welcome back to kron 4 morning news. the dow jones up 45 points. the nasdaq rising 11. and the s & p up 5.5. we're in the middle of the earning season. right now futures unchanged. we'll the opening bell in an hour from now. subway is leading the -- combined these cases found about 1,000 fair labor standard act violations and they resulted franchises having to reimburse subway workers more than $3.8 million over those years. subway has more than 26,000 locations around the country. that is the most of any fast food chain. facebook unvailed an anonymous log in feature that will allow feesers to sign into

>> reporter: yesterday i was out here and it was moderate level. obviously things have changed over night. temperatures increased yesterday. you had the high winds here in the oakland hills. always a problematic spot. because of that cal fire issued an unprecedented early season burn ban. across the state. now darya this is only the first of may and we are already starting to see that we will have an early fire season. yesterday we had -- yesterday and last night we had three acre brush fire in ant yock. santa dollar a and senator

mccain -- santa clara and san mateo county are on the list. it's only may 1st and already we are starting to see some of the fuel out here. up here in the oakland hills you have this fire alert sign telling you it's a high fire danger. the thing you really notice is look how dry the brush is out here. as i said it's only may 1st. the drought we are currently in the lack of water has really already started to dry things out here. and because of that obviously cal fire is putting the alert out thousand. these are conditions that we would normally see later in the summer. times like september, october. it's may 1st and we are already starting to see it. it may be a very long fire season out here and cal fire is already withouting the word out here. >> yesterday all of this stuff was really blowing and you were telling me how windy it is. how about today? >> no wind today which is great

they are on streets with 15 miles an hour speed limits. still drivers choose to ignore that. so far this year there have been seven pedestrian deaths in san francisco. a san jose mother stabbed to death in broad daylight. her name has not been released but she is the mother of three young children. her husband came home and found her body in their apartment. she had been stabbed at least once. residents in the area didn't know the family very well. saying they moved in a couple months ago but one neighbor believes she may have known her killer. >> and he left a motorcycle right across the street. >> it was really sad. because i see her walking the kids to school and stuff.

it was close to home. because she was a mother. >> it's the city's 13th murder and police do not have a suspect. >> operations should be back to normal at lax after flights were grounded for more than two hours yesterday. the faa says the delays were caused by a computer failure at an air traffic control facility. lax spokesperson said they had at least 30 planes on the ground and it wasn't just planes leaving l.a.. they had to be diverted to other airports. a notice on the faa website say it was the enroute automake system that failed. that allows air traffic controllers to identify and direct planes. knowing when to book a flight can feel like high stakes gambling. tuesday, wednesday, and late at night and early in the morning. they say are good. now new data indicates 54 days before you want to fly is the

we are seeing top speeds as you work your way to highway 24. thank you. baltimore ravens running back ray rice will be in court today to face aggravated assault charges stemming from this incident from his then girlfriend. this is video of rice lifting his fiance up and dragging her out of the elevator back in february. what happened? >> she had passed out. and so you know he pulled her in and shoved. kind of hit her or something. >> why was she unconscious? >> they got married. >> they've got to sort that out in court. >> this is not the first time we have seen this and with anybody in the world. 540 is the time we have lots more ahead.

from our camera. you can see how clear things are. i survived. it was a little uncomfortable sleeping last night. >> that is the deal. it will still be in the 60s and 80s -- still be in the 60s and 70s. it is warm out there and stays warm into the evening. here is our mount tam camera. visibility is fantastic. there is no marine layer, there is no fog. it is clear this morning. and eventually it will be awfully hot. temperatures right now mild. we have 63 in san francisco. toy in oakland and san jose. upper 50s for concord. 60 right about there in liver mother and santa rosa our cool spot at 51. we are off to a mild start. so far so good although eventually over the next 24-48

in some of the cash lens you can see the headlights lining up there. as you work your way out of the east bay and into ma rain county. we are still hot spot free drive time 12-13 minutes between hercules and berkeley. now i have been keeping an eye on westbound 580. seeing slowing coming out of tracy. speeds averaging about 35 miles an hour down to 25 miles an hour approaching downtown liver mother but it looks like we do make some improvement as you make your way -- happening today hundreds of union members are expected to rally at san francisco city hall to celebrate international workers day. today's rally twins at noon and will highlight recent successes in promoting the working class in san francisco.
