minute later. police are already on the hunt here. now sealed off the neighborhood. some other video of this man hunt. police dogs are brought in here, sealing off an area here by mount pleasant road and rocky mountain avenue. a school nearby, fortunately, did not have to be locked down because they are on spring break. these two guys last seen jumping fences in the backyards here. managed to get away. here's san jose police lieutenant her with more on how this played out this morning. >> we had our first robbery occurred about 4:30 over on white road. and then we had a report of suspicious person a neighbor had called in. two males in the area, case s cars. and the third description matched the description of the suspect in the first robbery. officers went out, made contact with those two persons who immediately fled on foot into

the neighborhood. during that foot pursuit, a second robbery at the 7/11. so the officer was able to have a visual on them, but lost track of them. >>reporter: now, take a look, a close look at this. this is another piece of surveillance video we found from a home here on mount -- you can see that the video captures what looks like a shadow, hiding in a garage here. you can see him moving around there and then a san jose police car cruises by. we're going to go back to the other surveillance video as well to show you that these men were in the store less than a minute. may be taking a cell phone video. but both of these suspects, both considered to be armed and dangerous in that store for less than a minute. we're not sure exactly how much they got away with, but an undisclosed amount of lottery tickets and cash. going through that video frame

by frame and hoping to get some more information from the clerk and the customer to come up with some sort of suspect description here. that's the very latest reporting from the 7/11 outside mount pleasant road. live in san jose, kron 4 news. new tonight at 5:00, getting our first look at the man who police say fired off a gunshot in a daly city medical bidding this week, 84 year old raymond was in a redwood city courtroom today and he has now been charged with attempted murder. investigators say he's a former patient. and shot at a doctor on wednesday. this is the scene from our helicopter partnership with abc 7 news. you can see all the emergency crews in the area. nobody was hurt, but the shooting did send the medical center into lock down. there are also evacuations, the motive of this incident, still unknown at this time. april showers covered much of the bay area today. this is a live look outside from our camera in san francisco. look at the clouds still hovering over the city.

tell you when coming up. and new snow fall ing in the se yes ra, what you can expect if you are heading up to the mountains this weekend. happening now, stanley police are on the hunt for a man who touched himself inappropriately while peeping at kindergartners on a school campus. this all happening at dayton elementary school and as kron 4 shows up, parents are upset. >> the guardian of one of the students spotted a man on campus in wednesday afternoon in the main hall of the l skoo. another child's grand maur, peering through a window out on to a patio area. now, the witness says he had his hands down his pants and touching himself inappropriately. once the man noticed he had been spotted, walked off campus and the guardian notified the principal. that was all on wednesday. we asked the district representative why some parents are just finding out today. >> again, we're working with

something that was alleged so we have to move forward with the best way possible. >>reporter: several parents had not heard what happened. did not notify them of this incident. >> frustrating. it will alarm you if your child -- alarm me if they said he was in question. >> startling, i've got two kids, right here, that goes to the school. and i wish i was notified about it when it happened. >>reporter: police tell me they have no idea if this man. hispanic man, 58 to 65 year old. now, a district representative tells me since the insurance accident, several policy changes to the school, can't give specifics, they are taking this allegation seriously and trying to figure out exactly what happened and who was involved. kron 4 news. in the east bay, school officials are sending out warning letters to parents. this after it was discovered

that somebody was targeted students on social media. kron 4's show us what's happening in pleasant ton. >> this letter being sent out to parents it is warning parents about someone soliciting students on a social media site asking those students to trade nude photos of them. the school officials say that they are working with police and instagram the social media site, to figure out who is behind this, they believe that it's coming from outside the area. the district right now is not releasing how many students have been contacted. instagram is very popular with teens, allowing them to easily share photos with one another. teens i spoke with here at amador high school, it is disturbing that someone is trying to get pornographic pictures, parents say it's challenging to keep up with all of the different aspects of social media at their kids fingertips. >> the different things they

use, instagram is not one of them they use. >>reporter: how difficult is it as a parent. >> it's hard. >> kids that have been at this school for about 30 years apart, all of them, and this doesn't surprise me. >>reporter: other parents say that they used the letter as another opportunity to talk with their children about the pearls of the internet and social media sites. >> for me, it's we talked to the kids all the time about being safe on the internet, being safe about what pictures you take, what articles you post and so on. >> the district is not saying how many students were contacted and whether any students did engage with the person. kron 4 news. there is more follow up tonight regarding the video which showed a san francisco fire truck winning over one of the victims last july. looking at the video, when this helmet video became public, it not only made it clear that the 16 year old girl had been run over, it showed that other

firefighters had spotted her earlier. and pointed out the fact the teenager was lying there on the tarmac. now, san francisco's fire chief has taken back a reprimand who's camera captured these scenes. unauthorized filming in the work place. but then chief hayes white changed her mind, saying, there was not enough evidence to support that. the firefighters attorney successfully argued that the department didn't even have a specific policy against helmet camera recording. you're looking at the young victim here. critics say this is a perfect example of why there should be helmet recordings. coming up, 5:15, what a woman's body shape apparently says about her romance. too much spirit, how one nfl is dealing with a lawsuit from cheer leaders, stan ford research which shows steps to

0001 tips, don't lie, at least according to he rer as muchers, how many partners a woman has is by the width of her hips. the study comes from the journal called archives in sexual behave error. researchers found women who were more inclined to have one night stands had wider hips. hipbone, women with hips wider than 13.2 inches had more sexual partners and more one night stands than women with hips under 12.2 inches wide. researchers believe this shows a

correlation between hip width and a woman's concern over the risk of birth related trauma. that's what they think cuts down on it. >> well, the rain is tapering off at this hour, look live from the bridge, you can see some sun breaks and drier pavement here over the bridge. as far as those rainfall totals over the past 24 hour, generally, about a quarter of an inch of rain or less. but there were some spots that saw more than that because of the spotty thunderstorms, napa, just about two-thirds of an inch of rain. about a third of inch of rain there. oakland, 2 tenths of a rain there. thunderstorms really did mess up the rainfall totals quite a bit this afternoon. in a good way, we do need the rain. you can see the rain is all push to go the central valley, all that yellow and orange, thunderstorms all going to the central valley where we are

seeing lighten strikes now. we could see see a wayward shower or two this evening. largely, going to stay dry, and then we have another round of rain coming in for saturday night. so tonight, we will some clearing skies and chilly temperatures. this weekend, a chance of showers overnight saturday into sunday. so for the most part, saturday during the day, sunday during the day, going to be just fine. then as we head into next week, a major warming trend in store. let's start first with future cast this evening, a few spotty showers remain. people have asked me if i think the oakland a's game will be on, as long as they covered the field earlier today. in the rest of the evening, drying conditions and going to fast gard all the way to our next chance of rain. dry all the way through saturday morning and start to see increasing clouds into the late morning and early afternoon, the evening, that's when the chance of rain is going to return, about 10:00, 11:00 o'clock in the north bay, and overnight into saturday morning, that's when the rain will roll through.

away on that hawaii bound flight from san jose's airport, looking at the photos from britain's daily mail. released these photos of him, who flew in the wheel well of 767 hoping to eventually find his mother in somalia. the boy's father falsely told their children she died in a rocket attack. and remarried, took their children to the u.s. in 2006. the last time she saw them, he says that she miss them and is in the process of getting a sponsor so she can move to the u.s.. she says her son was furious when he found out a couple of years ago that his father had lied to him about her death. the teenager remains hospitalized in hawaii. in bay area sports news, 49ers -- alden smith. after the legal trouble smith has been in, do the 49ers see

0001 this is the bay area's news station. kron 4 news starts now. tonight, new details emerging in the fiery crash between a fedex truck and bus, which was carrying a number of

high school students, that accident killed 8 bus passengers and both drivers in or land. that's a town about 30 minutes from chi co. back now, she has details on the just released crash report. >> pam, and in that preliminary report, investigators say the truck driver lost control, crossing into the median, right into oncoming traffic on i-5. the report doesn't explain why he lost control. we do learn, though, some details of his previous arrests that day. the truck driver began the shift in sacramento. that's about 2 hours north of where the crash happened. he was on a return trip with two other trailers when the crash happened. the bus was charted to bring los angeles area high school stein yors to humble state university, that driver took over the trip in sacramento and as we mentioned earlier, the crash killed both drivers and three adults, five high school students. the full report is posted on our

website, kron 4.com. and an amazing rescue caught on camera and discovered weeks later. a camera found on a beach in hawaii shows the rescue of a snoshg letter from his point of vie. no one knows to know where he is now. he picked a bad spot, apparently, to enter the water and things got worse from there. he waded into the rough water on a hawaii beach. his water proof camera was recording the entire incident. a man surfing nearby was able to grab him. he was struggling in the water and managed to save his life. he dropped the camera onshore and someone found it weeks later. the identity of him is still a mystery, but lucky to be alive. and a developing story, a grus sm discovery in the hull of that sunken south korea ferry. found the bodies of 50 schoolgirls crowded into a single cabin. all wearing life jackets and had apparently been obeying the

crew's instructions to stay put and wait for rescue. >> 7 crew members have been arrested, among them a to year old woman at the helm of the ferry. told investigators, i made mistakes, but for some reason, the steering turned faster than usual. a scale model to show how car go can shift to one side if it is not properly secured. in the worst case, the ship capsizes. investigators have inspected a sister ship and its emergency escape plans. they say they found the following issues. life rafts on board, 40 did not work. the emergency slides did not work. there was no equipment to tie down cars. and the equipment for tying down the containers didn't work very well. contrary to previous reports, the evidence did not indicate the ferry was carrying more than

its maximum car go or nearly 4,000 tons. on the day of the accident, i was carrying more cars, but fewer shipping containers. the investigation is also focusing on renovations to the ferry, last year, the top floor was expanded to accommodate another 117 passengers. and that could have made the ship more top heavy. the criminal investigation included a raid on the ferry company headquarters. and the home of its patriarch, a rekrusive billion air with a controversial past. is a religious as well as a financial figure. in the 1980s, he was the leader of a cult that made headlines when dozens of its members died in a mass murder suicide. himself was not implicated. but, he is is currently leader of a church with 20,000 members. most of the crew of the doomed ferry were his religious

security camera, this is what she spotted, a big black bear. out of hibernation this time of year and hungry. the bear not only targeted the bird feeder, he tore holes in the screen windows of a neighbor's house. very bold all over the yard and sidewalk. start focusing more on everything from how they leave out garbage to getting rid of their bird feeders and a rare cross breed has made its debut. a zoo in mexico. a cross between a zebra and a donkey. say they he is the result of a unlikely love store. the mother is a zebra, and the father a don ki, they used to visit each other at the zoo every noon. extra rare because zebra and dong ki -- from the legs down. pam. pet, and their owners, can share disease, especially if

obviously, we did have heavier cell push over oakland airport. most places, though, did see a quarter of an inch of rain or less, like mill valley, san jose, and -- as we look at storm tracker 4 radar, see things are calm right now. a couple of showers up through the north bay, that's pretty much it. satellite and radar pictures showing a big chunk of activity, now the central valley, where we are still seeing some lightning strikes and hail at this hour. the spotty cloud pattern along the coastal waters. some showers will remain near the coast and pass over the bay area this evening. a lull in the rain before another round of rain, which is well offshore, pushes in for saturday night into sunday. so let's take a look at tonight first, a few lingering showers into the 6:00 o'clock hour. as we're seeing right now. as we move into the 8:00 o'clock hour, really just one cell, the

tonight. the weather from twin peaks in san francisco, first, let's check in with kron 4's chief meteorologist. >> we did some see brief moderate downpours out there today. kind of off and on. and kind of scattered all around the bay area. right now, things are calmer. looking at the bay bridge toll plaza, see some sun breaks in the distance. the traffic is not good, though. as we take a look at storm tracker 4 radar, the main band of ran is gone. up in the north, highway 101, light rain there. light rain also, seeing this one light cell over the richmond bridge, all bringing some spotty showers to the golden gate bridge and then down in the south bay, evergreen seeing looks like a little bit of heavier rain here. a weak thundershower that's developing over the area. rain faufl fall totals from today, they did vary quite a bit. san francisco, a quarter of an inch of rain.
