack of rain has left stretches of the river too shallow to support the millions of fish that make the swim each year. scientists hope to use the data from the fish to identify trouble spots along the route. seaworld might have to free the whales. the california state assembly is considering a bill that would force seaworld san diego to stop using killer whales in its shows and to release them from their tanks. seaworld san diego houses 10 killer whales, which would be moved into a larger sea pen and could not be bred if the bill became law. five people were arrested over the weekend for a counterfeit credit card operation. the sonoma county sheriffi's office says the fake cards contained numbers from

legitimate credit cards but a false name or the name taken from a stolen driver's license. two of the suspects tried to get cash from an atm at the graton resort and casino and three of them were successful in getting several thousands dollars at another a-t-m. a sheriff's deputy who contacted one of the suspects at the casino discovered an elaborate counterfeit credit card operation in the rohnert park hotel room. a 10 year old girl out of ohio has been cited for damaging several cars. all while she was asleep!.

police say the girl was scared and crying when they arrived. her stepdad says she was sleepwalking when she got a hold of the carkeys, got into the car and drove two and a half blocks, smashing into parked vehicles including a big rig. the 10 year old was cited for not wearing a seatbelt. and operating a vehicle without a license. watching wall street. and today investors hope there will be an end to the market's longest losing streak in two months. yesterday wrapped up three straight days of losses. with the dow off over 300 points in the last 3 days the dow lost 166 points.

the state senate has erased the names and online archives of three suspended lawmakers entangled in ethical scandals including leland yee. the others were sen. rod wright of los angeles and sen. ron calderon of montebello. over the weekend, the senate removed pictures, video clips and legislative archives belonging to the democratic lawmakers. last month, the senate voted to suspend the lawmakers in an attempt to clean up the state legislature. gov. jerry brown has also called on the three to resign.

the three continue to receive their $95,000 annual salaries but are not collecting per diem. the minimum wage debate is reaching a fever pitch in the bay area. san francisco has mandated universal health care and paid sick leave -- in addition to its already- high 10-74 minimum wage. but one group wants to take it even higher.to 15 dollars an hour. the coalition for a fair economy is a group comprised of organized labor and other advocacy groups.

a classroom fight between a student and a teacher lands two teenagers in police custody.

clause an 18 year old student from santa monica high school was arrested for getting into this fight. he's also charged with having marijuana and carrying a box cutter on campus. a 16 year old also arrested for battery. its not clear what started the fight. the teacher is on leave while school officials investigate. and from the classroom to parliament. this brawl broke out in ukraine after a communist leader accused nationalists of playing into the hands of russia.
