service --we have officers in our family and its to bless the family and be with the family and may the lord bless them all with sympathy and that why we're here to pay our respects. >> reporter:following taps the processions of officers fired up their motocycles and led the hearse carrying officer johnson to his final resting place. among those watching the motorcade was ryan wong, who stood alone with his dog holding up a sign that simply said thank you >>ryan wong/san jose resident --i just felt compelled to come out because officers are really disrespected these days and no one appreciates their work or takes the time to say thank you. you know we wake up and we're safe and they put themselves in harms way and what other chance would i get to say thank you to hundreds of cops at one time you know.

>> reporter:officer michael johnson was a 14 year veteran of the department and the 12th officer to die in the line of duty. in san jose dan kerman kron 4 news. >> pam:people from across the bay area. came out to pay their respects to officer johnson. >> pam:this was the scene outside gatos. as 230 - motorcycle and patrol officers. escorted officer johnson's body to the s-a-p center in san jose >> pam:all along the motorcade. people stopped to watch. some with flags waving. others in silence or in salute. many people who had no direct ties to officer johnson. were there at the s-a-p center to attend his funeral. >> pam:one man said, he took his daughter out of school today. to bring her to the service. as kron four's terisa estacio reports - some said, it just felt like the right thing to do. >> reporter:they lined the streets to get a glimpse of the procession and then the

in sj - te >> pam:the community outpouring of support for officer michael johnson's family. has been overwhelming. the bar and restaurant -- britannia arms -- has opened its doors to raise money that will go to the family. >> pam:the owner says, the business on almaden expressway has been doing quite well. so much so, that it closed the parking lot. to add 125- seats outside for customers. the britannia arms will stay open until 2 a.m. 100- percent of the sales will be donated to the family. >> pam:the owners say, the amount could exceed $50- thousand dollars. and the restaurant just across the street. called - scrambles -- is also donating 100-percent of its business today to the fundraiser for johnson's family. >> pam:we have more information about fundraisers for the the johnson family on our website. kron 4 dot com.

student is signed up with care dot com a website that connects families with care providers. she babysits through care dot com to help pay for school. >> reporter:but lately it's been a dangerous place for nanies and babysitters looking for work. >> reporter:scammers are trying to take advadvantage of these job seekers. >> carolyn --"i got an email from a guy said he was moving to the bay area and needed care for his son" >> reporter:the guy promised her a job and wanted to communicate with her outside of the care dot com system. he started emailing and texting her (cheers & applause) carolyn --"he told me he was going to give me a bonus to show he was good for it. and i was like ok he sent me a check for $2,000 >> reporter:$2,000! here is that check. he wanted her to cash that check. and keep most of it but take a small portion of it and give it to a local real estate agent he was supposedly working with on accquiring housing with to move here. >> carolyn --"i called my parents and was like this is getting sketchy. " >> reporter:carolyn's instinct was right this is a classic scam. someone sends you a check asking you to cash it and send a portion

of it to someone they know. >> reporter:they get the money you send, typically from your account. and the check they sent is fake it ends up bouncing and you get stuck dealing with that. >> reporter:carolyn called him out with this text message saying she was uncomfortable with all this and she only work with him and accept payments through the care dot com website. >> reporter:after that he never contacted her again. carolyn says people should feel good about using care dot com she's still using it but she offers this advice >> carolyn --"it's good through the system on the website, if they contact you off the site it's shady make sure you stay on care dot com for messaging" >> reporter:care dot com is well aware that scammers are trolling their service. they have issued warning to all users. >> reporter:they have done a great job of setting up a special page on their website warning people and giving advice how to stay safe. >> reporter:gsk4n >> pam:a bomb threat was called into woodside high school in redwood city earlier today. the sheriff's office received the call from the school on churchill avenue.at about 9:20 this
