tonight the wildfire in the north bay this is the same from helicopter partnership with abc seven. the plants are burning in two counties, napa and lake counties. the 3,800 a. have been charged since this fire broke out yesterday afternoon and still 30 percent contained. seven buildings have been destroyed with two of them being homes and the others in danger. at least 180 homes this is the spider is affecting. fire is affecting. >> reporter: 70 structures have burned including two homes. as the step of the

>> pam: the discovery of what police say are some suspicious items, has led to enhanced security measures at washington hospital in fremont. >> pam: washington hospital is now under a high security alert, which means anyone entering a hospital building is subject to increased security screenings, including the inspection of personal belongings. >> pam: fremont police say there is no immediate threat and no explosives were found but they and the f.b.i. are trying to find out who left the suspicious items and why.. hold >> fully we can find out who left the items there. we are not sure if someone just discarded the items or less there for the purpose of causing some concern with the people at the hospital. >> pam: several hospital workers and visitors alike say they're finding the extra security a bit unsettling, but are okay with it.

>> pam: residents of a san mateo neighborhood are concerned tonight after a mountain lion was spotted near their homes twice in the last week. >> pam: these residents live along fernwood street, which backs up to a creekbed which is home to herds of deer. >> pam: monday nighta mountain lion killed a young deer in the creek bed and then returned again this morning and attacked another deer. all within 50 yards of one man's home tim weber/spotted mountain lion: it is a little worrisome, we are in its habitat but it's scary because there are young kids, everybody has animals , there have been postings that peoples cats are missing so it's a little concerning >> pam: the california department of fish and wildlife says these animals are in their natural habitat and they have no plans to track, trap or kill the mountain lion. >> pam: they do advise residents not to leave pets outside unattended.
