>> anny: authorities say a storm packing powerful straight-line winds has overturned around a dozen campers in the coastal mississippi community of gautier. the sun herald reports that the storm toppled the recreational vehicles at around 8 p.m. monday. police capt. jerry cooksey tells the newspaper that emergency responders are going from trailer to trailer looking for anyone trapped or hurt. there were no immediate reports of injuries or deaths. national weather service meteorologist robert ricks says straight-line winds of about 50 mph overturned the rvs and that none of them were tied down. he says the weather service doesn't believe it was a tornado. a severe thunderstorm warning was in effect in advance of a strong cold front. >> james: people with old social security debts are getting a reprieve - for now. the social security administration had been participating in a program in which thousands of people were having their tax refunds seized to recoup overpayments that happened more than a decade ago. on monday, acting social security commissioner carolyn w. colvin said she was suspending the program while the agency conducts a review.

minutes ago. investigators say this having happened in a parking lot of restaurant. officers are there now looking for evidence. >> in the san jose area a 2 alarm fire broke out about 4:00 a.m.. fire crews are working to try to keep the fire from spreading. no word on if there any injuries. we have our crew in route and we will bring you the latest information. >> anny: another officer on the wrong side of the law-- a santa clara county protective officer. working at valley medical center is behind bars-- accused of the unthinkable with children. the alleged victims of derrick hammond were minors at the time of the offenses, but are now adults. kron-4's scott rates has more. >> here is his picture, we learned that he works at the

valley medical center. he was employed as a protective services officer. they arrested him back on march 19th after a lengthy investigation. all of his victims are now adults but when this crime took place they were children. he is facing 10 counts of child molestation. one count of child pornography. i spoke out to someone from the job and i have not heard back. he is due back in court at may 16th, he is expected to make a play. >> scott rates kron4 new is. >> anny: police in oakland say, an animal control officer was attacked by a pit bull. this is video of the scene on monday from our helicopter partnership with a-b--c 7. it happened as crews were responding to an animal

abuse call on 11-th avenue near east 22nd street. officials say, the officer war bitten on the hands, forearm and leg. shortly afterward, the dog was contained. police have not released any other details at this time. >> james: now onto a story we told you about yesterday-- new concerns about the safety of the new eastern span of the bay bridge. independent engineers say, there is rust in the strands and rods that make up the main cable of the self- anchored suspension span. these engineers say, that rust could compromise the longevity of the bridge. as well its performance in the event of an earthquake, but bay bridge officials do not agree with that conclusion. and they say they are not seeing rust in those areas. >> this does not affect driver safety or".seismic performance." >> james: bridge officials say, its engineers have inspected those areas. and only found rust from the
