bat kids crime fighting crusade through san francisco took the world by storm. and now the documentary featuring that pint size hero is on to bigger audiences. they will turn the documentary into a big screen flick. these are scenes from the film festival in san jose where it was film last month. and julia robertss is set to star in and produce that big screen version that will tell the story of little miles scott who wished to his superhero for a day which led to the

to work and get the kids off to school. we have a little bit of clouds moving in. and we have some fog in lower lying areas, especially along the coastline. so be prepared, especially across north bay. the temperatures right now into the mid-50s for san francisco and oakland 53. concord 54. and livermore and santa rosa in the 50s. for the most part, the temperatures will continue to heat up. so into the next hour, the temperatures will be in the lower to mid-50s for the east bay along the bay and in the inland areas. for the lunch hour, the temperatures will warm up into the upper 60s to lower 70s. and it will be a nice lunch hour and we'll have some winds from the northwest five to ten miles an hour. and 5:00, we'll continue on with a nice evening and the temperatures should warm up into the lower 70s.

bombers, this 27-year-old man waited for a chance to run. when the car pulled into a gas station, he found an opening and raced as fast as he could across the street to another gas station. watch as he frantically trying to lock the door begging the confused clerk to 911. he gets the police on the line and lanes him the phone. following the murder of mit officer collier, they hijacked the black suv. he they haved that he pointed a gun at him and he said did you know the boston marathon bombing? i did it and i just killed a cop. he used his atm card to with

draw 800 in cash. he asked him where he was from. he replied i'm chinese. he said that he dzhokhar tsarnaev replied i'm muslim and muslims hate americans. and he goes inside to buy snacks. and mange decided to run. surveillance video going to tell his brother that mange has escaped. he alerted the police that his suv has gps tracking, a crucial part to help track down the brothers. a high-profile sex offender may be released soon in the area.

several photos of him. the police are also looking into similar cases in the area over the last four to six months to see if there are any other similar crimes. and we're following a kidnapping for ransom. the police said that a gunman forces a 25-year-old man from his front yard in front of his wife and two kids. and the man was put inside a pickup truck and taken to the modesto area and shoved into the trunk of the car. and all the while they were demanding money for from the victim's family. the victim was able to free himself and lead the deputies to his kidnappers. they believe that is connected to the underground marijuana trade. this is a live look outside. we'll be back with more headlines in a minute. we'll give you a quick update on what the conditions are like in hayward right now. we should warm up to the mid- 70s this afternoon. we'll be back with more news in a minute.

as you get the kids off to school in the next couple hours. the temperatures are on the school side and mild for some areas as well. and cooler in the north for upper 40s and we have 50s for area across peninsula and the east bay. so not too bad. you don't really need a coat because the temperatures will continue to warm up for this afternoon so across the peninsula, the temperatures will be into the upper 40s along the coastline and the bay lower 50s. and in the next hour by lunchtime, the temperatures will quickly warm up into the mid-60s and winds will continue to stay light from the northwest between five to ten miles an hour. by the early evening around 5:00, as you drive home or maybe want to do dinner outside, the temperatures will stay in the upper 60s with a mix of sun and clouds for much of the afternoon. and the daytime highs look good and upper 60s along the peninsula. and mid-70s across the east bay and mid-70s across the south bay. so san jose we're warming up to 76. and the rest of your storm

morning, a health scare in napa. five case of hepatitis a have been reported. county officials are warning the public about potential exposure to the virus. >> reporter: this is where the napa county public health division said that two infected employees may have exposed visitors to the liver swelling disease hepatitis a. >> there's a small chance while they were sick they actually potentially transmitted the virus to some of the people. >> reporter: smith said that the source of the infections is still under investigation. she as that the virus can be passed on through person-to- person contact or more commonly by ingesting contaminated food or drinks. >> we have every reason to believe they had good hand

hygiene. we're just being very safe. >> reporter: this happened between february 9th and 26th of this year. smith said that she's looking into what all five victims ate or drink before infection. >> is there a food in common before the first set of cases that did not go to the restaurant and these two restaurant workers, that makes us think that the possibility is that there is a commercial food production that both groups of individuals were accessed. >> reporter: the hotel general manager and the owner of both restaurants said they're working closely with the health division to find the source of the virus. but most children and young adults received the hepatitis a vaccine as infants as most people that frequently travel overseas. and the virus rarely deadly but it could take close to two months to show signs of sickness of being infected. >> symptoms of hepatitis a

>> post said that i had made a decision to commit suicide over my stress from dealing with fake america for the last six years from the golden gate bridge to make a point. >> reporter: shane's facebook post was personal and detailed about wanting to take his own live. the san mateo police department said that a friend of shane's called them and concerned for his safety and they followed protocol and followed up with shane. >> less than a minute in the conversation, the handcuffs went on and that was it. they drove me to the san francisco mental health facility for a 72 hour hold. >> reporter: he is a citizen activist who is concerned over privacy and free speech on social media he said that he is not suicidal to see how

treat veterans there and he'll find out where more improvements are needed. secretary of veteran affairs robert mcdonald will join the president. the white house meanwhile continues to push and executive action immigration. they filed an emergency notion allow the obama administration to move forward with immigration reform. a judge blocked the plans with a temporary injunction and he sided with 26 states that filed suit against the executive action ruling that the administration did not follow proper procedures and now they are asking for a stay of that ruling. up to 5 million illegal immigrants will be protected from deportation. the two most active terror groups are getting together. isis has accepted a pledge of allene against from boko haram.

highland hospital. he was injured. they tracked him down through witnesses. they talked to people out there. they knew he was in the hospital, came to his room, arrested him. he's involved in what police say is a heinous crime. this 30-year-old mother, she just picked up her kids. her name is shamille pierce. she just picked up her kids, parked cart in oakland. almost -- car in oakland. they almost got to the home. two women got into a fight. one man shoved the woman down to the ground. the woman ran away, called for help. a group of men came back a little bit later, started firing shots while she was in the wrong place at the wrong time. she was hit in the back of the head. we got a chance to track down the oakland police department. they have known about this for several days but finally yesterday they connected all of the dotses, felt good enough to have a news conference. here's what they had to say about the shooting. >> it hits a special cord with not only the neighborhood but with the city, with the community.

happening now, health officials in napa are warning people about a health scare. in the past few weeks, five cases of hepatitis a have been reported in napa county. two of those with a liver infection worked at latoque restaurant. napa county public health officials say the two infected employees may have exposed visitors to the liver swelling disease but the source of the infection is still under investigation. the virus can be passed on through person-to-person contact and more commonly by congesting contaminated food or drifergs. hotel visitors may have been exposed to the virus between february 9 and february 26. right now officials are looking into what all five of the victims ate or drank before they were sickened. symptoms of hepa include fever, fatigue, loss of appetite and jaundice which includes yellowing of the eyes and skin. symptoms start 28 days after exposure but may occur anywhere from 15 to 50 days after

mid- to upper 40s in our cool spots like santa rosa and though sad dough. but the -- know sad toe -- novato. it's pretty much bay area wide. we'll get decent sun breaks this afternoon and warm things up nicely. i want to show you a quick look at what oakland is going to be like in terms of the temperatures. we have our storm tracker forecast where we've broken down the day into a number of different parts to demonstrate how the temperatures are going to develop. here's the story. we'll be mild to start in the the low 50s. by 8:00 we'll start to see the warm-up take hold. by 10:00 we'll be into the 60s, into the upper 60s by noontime, and then look at that it 2:00 and 4:00 p.m., we'll probably max out in oakland around 73 degrees before the temperatures come back down. that's the story of the temperatures today. we'll be in the low 70s this oakland. everywhere else, similar story. we're going to be in the low to mid-70s in the east bay valleys with 75 antioch. 72 livermore. 75 san jose and in the north

we're not tracking any hot spots yet this morning. chp logs are still pretty quiet. it's an easy ride to the bridge from awfully the approaches. heading to 92, another major commute route. as we've seen over the last months, actually year, really becoming jammed up more and more. but so far a pretty good ride with no delays now in the westbound direction. let's take a look what's happening at the golden gate bridge. 101 heading northbound or southbound. still pretty light traffic. they have finished with the reconfiguration of the lanes. the truck at north end of the bridge now. no problems here or the richmond bridge which looks good for the westbound ride. let's track some drive times for you. the upper east shore freeway commute just 12 minutes. hercules to berkley a great ride through the san ramon valley just 15 minutes now down to dublin. believe it or not it's only a 24-minute trip time out of the altamont interchange to get to dublin as well.

taking a look at the ride here in the south bay, conditions are good enough that we've -- that we see nothing but green on the roadway sensors. that means it's a light and easy ride for 101 and highway 17. questions are swirling around the secret service after a recent incident in washington, d.c. sources say two secret service agents had been drinking at a going away party for the agency spokesman. the acts then came upon -- agents then came upon an active investigation crashing into temporary barriers. in the wake of other recent embarrassments for the agency, the situation has create add new problem for the newly appointed secret service director joe clancy. >> everything from morale to culture to use of technology and protocol and training. we have to look at all of those thoingz make sure we get it -- things to make sure we get it right. >> i worry if the new secret service director does not

fundamentally change the secret service, we'll continue to have these problems. >> one source says the agents were george ogilvie, a top supervisor and mark o connolly, a member of the president's security detail. now the latest in the search for the 11 soldiers and marines whose black hawk helicopter crashed in the florida panhandle. we first reported that on the kron4 morning news. we told you it was foggy and they weren't finding anything. dense fog is hampering the efforts again to recover the victims. they have to wait till the weather improves before they can pull the chopper out of the water from the bottom of the santa rosa sound. so far the army has found two of the four soldiers and two others and seven marines are still unaccounted for this morning. that helicopter went down in thick fog tuesday night during a routine training mission at elgin air force base in florida. we're following a kidnapping for ransom that

started in santa rosa and ended in modesto safely for the victim. santa rosa police say a gunman forced a 25-year-old man from his front yard in front of his wife and two kids. he was put in a pickup truck, taken to the modesto area and shoved into the drunk of a car. the kidnappers were demanding money from the victim's family in exchange for his release. he was able to free himself and lead sheriff's deputies to the kidnappers. they believe it's tied to an underground marijuana trade. new details being released about the arrest of 49er bruce miller. according to a newly released police document, the san francisco 49er fullback was arrested last week after he allegedly shoved his fiance to the ground and broke her cell phone. they were arguing around 10:30 at night outside of a bagel store in santa clara. miller was arrested on the night of the argument and is now free on $10,000 bail. no charges have been filed. the 49ers have taken no immediate action against miller. still ahead on the kron4

after setting off alarm systems. officers were dispatched to a burglar alarm that was sounding at the china palace on redwood boulevard. when they got there, they found three people who were trying to drive away at the time. michael charles king, jr., 31- year-old, mckey james patterson, a 24-year-old man from fairfield and chianti lamar bird, 24, lives in ellenwood, georgia. they were all arrested on suspicious of burglary. police in santa cruz now releasing images of a man they say tried to break into the house of a 19-year-old woman earlier this week. it happened in the 100 block of palo verde terrace. the man opened the window and tried to get in the house of the victim. they ran out of her home and confronted him in the patio area and took these photos of him. that's what you're seeing here. santa cruz police are also looking into similar cases in the area over the last four to six months.

the bay. st. patrick's day on tuesday looks like a nice one all around the bay. that's the weather. how about traffic? let's find out from george. of course there's been a big change. the metering lights have been activated at the bay bridge toll plaza. that means the backup has filled in across all of the lanes now for the westbound ride. things beginning to back up on the 880 ramp leading out to the toll plaza flats. although the backup doesn't reach much beyond 880 so it hasn't grown horribly yet. drive times 14 to 16 minutes. san mateo bridge highway 92, still a good ride under way here. we don't yet see any brake lights for the westbound trip although that seems to be occurring earlier and earlier. for your trip to the golden gate bridge, still an easy ride here both directions now four lanes displeetly a-- completely across the span southbound. we may see some backup in the cash lanes before 6:00 if they don't open all the toll lanes
