looking great as we head into president's weekend. >> you mentioned the strong winds that buffeted the area. earlier we had some video showing almost like surf-like conditions, people surfing on lake tahoe which you don't see very often. at the higher elevations did that cause any problems at the resort? >> other than impacting lift operations and us deciding to take the proactive step and not open lifts for guest safety, we did not experience any damage or anything because of these winds. and we'll take the winds for one day if it means it's bringing snow. >> yeah, definitely. what are the conditions like now, this morning? >> the conditions up there are great. white powder everywhere, great skiing for guests. a few of our lifts are on a delayed start, as we work to clear the lifts and clear the lift signs and get everything open to the public. but everything is very excited for the snow and the snow still in the forecast to come this weekend. >> speaking of that, we are expecting another big storm to

this is from concord yesterday. take a look at some of the damage left behind as a big palm tree fell on that woman's house but luckily she's okay. a live look at san francisco, we still have gray skies out there. we're expecting the storm. we have kron 4's team coverage this morning. we'll start with meteorologist erica. >> we had a weak impulse move onshore so we are dealing with heavy rain at least for the lower peninsula. yellow on the screen, that indicates where rainfall is falling at a rate of about a half inch per hour. let's zoom in here. this is pretty quick moving. 15 minutes ago it was centered over half-moon bay but the rain starting to lighten up there. light rain in evergreen, downtown san jose. check out the lower peninsula, redwood city, you're right along the bridge under the yellow. heavy rain is pushing through if you're getting an early start to your saturday morning. really beyond this, we're going to move in the direction of

drier conditions. a mix of sun and clouds as we head into the next couple of hours. so just a week of isolated shower right now. we have been dealing with pretty strong winds. the winds have since died down. check out peak wind bust goods that we observed yesterday. the venetia gusts clocked gusts at 53 miles per hour. rose peak 56, so the wind will start to increase as we head into tomorrow. the worst will be for the coastal ranges. let's talk about the storm expected for tomorrow. it looks like between 4 and 6 is when we'll deal with the strongest winds for the coast. between 7:00 and 12:00 that's when the heaviest rain is expected to blanket the bay area. an additional three inches of rainfall with this system. some of the biggest concerns thunderstorms for the bay valley and downed trees and power lines with very gusty conditions. beyond this system, it looks like high pressure really takes hold of the forecast and dry weather, lots of sunshine.

we're back on kron 4 news weekend. a maryland 911 operator is facing criticism for what he said to a teenager who had just seen her father hit by a car. jason carroll has the story. >> ma'am, stop yelling. i need a location. >> reporter: that's how the 911 call started. after a 13-year-old called sunday night, her father and his fiancee had pulled over to

change a tire on the side of a park way about 20 miles outside baltimore when suddenly a car hit them. >> okay, a person struck by a vehicle? >> yes, yes. >> okay. so a car was driving down the road and struck two people? >> yes, they did. they didn't stop. they just kept going. >> reporter: the 911 operator's job is to keep a caller calm no matter what, especially when it's a child. but in this case, the operator does not ask the age of the caller. instead refers to her as ma'am. he repeatedly asks about the condition of those hurt and their location and with each passing moment, appears to be losing patience. >> and are they breathing? >> yes, i think so. can y'all hurry up, please? >> ma'am, listen. let's stop worrying about hurrying up and getting there. we're already on our way. i need to find a better location. >> while the family waited for help the father was unconscious and critically injured, his fiancee also badly hurt and unable to assist.

right now. let's zoom in here. light rain in downtown san jose. redwood city, palo alto getting hit pretty hard right now. on twitter they say the heavy rain is pushing through rather quickly. one moment it was fine and all of a sudden they got a quick downpour. that's the story right now. just 20 minutes ago that was the case for half-moon bay but it looks like conditions are starting to dry out there. check out the east bay. also contending with rainfall falling at a rate of half an inch per hour. keep in mind this is quick moving so we won't see accumulation that high. a quick shower to start off your saturday morning. this all ahead of a system that's supposed to bring heavy downpours into tomorrow. storm number two set to arrive early sunday morning. by 6:00 it looks like we'll see just a taste of the system for san francisco and san rafael. as we put the clock into

motion, heavy rain pushes onshore. the areas of darker green indicate where the rain will fall the hardest of the the heaviest rain expected by midmorning. that will continue on until lunchtime. we'll start to see dry breaks, even a little bit of snipe as we head on to later on in the day. by 3:00 looks like we'll see less activity for the mid- peninsula in the south bay. showers taper off as we head into sunday evening. then the rain out of the forecast early monday morning. so when this system is all said and done, we're talking pretty impressive rainfall totals. 2 to 3 inches for the north bay. a little less than that in the east bay. we could see up to an inch and a half for the higher elevations there. prepare yourself. not only are we dealing with rainy weather but gusty winds up to 55 miles per hour. the worst of it along the coastal ranges. by next week, high pressure backin play. temperatures start to climb. hey, check out next thursday and friday. looks like temperatures back in the low 70s, so it's going to feel a little more like
