trafficking. good morning. i'm james fletcher. and i'm anny hong. developing news this morning. an evening yacht club race turns deadly last night. kron 4 obtained this video from a witness. of emergency crews rushing in. right after the race. firefighters say a mast on one of the sailboats *broke . and one sailor died of a head injury. an official with the "sequoia yacht club" said, the accident happened sometime during a race that started at 5- o'clock yesterday. a witness at the marina, off of seaport boulevard. told kron 4. he saw a body pulled from the water. and put into a coroner's van. the victim has not been identified. an alarming discovery in berkeley: a teenage girl found completely naked, says she was robbed, raped, kidnapped, and left on a street corner. now the case is being linked to sex trafficking. kron 4's scott rates has the details.

new this morning. police are investigating the deadly shooting of a boy as a homicide. the shooting happened-40 on country hills drive. when officers arrived on scene they found the boy not breathing and had multiple gunshot wounds. emergency personal tried resuscitate the boy but he was pronounced

patients who have been legally able to grow their longer be able to do so in martinez. the city council voted unanimously to introduce the "weed cultivation ban" ordinance. before the ban, state law allowed qualified patients to grow as many plants as is medically neccessary, which means no more than six mature or 12 immature plants per patient. the city of martinez claims that pot plants are a theft risk, some people don't like the smell, and kids could steal them.patients are mobilizing to stop the

east bay city of martinez from banning outdoor cultivation of medical cannabis this wednesday at a city council meeting that is scheduled to start at 7 p.m. at city hall, 525 henrietta street, martinez. the ban would shred california's prop 215, which voters passed in 1996. prop 215's stated goal was "to ensure that seriously ill californians have the right to obtain and use marijuana for medical purposes where that medical use is deemed appropriate" state law finds that qualified patients can grow as many plants as is medically necessary, though state guidelines call for no more than six mature or 12 immature plants per patient.

but martinez is planning to ban all outdoor growing, based on a california supreme court ruling from 2013, which found that cities can ban dispensaries. that ruling is now being applied to the cultivation of even a single pot plant in places like fresno. such cultivation bans are being challenged in court. still ahead on the kron 4 morning news. rescuers continue to search for survivors after a ship capsized in south korea. as there is still hope loved ones will be found. an apartment fire in san francisco turns deadly. as a mother and her child are killed.

and the father. devastated. the severe drought still taking a toll on california. how it will take a toll on your grocery budget. after the break a deadly fire rips through a san francisco apartment.killing a mother and her three year old son. the fire broke out shortly before 10 yesterday morning, in a 2- story apartment in san francisco's sunnydale housing project. three people were inside at the time. and one woman was able to get out. but the woman's niece and her son, both died in the fire. the toddler's father, saying he is devastated. .i'm devastated." the cause of the fire is still under investigation. those who lived in the units

and a toddler is among two people dead from an apartment fire in san francisco. the fire broke out inside a two-story public housing building shortly before 10 a.m. in the sunnydale neighborhood. firefighters on the scene trying to rescue five adults and one child, saw one resident jump out of a window to escape the flames and heavy smoke coming from the first floor.

three people remain missing after sunday's 5-alarm fire in san jose. and yesterday, firefighters used cadaver dogs to search the scene. but have not found anything yet. meantime, a man named stillman pfeffer. has been charged with setting the fire in the building formerly used as a t-v station. the fire caused more than 3 -million dollars in damage. a judge ordered pfeffer held without bail. his plea hearing is in a week. about a hundred professional dog walkers, their supporters, and a lot of dogs marched through fort mason to the golden gate park national recreational park headquarters to protest the new rules that would restrict dog walkers to six

dogs per walker. many professional dog walkers say that park officials are trying to impletment their dog manageement policy earlier than promised and are going against their own procedures. but park officials say they are not and want to put some order into dog walking. professional dog walkers. rallying against proposed changes. in the golden gate national recreation area. about a hundred professional dog walkers, their supporters, and a lot of dogs marched through fort mason to the park headquarters to protest the new rules that would restrict dog walkers to six dogs per walker.

it is tough to see it. this morning redwood city are here here's video the 42 ft. catalan up collided with a marker buoy and a channel outside of redwood city and became entangled. redwood city fire officials said the mast on the boat snapped and as a result wind up killing a person. a second person sustained head injuries we're told initially other boats had a problem reaching the catalina. and a usgs of gold in the area and wound up unfortunately one of them died for their injuries. the second person was taken to hospital unclear of their extent injuries. we will
