>>j r stone: this evening he can still see some of the damage left behind from the fire. he conceded the land has been broken out and the black ash all around every which way. one of the guys upstairs had to jump out of that window seat safety and he broke his leg. he was in surgery but is doing ok. the good news is that everybody survived this fire. in the video you can see one of the homes right next door also caught fire and you can see the family take items outside. you can see the hole in the roof and will need an entire new one.

on the main house for this caught fire weakened see the flames here for people had to escape from this fire and two dogs perished. >>: i saw one of the young men in the house and i was screaming and i saw someone jump out the left side that window. it looked like a movie. it looked like batman jumping from one house to the other. i couldn't believe that people are jumping out of the house. the fire just kept going from one room to the other room. it was strange and never saw anything like it in my life

>>grant happy apple company has issued a recall of its brand of caramel apples -- following concerns the sweet treat could be contaminated with listeria outbreak. the missouri-based company says one of their suppliers based at a california facility reported there may be a link between the deadly outbreak and apples it had supplied. the recall comes after at least three deaths and at least 29 illnesses in 10 states were linked to the outbreak. safeway also pulled prepackaged caramel apples from its shelves -- after the family of an 81- year-old still had hope we will talk about the movie of the interview in the dollar's.

officer shot and killed a black teenager the day before. as a number of people recorded video of police officers arresting a protester, a few people covering their faces shouted at police -- at least one throwing something at the officers. elsewhere, protesters blocked traffic on the highway demonstrating against what some believe was another injustice by police. peaceful demonstrations ran in stark contrast to scuffles with police the night before, as emotions boiled over in an area not far from where a ferguson police officer killed an unarmed 18-year-old in august. .but after an officer shot and killed 18-year-old antonio martin this week, city officials were quick to point out differences in the two shootings. >>:"this is, you couldn't even compare this with ferguson or the gardner case in new york." >>andrew spencer:within hours of martin's death, police released this surveillance video from outside the gas station. the video isn't clear, but it does appear to show martin pointing something at an officer.

>>grant lodes:officials say the victims of a small plane crash on christmas eve near sacramento had ties to the bay area. sheriff's officials say the victims were father philipps faillers and his son alex. this is picture is from failler's facebook page. faillers was returning to northern california from the bay area.after up his 27 year old son for christmas the two were flying in a in a single- engine plane it crashed about 40 miles southeast of sacramento. the cause of the crash is still under investigation.
