welcome back to the kron 4 morning news on this thursday morning. stock features with some losses here with a drop in housing starts. do you features we're down about 20 points. the first numbers are coming in from wall street. we'll bring you the numbers throughout the morning. >> it's 6:29, we want to continue our coverage of the deadly shootout in stockton. one hostage and 2 of the robbers are dead. will is at the crime seen with the latest. >> reporter: darya, we're approaching 17 hours and the crime see is still here. this is where it ended. at one point it went down to low dive. a police officer expects this screen, this neighborhood to be shut down well into the neighborhood as they continue to

process the evidence. this is a wild shootout and the suspect's suv is riddled with bullets because there was a shootout. the police officers were in hot pursuit at the time. here's video that we want to show you with our partnership abc 7. this started at a bank about 2 miles from the location where i'm going live. they left that bank with 3 hostages, 2 employees and a customer. they went on the freeway for a brief moment, went to low dive and they're not sure why they went to stockton. they're familiar with this area. 2 women were thrown from the car or i should say they left the car. they're not exactly sure if the suspect through the women from the car or they jumped. once they got to this location here, the shootout really intensified where there was a

3rd victim. they're not sure if she was shot by the suspect or the police officers accidentally hit her in the exchange of gunfire. we have learned her identity. her name is misty sting. we had a chance to talk to her family. they believed the police department could have done better in trying to protect the other two victims as well as their family members. let's listen in. apparently we don't have the sound at this time but i can tell you they were frustrated with what's going on. we'll try to have that sound coming up at 7:00. as far as this screen goes, there's hundreds of bullets that need to be processed. this screen is so large darya. when i first arrived here, i was on the other side of the crime screen tape here. i'm talking about a mile of mislocation here. i could not pass through that. they told me to drive around

which was about 4 miles of meandering around this neighborhood and when i got here, this is where they told me to be. we're waiting for the public information officer to arrive. everybody knows how stockton tends to be violent. when i got here, i asked the police officer what's going on, can we talk to the public information officer. he said hold on, i want you to stay here because shots are fired still. i said wait a minute, are there still suspects firing shots at you? i said no. the neighborhood itself, there are some people in the neighborhood firing gunshots in the air without regard to the police officers and without regards to being arrested as well. you have a taste of how stockton is. the police officers, they're concerned as well. sadly one hostage died, two suspects died and one suspect is

>> an accident in sunnyvale. northbound 101 first reported at matilda and now it's closer to ellis street. as we feared it's backing up westbound 237. mark. >> thank you, the 49ers are having the ribbon cutting for their new home. it looks pretty nice from here jackie. >> reporter: it's been years in the planning, a lot of controversy about it, where it was going to be be built, how much it's going to cost, but new it's finally the day to open up the stadium. the cutting ceremony is today on this $1.2 billion stadium. you can see the seats there. it's taken years to get this off the ground. here's some video from earlier in the construction process. the san francisco 49ers unveiled

their new state of the art stadium. it's a $1.2 billion price dog. dignitaries across the bay area, from the san francisco 49ers and the league officer expected to be here. the commissioner of the national football league. the san francisco 49ers play in a dilapidated candle stick for many years and now they have a chance to show off their state of the art stadiums. they say it's one of the greenest stadiums. they utilize solar power here here. this is a big deal for them. they have wanted to move out here for such a long time. there was controversy on where it was going to be. all that is washed away. it's about the opening ceremonies. now the football season doesn't

welcome back to the kron 4 morning news. we have obtained information on the accident with the mayor. he was not on the phone during the crash and now the department is unable to determine if she was on the phone. as dan we ports, that does not tell the full story. >> reporter: oakland police are not able to determine who was at fault in the crash involving jean kwaun and they are not able to tell if cell phone was in

use. they couldn't pin point the time of the crash. the collision report obtained by kron 4 news said that collision occurred at 5:45 and then 5:25. >> it looked like she labored hard to find the time of the accident that would free her from the accusation that she was on the cell phone. >> charles kelly is the attorney for the ore woman in the crash. he had the phone records. >> the police report and the police report raise more questions than they answer. >> reporter: here's why. the mayor said that the crash was at 5:30. they said she was on the phone for 2 minutes which means she would be on the phone at the

time of the crash. the mayor then stated the crash occurred at 5:45. then phone records said she was on the phone for 2 minutes. the mayor ultimately settled on 5:25, when phone records suggest she was not on the phone. in a follow up interview with the police, she had two phone calls with her husband, one before the collision and one after. the mayor is sticking by her original statement that she was not on her cell phone at the time of the collision. renee's attorney said he willdy pose the mayor until he gets to the bottom of this. all right, 6:47 is the time right now. we want to get caught up on the weather and traffic. >> we're going to begin with the satellite radar view. the wet weather we've been

seeing in terms of light sprinkles. the bulk of that is to our north. we're picking up some light drizzle at the golden gate bridge. so just be prepared to work the wipers as you cross that span. the rest of the bay area is just seeing overcast conditions. our live shot from the roof is showing us the overcast conditions here. we're seeing it from the san mateo bridge. we're also seeing rays of sunshine so the clouds are beginning to break up. we're looking for a mostly sunny forecast for our inland east bay and south bay neighborhoods as we head into the afternoon hours. the sun hapt had a chance to warm us -- hasn't had a chance to warm us up. we should see temperatures climb and head towards the 80 degree mark. we're going to have 80 in santa clara. and sunny sky in the south bay

this afternoon. the east bay, it depends where you are. inland valley, you'll be sunny. 80 degrees for the warmest spots. along east bay shoreline, you'll be in the low 70s. partly cloudy today in downtown. and in the north bay, it's partly cloudy for the valley with temperature in the low to mid-70s, mostly cloudy in the mid coast. your forecast calls for increasing temperatures. the weekend looks fantastic. mostly sunny sky in the afternoon hours. now on to traffic, george any problems out there? >> there are indeed tracking a hot spot here in sunnyvale. 101 in the northbound direction. an accident off the road way but emergency vehicles blocking the right happened lane. it's blocking up 237 and northbound 101 jamming up that

ride. also affecting the ride is san jose of earlier occurring problems. the bay bridge is backing up towards the mca thur. and your commute to the san mateo bring, 192 is beginning to slow down early. we're seeing things slou down with a 15 to 18 minute drive time. at the golden gate bridge, that foggy ride southbound is not delayed because of the weather or any traffic problems, it's still a very light and easy ride through marion county. darya. >> thanks george. now a story on my kron 4. scammers claiming to be a san francisco dog day care business. they took $800 to this scheme.

it does have a happy ending. >> we're just really happy to get the money back. >> reporter: a mistake hurt his business. it got duke out of a whoing $080. >> that's a lot of money for a small business. >> reporter: her dog day care got caught up in a scam. someone claimed they did not pay $769. within 30 minutes the utility company will turn the power off. the general manager purchased a money pack, a method to transfer money. he gave the representative the access code and just like that, the money was gone. >> i feel violate in the sense. i feel like i was taken advantage of. >> reporter: a green dot money pack is just like cash. this makes recovering the money difficult. there's a list of approved
